Recruitment Counselor
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to share the news that I'm going to be a recruitment counselor for next fall! I'm sooooo excited! Has/is anyone else been/going to be a RC? Do you have any great stories or advise? I can't wait! PSLAM, Jess:D |
Hi Ladies! This is the only place I can be a Phi Sig right now.......
Hi everyone. I am a Phi Sig at IU-Southeast. Our formal recruitment is this weekend and I am a Rho Chi, so I needed somewhere to come to talk to Phi Sigs.
:) |
Hey there,
We'll be here for you. good luck with recruitment and keep us posted if you can. Carolyn |
Hey I'll be here. I remeber my Rho Chi couldn't talk to any of her sisiters at the time. I can't imagine not talking to any of my sisiters for more than a day.
|
Wow... That must be so hard!!!
Don't worry, we're here for you!!! Much love to you... LITP~Beth |
Update on my Rho Chi experience & our chapter!
Our recruitment this year was SO small and spirits were down, but Epsilon Chi has 4 beautiful new members! Erin, Kristen, Bryce, and Jennifer!!!
We have a C.O.B. this week and have 7 definitely interested ladies!! (If we would get all 7, I do believe we would be the largest on campus!!) Our Panhell, just gave us our campus C.O.B. list yesterday. There are 30 ladies on the list right now. We are calling them all today to invite them to our C.O.B. It would be so awesome if we would get them ALL, but we are shooting for half. Whew!!!!!! It is soooooo great to be done with Rho Chi & back with my chapter. Leah |
Congratulations on all of your New Members!!! Good luck with COB!!!

I am a recruitment counselor for the summer and for Fall Recruitment. I miss wearing my letters and talking with my sisters. But it's getting better because I have this site and I can still e-mail my sisters and we can talk to each other on the phone.
But I am really glad that I got to be a Rho-Chi before I graduated. |
This is the best place for you to be then! Congrats on the Rho Chi position! How exciting!!!

I'm a rho chi, should I attend summer retreat
I have a problem, which is should I attend my summer retreat which is about 30 miles from school and it's where a lot of people go it's at a lake, because I am rho chi and we are suppose to disaffilate from our sororities until after formal recruitment. We will get fined $300 dollars if we get in trouble and I would also get my sorority in trouble too.
So what should I do? |
Dude that Sucks!
Yeah personally, I wouldn't go. Only because it's at a popular place. If you can refrain from being seen, then go for it... But that's highly unlikely, and even though it sucks major ones, it's best that you don't go. Sorry!!! :(

I have decided not to go. I feel so sad. I feel like I'm missing one of the most important things of the summer. I know that if I was to get caught a fined it would be a nice fine and then people would be mad at me and would blame me for giving them the fine. I'm just doing what's best for the sorority. I just want to cry.
Thanks :( |
Since I did not attend summer retreat it seems as though all my so call sisters seem to be snubbing me. Well you know what I don't need this. I think I might drop out after formal recruitment.
|
Drop what???
|
awwwww no dont drop out!! i understand how you feel though, how it seems like theyre snubbing you....i was a rho chi last year and i felt the exact same way...i oculdnt do annnnything cool with mysisters - all i got to do was go to stupid meetings about recruitment every nite :/ lol you probably are experiencing this snubbing feeling thing cause your sisters might not know how to interact with you since its not really allowed...so the best thing they know to do is to not talk to you at all...it totally sucks i know, but as soon as formal recruitment is over and you get to put on those letters and go to bid day and all that great stuff you'll be fine!! *HUGE HUG*
|
I'm just going to see how everything goes after formal recruitment if I continue to get the same treatment. Then I will make my decision. I have put a lot into this sorority and I don't want to just quit becaue I am not a quitter. At the current moment I do not plan on leaving. I was just feeling really bad after reading some e-mails about how the didn't appreciate at me not coming summer retreat. I felt like sisterhood was just a joke.
|
didnt appreciate you not coming???
maybe you need to remind them of the rules!!! or say 'hey, sorry i didnt realize you wanted to pay 300 bucks for an infraction and drag our name in the mudd you scallywag" really though, thats quite inapporpriate of them to think that...youre just doing your job, and youre doing a damn fine job of it too....i for one am damn proud of you for being a sister who sticks to her word, cause i know how tough it is... :) |
I agree completely with Phi Sig Girly. They have no right treating you this way, because you were not only covering your ass, but making sure that you saved Phi Sig's face too.
Email them about it. Tell them how you feel. And also tell them that they need to realize that you are Rho Chi, and not only should they feel honored to have you serving that position, they should understand that this position will take you away from the sorority for awhile. I really am sorry that they're treating you this way. I hope you understand that we still think you're wonderful, and that we know that you're gonna do a great job as Rho Chi!!! :D And you know you can talk to us about it, or anything else. We still love you!!! :D LITP~Beth |
This seems to be a problem a lot of chapters have. You get one or two really stupid, really loud mouthed sisters who don't know what the he!! they're talking about and they completely twist and distort the truth. I went through this anytime I had to be unbiased (Greek Week Chair and RC). But eventually, people will realize you were only doing what is right and you really are trying to help them out. When they finally do realize this, you can look back and laugh at the dumb a$$ biotch who caused you all these problems and realize she's not worth much at all. And then laugh at her stupidity.
That's just my opinion, though. (not that i'm bitter or anything) |
