Greeks in your workplace
Hi...I have noticed that there are a lot of Greeks at my workplace! Have any of ya'll noticed the same? I think that is great. Many are still very involved with alum chapters!
Here goes my list of GLO's at my work: Boss: She was an A K A My other boss was a Tri Delt at a college in Kentucky! Alpha Phi Alpha Xi Delta Sigma Sigma Sigma AOPi (ME!) Not sure about any of the guys... I am a teacher and there are a lot more females where I work (elem school) Greeks unite!!! |
No, I am the only Greek here.
All the rest belong to GDI |
I've worked at two elementary schools before. AT one school, the only greek was an 8th grade teacher who was a Theta, and at the other school, the principal was a Sigma Pi at SDSU, and one of the afterschool program workers is a Sigma Chi.
|
LOL, Cutie Pie!!!
I love the Greek letters for GDI. I had Never thought of using the letters for it, though its prolly been on here before!!!AOPi Delta Sig Stan, are you a teacher too? That's great! |
Well, the only ones I know of here are me (ASA), a DZ, and a Beta (he wore a golf shirt w/ a crest one day). There was another ASA here but she left. Oh, and my boss is a Beta Iota Tau CHi LOL.
|
LMAO 33Girl!!!
I have to remember that! That is funny in a way without being too crass. I love both of my bosses. They are so cool. Both younger and they understand the younger people just starting out. My boss is very proud to be an AKA, she has a huge plaque in her office. I think it is great to be so proud of your sisterhood, or brotherhood. A lot of people think that once you graduate college, that is it. I have had GDI's tell me its childish to still be involved with "college Stuff", but to me it is special...a bond for life! AOPi |
I have 3 former coworkers who were greek. One a Kappa, one a Tri Sigma and one an ASA.I have clients who are Alpha Phi ,Phi Delt, and Sigma Gamma Rho.
|
At my job there is... an Alpha Gam (me), ADPi, Sigma Chi, Delta Sigma Phi (2) and they're used to be a Theta Phi Alpha and an ATO. I know we have a couple more outh there too. I believe a DST.

The only way to identify greeks at my workplace is to spot their cars. Which means only the young ones that still have letters on their cars. (Except me :D ). But I know one really nice girl here she is a Zeta from UT, she has since gotten a new car (no sticker). There is a car in the parking lot with a Texas A&M Chi Omega sticker. I don't know who that is yet. I am always on the lookout, LOL.
|
During my student teaching, I worked with two supervisinig teachers. Both are greek - one a Pi Phi and one a Alpha Phi. A handful of other teachers are greek also.
|
At my work place there are a lot of greeks - a Kappa, a DG, a Sigma Chi, 2 Betas, a Kappa Sig and a Deke.
|
One of the girls in the office where I intern is a Theta Phi Alpha.
I know there has to be more Greeks; After all I do work at City Hall....but no one seems to admit it. Although I carry my bag with letters on it and often wear my pin. |
i work at a restaurant and the only greeks working htere are still in school. we have a Phi Mu (me), a Phi Mu Alpha, and the third is an Alpha Phi Kappa which is a local at Wilmington College

There is a Delta Sigma Phi (Florida Tech, for Stan) at work with me (and by the way, if anyone watched the ABC special on Columbia on Monday, he was apparently interviewed extensively), and I've seen a woman with a Delta Sigma Theta license plate driving around. But so far, that is all that I've noticed. |
The place I was most recently working at only had me (DZ), a Sigma Kappa and an Alpha Phi Alpha....
|
in our 10 person office, there is a DG.
|
I used to work in Alumni Relations for Georgetown, and the Greek thing never came up much....I know for sure there was a Sigma Gamma Rho there. One of my other coworkers was in an NPC sorority in college, but I can't remember the letters. I know it wasn't a two-letter sorority, but that's as far as my memory goes.
|
from what i know there are two sigma kappas- both from lock haven, a chi o from somewhere in ny state, an ASA from moravian, and a kappa from a school down south and me!
|
The only ones I know is an AKA and a Pike.
|
a few here....
I am a grad student so my place of 'work' is graduate school and in my department, other than myself, there is an AKA and a Chi O, both grad students too, and an AGD, she is one of our administrators for the department.
There are alot more greek students in the medical school but I don't know them, I just see them wearing a t-shirt or sweater from time to time. |
i work with a sigma pi from ASU and he is a kick. he cracks me up. the rest are fresh outta high school or GDIs... although one of my bosses went to sac state but didnt mention a sorority. i have a feeling some of them were part of one at one point.
|
well at school, there is me...and a chi o, but she is changing schools in the fall. that is it!
at my part-time job at the pool, i am the NOT the only greek. i just found out today (when edited) that one of the girls at the desk is an AEPhi. she is so excited because she just got an invite to an alum event in boston! since initially posted this, a bunch of people have come to work out wearing letters... kappa alpha theta, pi phi, and axo!!! |
Hmm... I just started a new job, so I haven't really figured out everyone's affiliations yet. I know one coworker is a Tri-Delta because she has a bunch of Tri Delta picture frames in her office. Oh, and I learned today that the chairman of the board's late mother was a founding member of AOPi at Vanderbilt.

