License Plates
In true GC on AIM fashion, I'm turning the conversation into a thread: What are your favorite license plate designs, and what would you have on your specialty plate????
|
ASIGPHI or AA 814; if I could get to a state that allows 8 characters (only Illinois, North Carolina and Florida) it would be ALPHASIG.
|
I <heart> copz haha
|
docetboy, a thread from the past!!!!!!!:)
LXA 1 :) :D  |
AST1140 (my pin #)
|
BOLOGNA
KSIG1869 AEKDB 1 |
Might be nice to have BETADTD or BETADELT. Beta is my chapter.
|
well, in illinois some plates have doves on them, i would get one of those plates maybe with text of THETAPI, that would be cool
|
Actually here in IL its always been 7, unless something's changed lately.
|
Mine would be
T REX WOMBAT GONZOLO |
LMAO at MNI MOO...you know who you are!!!
I think I want SPAZTIC or KILLAH |
I have always wanted a Jaguar so I would want my plate to read "Meow"
I think it would be a nice touch! |

get spaztic or killah and i'm sure that everyone would get out of your way on the road. If i get a job in Texas i want the A&M plates with KS 361 on em. If i go to any other state, AGSN01 Kitso KS 361 |
One of these days soon, I'm actually going to get plates that say as much of the word 'enchanted' as I can fit.
As for the design, well, anything other than our gross plain yellow Jersey plates. |
Unfortunately, CT only allows 6 characters. Otherwise I'd have gone for AEPHI 95, or possibly GRYFNDOR ;)
I'm thinking of going for one of the "Caring for Pets" plates. They have a picture of a dog and a cat. They're standard 3-number, 3-letter plates, but the 3 letters are always DOG, CAT, or PET. Part of the proceeds goes toward animal population control (meaning spay/neuter, not euthanization). But for now, plain ol' tags for me. |
i like the children plates in MA...and also the cape & islands plate, and the save the whales plate...
plate reads: SARAHG |
the regular Texas one with LEXEE 1 on it

But I would take any license plate at all, if someone was to give me a Jag! :) I like the simple plates - the ones where you immediately know, "Oh, that's a Virginia plate." type. I absolutely despise the new Ohio plates - they look too much like diplomatic plates!! I was issued a plate that said DWEB, so I got a vanity plate: Phil 4:4. It's my favorite Bible verse. Interestingly, I follow a person to work almost every day whose plate is Acts 3. So, when we were both stopped once, I made a comment on what part of Acts 3 so intrigued him. He blushed & said his wife got it for him, since he "acts three"!! :D |

my personalized plate would be SEGLA - it's the Swedish word for sailing and the name of my family's boat. |
I thought about SSS1365, but that sort of sounds like the name of a ship or something. I also thought about METS4LF, but I'm not feeling too proud of the Mets these past couple of years.
|
I would love to get the Illinois "I'm pet friendly" plates because they are the cutest thing and the money goes to a good cause -- a spay/neuter program.
I don't care for personalized plates, so I'll never get them. It's funny because my plates now, which are supposedly just random numbers, include 666. My car is satan!!! |
Maybe we should get more Greeks in state prisons so we can get Greek letter templates and have actual Greek letters on our plates.
|
Quote:
Hahaha that would be funny. If I were to get personalized plates I'd put something Mizzou related on there. I thought about putting KU SUX, but I decided that wasn't nice. ;) Or else I'd put my nickname, I just don't know. :) |
Quote:
Do they still offer those. If I still lived in Ohio, I would have the O.U. ones. |

As for getting more greeks in prison, I think I'll pass. Let's work on getting more greeks in positions to plan on those plates instead! |
when i had a car, my plates said "REDHWKS" for my school...

I still have a temporary tag from the dealer on my car, but i want this one:
http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/specialt...ucational.html :D it has a teacher apple!!! |

Florida has 80 bazillion plate designs. Hopefully in the next few weeks, I'll be getting the new Columbia one if it's available. The money goes towards a good cause. |

DeltAlum-The standard new ones look like this: http://www.state.oh.us/odps/division...icent-logo.jpg My BG plate looks like this: http://www.warrenohio.net/licensebur...ng-green-u.jpg I wanted to get "DZALUM" or "GTDZ" but I had already coughed up enough for a university plate. |
Virginia has so many choices for plates that I'd go dizzy picking one. My mom had the GMU plate on the solara with MEGSKR on it because she was planning on giving it to me, but that fell through. Once I get my Mazda6s I'm getting 6Y ANGEL on my plates (but it's going to be registered in TN like my Nissan is). My ex's dad's Impala SS has C-YA AMF on his plate, which stands for 'See Ya, Adios Mother F***er' but he told the people when he ordered it that it means "Adios My Friend" :p
|
I was going to get CVRBABE (caverbabe), but I was afraid people would think I was stuck-up and saying I was a cover model!
Two of my favorite plates I've seen were on new Beetles: FEATURE BAH HUM |
I hate the new Ohio Plates!!! They look HORRIBLE on cars that are any color other than red white or blue!
Mine would be: IM PINK KGD001 KapGamD RIOKGD1 |
ok... question about the ohio plates. i've heard that if you don't have them already, the old plates have to be replaced this year. does anyone know if that's true?
i don't know what i'd put on vanity plates, but i wish i could have kept the original plates on my car. my car is a (VERY low mileage) 93, the plates ended in 093, and I graduated hs in 1993.:) |
Quote:
So instead we filled out the papers with the following choices-- (MO allows 6 letters and one space or hypen).... RK-CHLK RKCHLK FRK SHO GO JHOX and the last 2 I cannot remember-- but they were KU related!!!! --yes the 3rd choice is Freak Show-- I really wanted this-- although I really like the first choice. I am sure we would get much unwanted attention with the FRK SHO. -wendi |
Those Ohio Bi-Centennial plates are a bit much! But it does remind me that 2004 (next year) is Ohio University's Bi-Centennial. Wish I could have OU Bi-Centennial plates on my car!
|
My mom has always wanted to get a UF vanity plate that says IM4UGA, but she decided she didn't want to give any money to UF.
Personally, I like the vanity plates that Florida offers, but I wouldn't want to customize it. I just like the plate to match the car :) |
Mine would be...
|
I've always wanted plates that said:
HEATHER ;) |
Quote:
but ky plates were just changed and are SOOOO stupid lookin..... click here to see some interesting variations on our stupid plates.....they really just have the sun smiling and it says, "kentucky....it's that friendly"....but these are more of an accurate portrayal. lol ;) thank God i still have the old one..... |
