When we met, I was 25 and Mr. Carnation was 28.
We knew each other for 7 months before he popped the question--with "So why don't we get married?" as we were putting on our shoes. (Real romantic moment.) We were engaged for 11 months. |

21 - we both were, although I had just turned 21 3 weeks earlier. How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped? 4 years 5 months...we even lived together for 2.5 of those years!! It was very aggrivating!! :mad: How long was the engagement? Engaged on Valentine's Day and married Nov. 6th -- I can't do math right now....long day! We will celebrate (or should I say CELIBATE with the kid around!) 9 years of "dating" in September, and 4 years of "marriage" (the anti-dating!) in November! Carnation -- yeah, real romantic with the shoes thing :D At least you didn't spend an hour and a half on the seawall in Beaufort, SC debating on whether or not we could make this work, knowing that he had the ring already, and that we had lived together for so long!!! I was so frustrated with that boy!!! |

I was 20 and he was 21 when we first met in August 1986. How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped? Question was formally popped 8 months after we met, during Easter weekend 1987. How long was the engagement? 13 months, with the last 6 months spent with me in Kentucky and DH in Boston. We just celebrated our 15th anniversary in May, and will be together 17 years this October. |

How old were you when you met your husband/wife? I have a photo of us as babies, and our paths crossed many times growing up, but we officially "met" when I was 17 and he was 16, about to turn 17. How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped? He proposed on April 12, 2003. We started dating on September 7, 1997. In his proposal he even said that the last 5 years, 7 months and 5 days had been the best of his life. How long was the engagement? The engagement will be 13 months and 17 days. Only 11 months to go! :D |

I was 17 and still in high school. I met him at a "prospective" college picnic/fun day. He was a junior at the school and was playing volleyball. I asked if I could play on his team, and he cursed at me. I almost did not go to the college because of it! How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped? We never really dated. He was a friend. I got sick in my first semester at the school and so we decided to get married. How long was the engagement? 1 year :) We have a BIG anniversary this summer! YEAH! Silver |

I was 23 and he was 44 when we met.
He told me within a couple of months that he was going to ask me to marry him, but the actual proposal -- which I thought was a joke -- came on my 25th birthday (August, 2000). The official announcement of our engagement came around Thanksgiving. That was when I got the ring. We were married January 12, 2001. |
When we were first introduced, I was 17 and he was 18. He was no more than a "friend of a friend" to me for the next few years though... I was 20 and he was 21 when we actually started dating.
We got engaged about 10 months after that. Our engagement was just shy of 2-1/2 years. |

He pseudo-proposed within 3 months, but we dated for a little over 3 years before the question was officially popped. I knew my husband was going to be someone really special by our second date. :) How long was the engagement? We were engaged for 18 months--had to wait until after I graduated from law school--and we'll be celebrating our 3rd anniversary next month! :D |

Only 3 weeks, we eloped in May 16, 2003; then had a formal ceremony on July 2, 2003--for the parents. My parents were fine with it and paid. His mother still hates me to this day. |

We've been married for 6 years now. |
