Hunting Women? sick. SICK!!!!!

I can't believe this shit, it's like a psycho training ground:

Bizarre Game Targets Women: Hunting for Bambi

Warning: The content and video in this story may be offensive to viewers.

(July 10) -- It's a new form of adult entertainment, and men are paying thousands of dollars to shoot naked women with paint ball guns. They're coming to Las Vegas to do it. This bizarre new sport has captured the attention of people around the world, but Channel 8 Eyewitness News reporter LuAnne Sorrell is the only person who has interviewed the game's founder.

George Evanthes has never been hunting. "Originally I'm from New York. What am I going to hunt? Squirrels? Someone's cats? Someone's dogs? I don't think so," said Evanthes. Now that he's living in Las Vegas, he's finally getting his chance to put on his camouflage, grab a rifle and pull the trigger. But what's in his scope may surprise you. He's not hunting ducks or deer, he's hunting naked woman.

"I've done this three times," says Nicole, one of the three women allowing themselves to be shot at. Two other women, Gidget and Skyler, claim they have done this seven times.

Hunting for Bambi is the brainchild of Michael Burdick. Men pay anywhere from $5000 to $10,000 for the chance to come to the middle of the desert to shoot what they call "Bambis" with a paint ball gun. Burdick says men have come from as far away as Germany. The men get a video tape of their hunt to take home and show their friends.

Burdick says safety is a concern, but the women are not allowed to wear protective gear -- only tennis shoes.

Burdick says hunters are told not to shoot the women above the chest, but he admits not all hunters follow the rules. "The main goal is to be as true to nature as possible. I don't go deer hunting and see a deer with a football helmet on so I don't want to see one on my girl either," said Burdick.

The paint balls that come out of the guns travel at about 200 miles-per-hour. Getting hit with one stings with clothes on, and when they hit bare flesh, they are powerful enough to draw blood.

Evanthes shot one of the women and says, "I got the one with the biggest rack."

Gidget is the one who took the paint ball shot to the rear. She says, "It hurt. It really hurt. I didn't think it was going to be that bad." When asked if she cried she says,"yeah, a little bit."

So why do women agree to strip down and run around the desert dodging paint balls? Nicole says it's good money. "I mean it's $2,500 if you don't get hit. You try desperately not to and it's $1000 if you do," said Nicole.

The men and women say this is all good, clean fun, but in Part 2 of this special report, reporter LuAnne Sorrell speaks with a psychologist who says for some men playing out this sexual aggression may lead to other more violent acts against women.

that is very disturbing.

Was blasting this on his radio show. Of course, some of his sicko listeners were sending e-mails asking for details.

The1calledTKE 07-15-2003 03:05 PM

Hunting women? Sounds like hurting the hell out fo the women if they get hit. Why the women would agree to run around naked and get "hunted" for any amount of money I have idea. I guess it's better than hard work..

By the way they are showing the story on cnn headline news. Crazy stuff!

DZHBrown 07-15-2003 03:07 PM

I heard about that on the radio this morning. I think anyone who would participate - both men and women - are sick and pathetic.

KillarneyRose 07-15-2003 03:08 PM

I'm pretty tolerant but this is sick stuff!

DeltAlum 07-15-2003 03:10 PM

Every time I think we've stooped about as low as we can, someone proves me wrong.

no kidding.. why do i feel that sometimes society is moving backwards?!

while reading that article, i pictured cavemen.

I think it's awful, and sick, and disrespectful, and you know what, just put down every negative word in the dictionary and list them as what I think about it.

And yet somehow, when "disembodying" myself from my emotions, I think I have an idea of why these women would do this.

It's not exactly a great time in this country to make money at a desk job, if you can FIND a desk job. These women can make 1000 bucks a day(and if they "escape" the hunters, more than double), which is a hell of alot more than they could working as a cashier at Burger King, or in most office jobs. It's a big trade-off, but...it's money, and who knows how desperate(or greedy) they are to get it.

