Saddams sons are dead!
Hey Guys, They think that they got 'em!
http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/...ons/index.html |
I'll believe it when they have the DNA evidence to back it up....Remember the last time they "killed" the sons? Sorry to be cynical, but I am going to be cautious till then.

I get this thing from CNN Breaking News..."-- U.S. troops investigating whether Saddam Hussein's sons Uday and Qusay were killed during firefight in Mosul, Iraq, Pentagon officials tell CNN."
I'm like, why is that breaking news...shouldn't this have already been found or happened?? |
I'll believe it when I see proof. But I'm glad the 101st Airborne was the unit that may get the credit for whacking Saddam's bad boys. (I have a friend from high school who's in the 101st currently stationed up in that neck of the woods.)
|
what is the significance of them being dead? And if they are, why should we cheer it?

YES!!!!!!
There is Confirmation from LtGen Ricardo Sanchez, 101st Airborne Division in Baghdad, U.S. Army that they are confirmed DEAD. Let those buggers stink in hell. This is a great day for the United States war against Terror and American military forces everywhere. Positive ID was made by multiple sources and they died in a fierce ground battle. |

You know, I think Saddam's sons and the Bush twins would have been a good double marraige.

Bush Twins: Like to act like american teenagers, going to COLLEGE, enjoying their friday nights and trying to sneak a beer or two under the table. Hussein Sons: Murdered girlfriends if they did not 'perform' well, tortured Olympic athletes if they had a bad performance on the field, two sick individuals that are comparable to Hitler, many claim they were worse than their father. |

471 times disparaging comments came from your party about Chelsea - it tastes good, doesn't it? |
There are some things I just don't joke about.
Edit: I never made fun of Chelsea, except joking about how ugly she looked. I directed my disrespect of the family to those who deserved it: Bill and Hillary. Chelsea had the hard job of being the first daughter of an unpopular president: I do feel sorry for what she had to go thru, politically and personally... Just the same way I don't ever say anything about Bush's daughters. They are out of the equation, and extremely low blows. |

So true! Its a joke docet deal with u. It only bothers you because you are a Bush supporter. Plus Docet, Clinton was popluar he made it through 8 years high ratings almost the whole time too. |

Next try. |
39%...after he was out of office. They aren't great, but are higher than Bush's pre 9/11 ratings, FYI. If you really want to do an accurate comparison, compare Clinton in early 1993 to Bush in early 2001, when they were at the same point in their presidencies.
Personally, I don't care what happened to those guys, but I think cheering over their deaths makes you no better than some of the Palestinians who were cheering after 9/11. A death is a death is a death. |

Notice i said MOST of the eight years. Read the article, that was after his preisdency was over and after the controversial pardons and laws he past in his last few hours. Research the numbers over the 8 years u will see. Some of his highest approval ratings were durning the Lewinsky deal. |
I am actually fearful of the possible retaliation...
We should never have gone there in the first place... What destruction we've brought upon ourselves has yet to be seen, in my opinion... |

The Palestinians that danced in the streets were celebrating the deaths of normal people minding their own business at work. Today we killed men who repeatedly lit people on fire for their own amusement. We have the proof that Saddam's sons did these disgusting things- I think they deserved death a lil more than the stock brokers in the world trade center. |

Sorry, after 9/11, we cannot rest on our laurels. We aren't a safe, impenetrable nation... |

-Rudey --You gotta be kidding |
Well said AXJules. There is a difference between celebrating the deaths of innocent civilians whose only crime was picking the wrong place to work, and two men who murdered their girlfriends if they could not perform satisfactorally in bed.
With that reasoning, what about the people that celebrated the death of Hitler? The people hanged at the Nuremburg trials? Adolf Eichmann, the only person to recieve capital punishment in the State of Israel? Timothy McVeigh? |

thank god they're gone.
|
But how can you play cards when you're missing two aces?
|
In my thoughts, we gained two aces today. We just need to get the other two...
I want to play cards with a deck of captured Iraqis, not ones we are looking for :) |
I am simply not judgemental enough to say whether or not someone deserved to die, nor will I cheer anyone's death. I am not a Christian, but I definitely believe man does not have the right to decide if another man should live or die. Even in the case of someone who willingly took the lives of others, he will have to deal with it with his Higher Power.
Back to the subject at hand...does this make up for the fact that WMD was found? |

Are you saying there are no WMD or that none were found? -Rudey |

I knew there was a reason Kath was my friend. It's too bad we couldn't have voted you president instead. :p |
So is anyone else for getting the bodies to be in the victory parade down 5th avenue in new york???? :)

Hahaha, that's the funniest thing I've heard all day. :D Thanks Kath. |
I'm still waiting on the Kingpin!
|
Two down, the old man to go!
|
I'm unabashedly cheering because:
1. Hopefully our troops are one step closer to returning home. 2. I'm happy on behalf of the Iraquis who have two less distators (dictators-in-training???) to worry about. I don't think the deaths of Saddam's sons can be compared in any way, shape or form with the deaths of the people who perished in the World Trade Center and (most of the people) in the Pentagon. By virtue of their places in Saddam's regime, his sons were considered to be combatants whereas the people who died in the terrorist attacks were mostly civilians. |
:D :) :D
|
Damn, just got this on news and see that GCers have already got it on!
Why feel sorry for these men!??? They kiled many Iraqis! It was a 6 hr gun battle! We are losing Our Me Dailey! I am a Christian, but are these people any different than Hitler, Stalin Tito, ETC!? NO! Being Christian is not always right or wrong.:( Ah Yes the morons are celebrating by shooting weapons in the air! Da what goes up must come down! How many dead will be found by gun fire from Iraqis? |