In my office (there's only about 12 of us)-- there's me (AGD), the plant engineer (KA, if I remember correctly), the plant manager (I am not sure-he's only been there a couple of months but he had his college ring on one day and I noticed there were letters on it). And the other greek in my office is my boss, also an Alpha Gam.
I worked for my boss 2 years when she randomly mentioned she was an Alpha Gam also. (yes, she used the word "was"). She knows I am involved and is very accomodating if I need to leave early to take care of anything AGD related. -wendi **edited for spelling** |
Two of the senior partners at my law firm are Greek. On is a Lambda Chi Alpha from South Dakota U. The other went to MIT but I do not know what fraternity he is in.
|
I work at Victoria's Secret and I know we have an alpha gam, an achio, and quite a few more (although I don't know what house!) :)
|
For sure, I know that I'm a Kappa Delta and one of the coordinators on another study is an Alpha Chi Omega who went to University of Wisconsin-Madison. I'm almost sure that an Alpha Phi Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, and Alpha Kappa Alpha work somewhere at the hospital because everyday, I'm following one of them up the hill to work!
|
D'oh! I totally forgot that my big sister works here as well. :o
|
My boss is an SAE from U of K,
there was a Pi Phi from U of K but she left. THere is another Pi Phi in the mortgage division. My friend in the mortgage division (marketing coordinator for them) is an ADPi, I am an AGD the CFO (Controller in accounting) is a Sigma Nu from EKU (I think he said they lost their charter shortly after he graduated!). And one of the girls in marketing is an ASA from Murray. Oh, one of our interns is a Sigma Pi???? (two letter fraternity with Sigma) That is all I know of! |
A few!
I worked in an office of about 30 people and I worked with 2 Sigma Kappas, the husband of a Sigma Kappa, and an Alpha Phi. I thought that was pretty good for an office our size.
|
I work in the admissions office of a large university, and there are so many greeks! Not just in our office, but all over campus.
In my office we have: Sigma Sigma Sigma Delta Zeta Sigma Kappa (2) Alpha Gamma Delta Alpha Kappa Alpha Delta Sigma Theta Phi Beta Sigma Pi Kappa Phi Alpha Delta Pi (myself!) It has been so much fun learning about everyone's greek experiences! ~azureblue~ Alpha Delta Pi...first. finest. forever. |
Now that it's summer and everyones home from school there are a lot of greek stickers on the back windows of cars..
Pike (me) AGD ATO Teke SigEp DG KKG ChiO Alpha Phi A Chi O SAE |
There are two Sigma Tau Gamma's in my office that were roommates in college in '79 and ended up working together.
We had a Pike here but he left. There's also an AKPsi and a Delta Sigma Theta. There are a couple of others that I know have Greek affiliations but don't mention or display them. Everyone, even my clients, knows that I'm still active in Zeta and loving it. |
I work in a small commercial real estate office - only 8 of us. The president is a Kappa Sigma from Wake Forest and there are 2 SAE's from Hampden Sidney, a Phi Kappa Sigma from UNC-Charlotte, a Theta Chi from Kansas and I am a Zeta. Not bad, huh? The only others are two women who are not Greek.
|
Since I work in the Student Activities office of a university, you would think there would be more Greeks, but we only have three: Kappa Kappa Gamma, Tri-Sigma, and me a Phi Sigma Kappa. There really aren't too many Greeks in Student Affairs here. I don't know of anyone in Housing who is Greek, but our new Associate Vice-Chancelor of Student Affairs is a FIJI and that makes him about the highest ranking Greek administrator at SIUE.
|
I work in the Financial Aid office of a large university and there is only one other greek that I currently know of, an A Phi.
Honestly, I wish there were more...or that I knew of more. But I don't think that people are greek in my office, some have even kind of turned their noses up at me when they found out that I as greek..:( Oh well, their loss if they don't want to make friends cause I'm greek!:D |
There's a Phi Sigma Sigma who works down the hall from me. I only know that because I see her license plate frame every morning!
I'm sure there are more, but no one really displays it but me!! :D |
I was about to start a thread on this yesterday...
...when I found out that this really cool lady who works with me is an Alpha Phi from the University of Illinois, class of 1996. She noticed my Kappa flip-flops and we had an awesome chat. There are two of us in my seven-person office-- not bad!
|
I work with an SDT, a Chi O, a Phi Kapp, a Kappa, a Theta, 2 other D Phi Es who I didn't know before we worked here and my boss was in a local. I'm sure there are TONS more though.