Yeah, I think that to a large extent it all comes down to the mula...and the disturbed f*$%s who take advantage of these women's need to make a fast buck.

GMUBunny 07-15-2003 03:22 PM

Yuck yuck yuck!!!!! How can anyone find any sort of pleasure in this?!? I've gotta agree with DeltAlum. Just when you think we've hit rock bottom, some idiots come along and keep digging... I'm officially disturbed now, and it takes a lot to even shock me.

In the case of these women not being able to find a job... I'd rather see them get employed at a strip club or something more respectable than this if they need money that bad. At least patrons at a club aren't shooting them with paintballs. Yes, in the grand scheme of things, being a dancer isn't looked upon as positive, but I sure as hell think it's better than being a moving target!!!

Kevlar281 07-15-2003 03:27 PM

I am a little surprised that the women don’t wear face shields. One paint ball to the eye and she’s going to have a disability for life. I could understand how women would be offended by this story but for a chance to make that kind of money I would do it in a second.

Yeah, I agree on that one, I wonder if this whole hunting crap is illegal in any way? I mean, they're actually being physically injured, the paint ball is breaking the skin, I don't understand how this can just be going on without any legal holdups...but I'm not a lawyer, and I hear that pretty much anything is allowed in Vegas...

Welcome to Nevada, home of the free.

The article suggesting that this could "lead to violent acts in the future" is kind of funny. Exactly what do they base that statement on? Has a social scientist written a paper entitled "The Womanhunt: Men who shoot naked women with paintball guns and their tendancies towards violence"?

Yeah, the guys that do this are pretty sick. However, if these women are willing to take the risk of being shot with a paintball gun, more power to 'em I guess. Who's the real sucker anyway? The woman that takes $1000 to get shot in the ass with a paintball gun? Or the fella that pays $5K-$10K to shoot them?

Are ya'll aware that people hang themselves (by their skin) on meathooks as a form of sexual pleasure? This really doesn't even come close.

CutiePie2000 07-15-2003 03:42 PM

I don't know...this thing sounds like it is one city block away from snuff porn.

CatStarESP4 07-15-2003 03:45 PM

That is f*cking sick! I wonder how would these guys like it if the tables were turned. I agree with DeltAlum, just when I think society sinks low, they sink to an even lower level!

sugar and spice 07-15-2003 04:42 PM

Ouch! I can't imagine how badly that would hurt . . . Something tells me that stripping would be a better career choice.

Any guy who would do this makes me kind of sick, too. What's so sexy about injuring a woman who is pretty much defenseless? Even if she agrees to it . . . if you take it down to its basic roots this is pretty disturbing.

OUlioness01 07-15-2003 05:02 PM

this is disgusting and humiliating! i cna't understadn why any woman would want to do that. at least stripping is in a relatively safer enviroment. i would never ever even think of participating in this, not for $1,000,000 and sure as hell not for $1,000

kafromTN 07-15-2003 06:51 PM

What, y'all don't hunt women? I hunt women all the time. I guess the only difference is that I don't shoot them, but I get rejected so maybe shooting them with a paintball might just work. :)huaahahah

But seriously, if they want to do it let them. I mean who are we to judge? Yes it might qualify as sick, but does it harm the rest of society? I don't think it does, I mean the women make at least $1000 and the people who pay to hunt the women are putting more money into the economy than I am.

-Do I think it's degrading to the men and women? Yes
-Would I do it?No
-Would I suggest others to do it? No
-Do I think the people should learn how to really hunt and if by chance they do kill a deer, elk, or any other type of wild game and they don't want to eat it they should give it to charity to feed the homeless? Yes

swissmiss04 07-15-2003 06:56 PM

Does it strike anyone else that now stripping is considered more respectable than something? I'm w/ Deltalum, we've stooped to a new low. And I pity the parents of the participants on both sidees. It's a shame when 5000 dollars is spend on such sh*t when there's so many starving people in the world.

