What's your favorite exit song?
so there's a big thread on our favorite songs and cheers for every chapter, but what's everyone's favorite exit song (cheers set to the tune of popular music used at the end of rush parties)? mine is to the tune of the Oscar Mayer commercial:
Oh I wish I were an Alpha Chi Omega That is what I'd really love to be! Cause if I were an Alpha Chi Omega Everyone would want to meet me! there's another verse, but i forget it...it always makes me hungry! |
we have one to the tune of oscar Meyer song also, but we don't really use it any more.
My sorority has a first name it's Sigma My sorority has a second name it's Kappa I can never remember the middle part If you ask me why I'll say because Sigma Kappa has a way of making me feel A -okay. |
My favorite is "A Zeta Goodnight"
A Zeta Goodnight Goodnight Goodnight Well it's time to go A Zeta Goodnight Goodnight Goodnight Well it's time to go (A Zeta Goodnight) We hate to leave you but we really must say Goodnight from ZTA |
Linger... it maybe over used... but I like it...
Ummhumm I want to linger Umm humm a little longer.. a little longer here with you.. umm humm it's such a perfect night.. Umm humm it doesn't seem quite righ if it's the last I spend with you.. |
Will You Wear Our Anchor? is my favorite! :D

Come,
Come, Come be a Sigma, Sigma Kappa Come be a Sigma Kappa Girl We are Sigma, Sigma Kappas We wear Sigma Kappa Pearls Mystic Bond, That binds a Sigma, Friendship true, We offer you, you, you So, Come be a Sigma, Sigma Kappa Come be a Sigma Kappa Girl We are Sigma, Sigma Kappas We wear Sigma Kappa Pearls __________________ |
my favorite is the one we sing at pref. when i went as a pnm it just made me happy that all the girls took it to heart. this song just gets to me cuz im so sappy! the tune is to one of elvis song but i forget which one. here it is
violets and the whitest pearls are dear to me as a sigma girl take my hand and ill show to you that sigma k will forever true ::tear tear:: |
A fun one....
(to the tune of It's a Small World) It's a place of love you can call your own Kappa Delta friendship wh're your roam We extend you a hand, we all think it'd be grand if you joined us in KD! Come and wear our diamond pin Kappa Delt will take you in Sisters true we all will be Won't you join KD? We sing the KD Lullaby for the more serious exits |
Quote:
we also sing Sigma K Sigma K oh we live one heart, one way there's a spirit in the air it's a bond we learn to share Sigma K Sigma K Oh we live one heart, one Way there's a place for you right here at Sigma K. |
I'm sure PNMs love getting the tune of It's a Small World stuck in their heads, but I think that's an adorable song.
My favorite is one we call Dream A While- Dream a while of Kappa ever true, Dream of her and she will be with you, Dream of friendship through the years, Dream of days, their joys and tears, Now it's time that you and I must part, So take this dream and place it in your heart, Keep it dear until in time, We will meet again. It has a really haunting, pretty melody I love. |
My favorite goes like this:
Kappa Kappa Gamma is not only a word to me, Or just a Golden Key or a Fleur-de-lys, Or the Blue & Blue, or the Wise Old Owl. It's the bondage of sisterhood within loyalty, It's the womanhood in sincerity, But mainly it's the Spirit of KKG. |

My favorite AOII songs:
Remem, remem-member, AOII, sisters forever Laughing, Singing, doing whatever we have fun when we're together Remem, remem-member, AOII, sisters forever Laughing, Singing, doing whatever we have fun when we're together we sing this song as the PNMs leave the house after first and second round and we snap while we sing it --------- AOII (we scream AOII) Welcome, rushee, welcome rushee from the friendly girls of AOII we're glad to meet you, we're glad to greet you, so come on in we'll show you why! We're really neat we can't be beat, cause we are AOII, some come on in and make a friend in AOII Welcome, rushee, welcome rushee from the A-O-A-O-IIs Here at Ole Miss we stack our front doors with all of the members and swing the door open and sing to the PNMs....then we run outside screaming one PNMs name and grab them and bring them into the house and then we start our parties. |

