Soror Ladygreek Has Lost A Loved One...

Sorors and GCers:

CrimsonTide4 07-22-2003 01:23 PM

Sorors LadyGreek and VGCDelta,

Please accept my deepest sympathies in the passing of your mother. :(

Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. I know it might sound trite but I had to learn that when my father passed away.

Honeykiss1974 07-22-2003 02:10 PM

My condolences

“O Lord Jesus Christ, God of ALL consolation, who was moved to tears at the grave of Lazarus, look now with compassion on Your servant LadyGreek who is sorely grieved by the loss of her mother. Strengthen in her heart the spirit of faith to accept this cross from Your loving hands knowing that one day they will be united again. Give to her troubled heart the light of calm, hope, and peace, for Your word says that “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”.

In Jesus name I pray…AMEN

Thank you so much

Sorors and fellow GCers,

Thank you so much for your loving support. Our Mom, Dr. Victoria Chapman transitioned from her Earthly Being to her Heavenly Being yesterday at 1:25pm. I was able to spend the last two weeks in St. Louis with her as she made her journey. I returned back to MN Sunday night. True to fashion, and ever being the Mom, she chose to complete her journey while both my sister and I were not in the house. (We had her on home hospice care.) I am sure she did this to spare us the pain of the final moments of her death.

Nupe4Life, thank you and I will also keep you and your family in my prayers.

Del, thanks for posting this.

Soror Victoria Chapman, will soon be initiated into Omega Omega Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. All praises to Him.

One more thing

I just want to say how much GC means at a time like this. Being able to read these boards and know that you have so many cyberfriends really provides a wonderful respite from the sadness. So a special thanks to all of the moderators for giving us this gift.

Reading your last post was very touching. I thought your mom was a Soror. Lean on us, we are here for you over the cyber highways.

To LadyGreek, VGCDelta, Nupe4Life...
My prayers are with all of you. These dark days will pass.

When Angels sense you need them, And Angels always do
They come, unseen, from everywhere, To help and comfort you.
They hover close beside you, Till all your cares are gone
Till they can see you're ready, Once again to carry on.
Then some of them may fly away, And take their gentle touch
To other hearts that need, The love of Angels very much.
But one, at least, stays with you, As your constant friend and guide,For GUARDIAN ANGELS never leave, They're always at your side.

btb87 07-22-2003 08:51 PM

LadyGreek, VGCDelta and Nupe4Life,

My heartfelt prayers are with all of you. I understand what you're going through. My grandfather died over 2 years ago, and it's still hard to go home to NC and not see him there (he and my grandmother reared me from the age of 2, so he was more a father than grandfather). I know that the loss hurts, but I also know that God will bring you through this.

OOhsoflyDELTA#9 07-22-2003 08:56 PM

You will be in my prayers....

Sorors, I am extremely sorry for you lost and I send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

starang21 07-22-2003 09:30 PM

my condolonces.

Afrochic 07-22-2003 10:00 PM

You will be in my prayers. You don't realize how strong you can be until you lose a loved one and especially a parent. My father lost his battle with Alzheimers on June 27, 2003 at 8:59 a.m. What makes me feel better is that I know there is no more suffering and he's with the Lord, just as your mother is with the Lord.

Isn't it amazing, we all live miles apart but when you have those who will send up prayers for you, distance is never an issue.

God bless you my sister.

I'm so sorry about your father. He might have lost his battle with Alzheimer's but he is now resting peacefully with Jesus.

Your second point was so true. The INTERNET has bought so many folks into my life that I would have never met, Delta or otherwise. :)

Dionysus 07-22-2003 10:07 PM

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

NiaX 07-23-2003 01:08 AM

Sorors LadyGreek and VGCDelta,

My prayers are with you. It is very true, she is in a place where there is no more pain and suffering. Take this time to reflect on how well she lived her life, and what made her the beautiful woman that you know and love.
And Soror CT4 is right, although this is the internet we are here for you.

nikki1920 07-23-2003 02:06 AM

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!!

Sugar_N_Spice 07-23-2003 05:34 AM

To LadyGreek, VGCDelta and Nupe4Life,
My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to you and your respective families. It really saddens me to see that there is so much death in the world, yet knowing that they are in a better place now makes me feel so much better. I too lost a series of family members this year (my Aunt and Grandpa--my first time losing someone even remotely close to me), and I know how hard it can be to lose a loved one...In time, the Lord will heal your wounds...

Krisco 07-23-2003 09:04 AM

May prayers and most sincere condolences go out to all who have lost. I too have been dealing with the death of my uncle two weeks ago. He was buried this past saturday. Although he was an inmate here in an Arkansas prison, they took his life by not taking his condition seriously. He went into hospital 3 days before he died. That was only because other inmates called us and said he was deathly ill. The warden insisted he wasn't really sick and it definitely was NOT life threatening. He passed due to severe liver and kidney complications.
Sorry to go on so much, but I just feel like, maybe just maybe ya know. The Lord's will is what makes me have some kind of peace about the situation though.

Much love ya'll, Kristi

To LadyGreek, VGCDelta and Nupe4Life and all others who have lost their loved ones,

I am creating the Spirit of Love, Peace and Strength for you and your families and I am sending it out to you now.

Nupe4Life, if you need to talk about your Grandmother, feel free to PM me. My Nana left us in '98 and it still hurts. It helps to talk sometimes to those who are not immediately connected to you so they can listen and you can vent.

You are all in my prayers.

May Peace & Blessings be with you always.

Sisterly,

zetafg

Ladygreek and VGCDelta my condolences go out to you and yours. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

N4L, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as well.

NUPE4LIFE 07-23-2003 02:34 PM

Thank you all for the well wishes and support. My grandmother too, was on home hospice care. She had a 3 1/2 year bout with cancer. But we try not to look at her death as a lost but as a celebration. Therefore her service was more of a celebration than a funeral. And we do believe that she had a heavenly appointment. My grandfather her husband, died on July 9, 1989 at 12:55 am and my grandmother died on July 9, 2003 at 12:55 pm. Weird huh! But all in God's plan.

Wow! It was her time! Her and your granddad are reunited together in heavenly love.

Eclipse 07-23-2003 04:27 PM

Ladygreek, If you are any indication of the life your mother lived, she was a wonderful person. Her light will continue to shine because of you and all of the other people she has influenced over the year. I pray your peace at this difficult time.

Nupe4life, Praise God that you saw your Grandmother's homegoing for what it was--a celebration. She is now cancer free! I pray your peace as well. Our soul rejoices but our flesh is sad.

blackerican 07-23-2003 05:25 PM

May God Bless you during this time. You are in my prayers!!!