She used that, I recall, for "Joe Millionaire." This paintball crap is not cool.

valkyrie 07-15-2003 08:15 PM

This is why I want to go live in a little house in the mountains and never have contact with "humanity" for the rest of my life. Yikes.

CC1GC 07-15-2003 09:15 PM

I'm with Kevlar, i don't see this as shocking as it sounds. This isn't as bad as taking homeless people into the woods and killing them, which has been done in other parts of the world.

What is exactly so wrong with it?

Well, for one thing, it's dangerous. Then, it's demeaning. But most worrisome to me is the idea of people stalking naked people with guns. Kind of takes what may not be a healthy action to begin with and takes it to it's basest element.

I know that some people really do stalk other people, but they're put in jail if they're caught -- unless, of course they're in the military or law enforcement -- then they get a pass.

Go back to sleep, James, while I go find a life.

Damn, I always DON'T listen to the Jungle when the Us Soccer Team is in a tourney, so I missed that.

steelepike 07-16-2003 02:58 AM

i am not shocked that it happens, I just think its something i wouldn't do. Ah to have enough money to waste it on shooting women with paintballs for $5000 bucks. If i had that kind of money i wouldn't be doing that.

ZTAMiami 07-16-2003 10:39 AM

This is so disgusting. A man who would pay money and get a kick out of this is obviously a man with violent tendencies towards women. I definitely put part of the blame on the women who do this, but the fact that there is a demand for this sort of thing period is highly disturbing.

AZpinkkittie 07-16-2003 11:07 AM

I nearly choked when I heard about this. You'd think that if prostitution is illegal (the girls may be degraded but at least they aren't getting SHOT!) then shouldn't this be as well? This amazes me, we (as society) are getting all huffy about women breast feeding in public, but naked women are running around the desert getting shot, and it's all ok. *sigh*

Ginger 07-16-2003 11:18 AM

It looks like this may just be another Urban Legend (albeit, a fairly new one)

sugar and spice 07-16-2003 11:20 AM

For any of yall who say this "isn't that bad," you've got to be kidding me:

- woman is forced to get naked (i.e., woman is pretty much defenseless)
- man "hunts" her (i.e., he holds the power and the upper hand and gets some sort of pleasure, sexual or otherwise, out of injuring her)
- despite the fact that she gets hurt, woman still does it because she wants the money (i.e., she sticks with it because receives some sort of benefit from the man even though he hurts her)

It just strikes me as way too close to domestic abuse for comfort. It definitely strikes me as something that could encourage men to be abusive towards women and look down upon them as being nothing but naked T & A that's put there for them to do whatever they want to it. Like AZpinkkittie said, it's basically prostitution, but instead of selling their bodies for sex they're selling it for violence. And while sex isn't inherently bad, violence is -- which makes this way worse than prostitution in my book.

That kind of TV is very embarrassing, I agree completely. The premise is stupid -- why would guys who appear on paper to have game (Alex, Aaron and Andrew of the Bachelor in particular -- NOT Joe Millionaire or FLOM guy) go on TV to pull?  More importantly, why would the women choose to do that? Dunno.

Only thing I watch regularly is Sex and the City, along with TV sports.

CutiePie2000 07-16-2003 12:12 PM

Besides this being totally warped and alludes to snuff-like activities.....

Couldn't someone die from this? I've heard of kids in baseball games dying because the ball hit them square in the chest and it did a number on their heart (Yes, it's rare but it *has* happened). Wouldn't this also be possible from a 200 MPH paintball if it hit a woman square in the chest? (i.e. directly on top of her heart)

CNN did a piece on it yesterday. If it's not for real, some folks spent a lot of $ making it look like it was.

HMMMMMNN! Verrry interesting! I really wouldnt be suprised if it was just a big hoax. But then again I wouldnt be suprised if it was real. People need to find better ways to spend their money.