there's an AOII who is smiling
and her eyes are too there's an AOII who is waiting waiting just for you there's an AOII who will never want a soul but you there's an AOII who is whipering sweetheart, we want you ...ok, i cant remeber if the last line is "we want you" or if its something else, cuz that sounds kinda funny. with our sisters we say, "we love you" but thats not appropriate during rush so we changed it to something else, but i cant remeber what it is now! lol |
We have one that I loved but hasen't been used in a few years. Probably hasn't been used because it is super 80's and cheesy but always worked well for us!
My oh my it's time to say good bye 'cause it's really getting kind of late But before you go we want you to know that the AOII's think your great Well we think you're swell and to you we tell that the alpha's know you the best and so Hurry back please do until then aidu from the AOII's to all of you! |
Possibly my very fave KD song ever is "Dream Tonight." We use if as our exit song at Prefs - when I went through Prefs, it was stuck in my head all night!
"Always think of KD when you hear this melody. We'll be wishing you goodnight in sleepy harmony. May days all be bright ones, may cares all be light ones, Tonight while moonlight beams. Dream tonight of Kappa Delta, we will dream of you. And when daylight comes again, our love will still be true. So whisper goodnight dear, In stillness may you hear, the Kappa Delta song of dreams." We also sing this during a special big/lil thing. I LOVE this song! |
Hee! Yeah, Shaedy! That's my fav too! It definitely sitcks with the PNMs! The moment they were out the door, we would start singing it all goofy sultry with these crazy motions. :) I wish that you were here so I could show you!
I also like K-K-Kappa D-D-Delta K-Kappa D-Delta That's the house for me! Hey! |
Sorry to intrude, but when I went through rush another fraternity invited me to their smoker (serious) night. Fraternity no.2 had Brothers sing a Gaelic Blessing in a glee club-esque way before the event was over. At first, I thought the singing thing was kinda weird, but the actual song was touching. I think it works for sororities too...
Gaelic Blessing May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall upon your fields and until we meet again until we meet again may the sun shine warm upon your face until we meet again May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall upon your fields So until we meet again until we meet again may you live long in the heart ofyour home until we meet again |
DG Songs
Anchor in your Eye
Do I see an anchor in your eye An anchor of light and love Do I hear you confess Delta Gamma is best And you'll hold her all other's above Do I see a love of Delta G that will linger as time goes by For an anchor so true Is waiting for you If there's an anchor in your eye... side note: placing an actual anchor in your eye maybe quite dangerous. LOL :D :D :D Here is "Will you wear our Anchor?" Will you wear our anchor Will you be the one Who will be our new sister When morning comes Will you sail tomorrow On the Delta G To new harbors of friendship That you've yet to see Our Captian is calling Soon you will be gone But remember that DG Is where you belong Will you wear our anchor Wear our pin with pride Will you be our new sister You must decide... |

Oh, duh! How could I forget my favorite Pref exit song? I learned it from ImsohappythatIama last year.
And now at the end of the week Please stop and think about what you seek. Our sisterhood so true would be glad to welcome you; Come be a wearer of the Golden Key. And our sisterhood will be stronger then, Sharing Kappa love and loyalty. You're each a special friend; don't let it end. Come be a KKG. We'll pick you up when you're feeling down. We'll wipe away your tears when you cry. We'll share with you all the happiness you've found, Reflections of the joy in your eyes. And our sisterhood will be stronger then, Sharing Kappa love and loyalty. You're each a special friend; don't let it end. Come be a KKG. |

We also do a version of "My Oh My" like the AOII one: My oh my, oh my it's time to say goodbye Cause it's really gettin kind of late (clap clap) But before you go we want you to know That the Zetas think you're great (clap clap) *Well we think you're swell and to you we tell That we all agree you're the best indeed* Hurry back, please do, until then adieu From the Zetas to all of you (clap clap) From the Zetas to all of you *We harmonize that part, some girls going up and some down. It sounds really cool :)* |
aww cute songs to all of u ladies ....
I would say my fav. song would be "Count on me" by whitney houston. the lyrics are special and it lets the potentials see how close the sisters are. Count on me through thick and thin, a friendship that will never end when you are weak I will be strong helping you to carry on Call on me I will be there, don't be afraid please believe me when I say count on... you kno the rest ....lol |
I love that song! From the "Waiting to Exhale" soundtrack

Exit songs....BLECH! I thought they were creepy and got stuck in your head way too easily. Even a month after I pledged ADPi, I was still humming Gamma Phi's exit song to myself. Some that particularly stand out:
-One sorority that shall remain nameless sang this song that went"Walk walk and talk talk and live live Alpha Beta Gamma" (they weren't actually ABG) which would have been an ok (if slighlyt repetitive) by itself, but while they were walking girls out, they would swing their arms from right to left and snap while singing this song very quietly but smiling really weird. It totally had a cult vibe. Then, once everyone was outside, they started shouting the song. Creeeeeee-py. -The song that my chapter sings has alternate lyrics. We have changed some words so that when we sing it on our own, the lyrics are talking about how we are going to steal girls from our rival house. The alternate version really pumps us up before rush parties. -During DG's exit song last year, they were moving the shutters and banging on the windows like they always do, except the window broke and two girls fell out! The girls were fine, but at the same time it was really funny. No one wanted to be seen laughing though because the sisters could still see us! Truly an interesting moment. |
My favorite goodbye song is....
The Alpha Chi Omega sisters say goodbye to you We have had a real good time we hope you've had one to Even though it's time to go our hearts will go with you The Alpha Chi Omega sisters say goodbye to you! Sung to the tune of Supercalifragi.....You get it right? It used to be "the girls of Alpha Chi omega say goodbye" but because of Panhel rules at the UA we can't the word girls so we changed it. And Shopgirl, that song ALWAYS gets stuck in my head. It got stuck there when I was a freshman and then again last year when I was a Rho Chi. In fact since my girls were convinced I was a Sigma Kappa (your chapter in fact!) when we were thinking of how we were gonna reveal ourselves at the end of the week we thought of singing a door song from the chapter that most of them thought we were from and that was the song that I was gonna sing. |

