Anyone have or go to some interesting ones?

This year, they went as follows

MTV-themed with several Real World and Road Rules members invited

Take Me Out To The Ball game held at the baseball stadium with a couple of MLB players

Beach theme at a water park after hours

Themed Bar Mitzvahs? Now that's new. Mine sucked in comparison - at a synagogue and a reception at a 4 seasons hotel...lol.

When I was in Israel, a member of the group (30 jewish teens from omaha) recieved a 'suprise' bar-mitzvah at the western wall...he had not been bar-mitzvahed and the group co-ordinators and his parents planned a bar-mitzvah at the wall for him....that was awesome. (Especially the crazy old man giving blessings and then asking for some sheckels :) )

i loved my bat mitzvah!!! my theme was monopoly and we basically turned the whole reception room into a giant monopoly board! well not really, but close!!

I wish I had some good freinds that were Jewish just so I could have gone to one. I think I am secretly wishing I were jewish.

when i was 13, i was going to at least one every week, if not more! they were so fun!

Sure, the bar mitzvah was fun, but the six months + of more than weekly hebrew and cantor lessons/practice wasn't!

But hey, the presents and $$$ made it worth it (evil grin)

Hey I'm not Jewish but there's someone in my ancestry that was Jewish and then forced to convert to Catholicism
I wear the Star of David that was given to her by her Jewish boyfriend
I babysit for a lot of Jewish families and this is how I ended up interested again

I went to a Bar and a Bat Mitzvah when I was a girl. They didn't have themes. There was a cotton candy machine at one which was cool! :cool:

I think in Milwaukee it's definatly BAT.

Bar and Bat Mitzahs are not about the parties. It is the coming of age and reading of the Torah. I have been to many themed parties. One was a Purim theme, another a beach theme, and a "spring" one.

The coolest themed bar mitzvah i attended was a "Cinderella's Going to the Ball" theme. The invitations were hand delivered to us in white boxes and were printed on statin in pink with lace edging. The party was at the new tower of the Century Plaza Hotel right after it opened in the pink marble ballroom. It was black tie and we all wore floor length dresses (mine was my favorite it was pink floor length satin with a full skirt and lace trim).

She actually had a gorgeous carriage in the foyer that we took pix in and all of the servers were dressed in period. It was so cool!

I think it's a big thng here in Louisville because we have a semi-large Jewish community
And the weird thing about it is that some of these Jewish kids go to Christian schools
That's how I get invited to them
When I get an invitation in the mail, I'm always like 'Hmmm. . .'
