I am not looking for songs, not in the normal form, I'm looking for something a little different.... I'm looking for a complete song book that I kinda put together a few years ago. I passed the pc complied listing on to some of y'all out there and I was wondering if anyone may still have a copy of that? OR maybe a compliation that someone else may have done. I know that I sent a copy to Hawaii so maybe one of y'all have it, my island sisters. I lost my copy in a move Or at least I think so and I need a copy.

If any of y'all have a songs on your pc please pass them along to me so that I can add them to the compliation.

Hey I also wanted to ask this question, again.... I was looking at www.alphagam.net for the original question and found something that I don't remember seeing before... someone (I have their name) said that they had a cd of alpha gam songs (ie Sweet Home AL, ect...) and they would make a copy and send it my way... does anyone still have a CD like this? Could I get a copy??? Thanks again!

I don't recall ever getting a copy from you, but I do have a copy of the song binder distributed by IHQ and also the songtape. I just have to look for it somewhere. I don't know where I put it, but it's somewhere here, I know!

I can ask MaiLy (hawaiiagd) if she has stuff too.

Does anyone know the words to "Thank God I'm An Alpha Gam"? It's sung to John Denver's "Thank God I'm a Country Boy. Does anyone use this in a skit? Thanks!!

Okay, welll I haven't found the disk with all the songs on it but I have found my file with all the songs that everyone sent to me... so I will keep looking for the disk. If all else fails I could always type it all over again.

If anyone has the words to any new songs (since 2000) and that John Denver song, please send them my way and I will add them to the data base.

Lori sent me the song book (thanks again, Lori!), and it reminded me that my chapter changed one of the "Always Alpha Gamma" lines, and I wanted to share it with you. We didn't like the "Whenever we walk by, people stop and stare" line, because it could be taken the wrong way (as in ack! what's wrong with her?), so we changed it to "Whenever you need someone, Alpha Gams will care." :)

This is great. Thanks Lori! I wish there was a way to get sound bites to give us the tune to some of these songs. I really would love to start an Alumnae Singing Round and then have that group go to the local college group to teach them the right way to sing some songs and teach them new songs also.

Maybe IHQ will be able to put MP3's of some of the songs on the new website when it's up. That would be really nice!

Getting an alumnae singing group together to teach the collegiate chapter is a really good idea. I know my chapter never sings the hymn correctly, and it really annoys our chapter advisor.

Song Book
 

I've been putting together an AGD song and poem book for a couple years now. I've collected them from all over - my college chapter, internet sites, the last international song book, etc. It has over 200 songs and poems in it now.

I plan on bringing a copy to convention and I can burn it on CDs for anyone who is interested and wants to get it there. It is pretty large, but I'd be willing to send copies out to email addresses, just send me a private message.

I'd like to keep updating it, so if I do send it to you and you come across additional songs, please let me know.

Hey GT_AGD do you think that you could burn it to cd for those of us not going to convention...please?

I would be willing to finance the job. Just let me know. I would like to compare notes and see if I have anything different to add to the collection!