I have two favorite exit songs.
The first goes Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye Good-bye to you from Pi Beta Phi And when you're home and safe in bed With Pi Phi spirit running through your head And when you wake, you'll know it's true Pi Phi needs a sister like you Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye Good-bye to you from Pi Beta Phi I only really like this song because we used to think that the words went "with Pi Phi spirits running through your head." Whenever we had to sing it we would just crack up because we were imagining ghosts of the founders floating through the dorms telling the pnms to pick Pi Phi. I think that we were so loopy after the workshops and parties that pretty much ANYTHING would crack us up. My REAL favorite exit song is Remeber the Golden Arrow. It's really pretty (and it is perfect for pref night!). It is one of the songs that makes me cry almost every time that I hear it! |
exit songs
We use two and I love both. The first ones for the first three days and the seconds for pref. The first ones super upbeat and sticks in your head for days and the second ones very hauntingly beautiful.
alpha xi delta is so glad you came, we hope tomorrow you'll be back again, the time will go by so quickly soon you'll see, you want to be an alpha xi DELTA remember alpha xi deltla, remember when your away, remeber how great it would be to wear a golden quill someday, remember no matter what happens our gold and double blue, remember alpha xi delta and we will remember you |
Quote:
GB, GB, GB, GB (obviously goodbye but I'm lazy) GB to you from Gamma Phi, And when you're home asleep in bed, Gamma Phi dreams running through your head. And when you're awake, you'll know it's true, Gamma Phi wants a sister like you... It is sooo catchy! They sang it my first or second night of recruitment and I could not get it out of my head! We also do remember with our linger chant, which is another one that sticks, and we sing "Tonight" at the end of pref which always gets stuck in my head: Tonight while the crescent moon shines in the sky, I'll think of the love found in dear Gamma Phi, A million tomorrows shall all pass us by, Ere I forget the true friendships we've found tonight... I will be loyal and show that I care, You'll know who I am by the pin that I wear. To each of my sisters I'll always be true, And share joys and tears with you.... However I can't wait to hear that sung by another chapter as mine is somewhat tone deaf and I didn't help. I also LOVE our candlepass song, called "I See the Moon," but we haven't done a candlepass in 10 years so I only half-know the words. |
OK, it's been a while, but I think this is how it goes:
My, oh my It's time to say goodbye It's really getting kinda late. But before you go, We want you to know The Alpha Phis think you're great. You smiled so well, we liked you so well We all agreed, you're the best indeed Hurry back real soon, til the adieu From the Alpha Phis to all of you Boom boom, boom boom, boom boom boom boom It was really cute. We sang it in a quick, sing songy kind of way while we moved our arms back and forth and snapped our fingers. |
My favorite one is called Way down yonder:
way down yonder where the devil rules, You won't find an AOII among those fools, you'll find us up in the heavens above with our wings locked together in sisterly love, We gotta A, L, P-H-A gotta O-M-I-C-R-O-N gotta P, I , AOII we'll be sisters til we die We always sing "Goodbye" to the tune of "Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho" Goodbye, Goodbye so long from AOII The time has come to end our fun, Goodbye, Goodbye from AOII, we say, come back another day We're glad you came don't forget our name is AOII |
We sang the coke song too! After a while, I competely hated it, and coke comercials too. We altered it a bit more to suit our house, but I forget all the specific words, but something like:
The pearls will always shine, The doves will always sing, Wherever there is fun, there's always Sigma Kappa... |
for my night, we're singing 'goodnight rushees'
it's from the 'goodnight sweetheart' good night rushee well, it's time to go good night rushee well, it's time to go we hate to leave you but we really must say good night rushee good night or the ever popular 'linger' mmm-mmm i want to linger mmm-mmm a little longer mmm-mmm a little longer here with you(snap snap) mmm-mmm it's such a perfect night mmm-mmm it doesn't seem quite right that it's the last we'll spend with you (snap snap) (repeat till all the girls are gone) |
goodnight goodnight
Alpha Gam says goodnight to you goodnight goodnight Alpha Gam says goodnight to you and then there is more but I forgot... it is really sweet and we only did it one year but I love it. AGD has the coke songs but I think we use it to sing you in. I have been trying for years to come up with words for that Goodnight sweetheart song. I never thought about using Rushees... we try too hard to be PC and it really takes the fun out of Rush sometimes. I am really surprised that I am the first AGD to post on this thread.... go figure. |
here's my fav - mostly cause it's catchy and fun -
Alllllll - pha Gaaaa - mma Delta says goodbye to you We are sad to see you go, but soon you will be back we know! We're Alpha Gams and we're proud of our sorority it's so great! so don't wait! to be an Alpha Gam HEY! marissa |
