I was trying to get on too! I was so heated! It's not fair to get people addicted to a site like GC and then just randomly snatch it away! So it wasn't just me?

I couldn't get on yesterday in the afternoon myself, so I'm glad that it is back up and running. :)

Ya know Frat, I hate to admit it, but an old gal like me is kinda hooked as well. I'm trying to keep it under wraps, but I was starting to have DT's (of the GC variety). Although I was EXTREMELY busy here at work yesterday, I do like to peek in between students and see what's going on. I couldn't even do that! It was not a good day in the neighborhood! :(

The sad thing is that it didn't take long for me to become addicted. I found the site about 4 months ago, then peeked in once a day, then started checking it out when my husband and daughter were asleep. Then I found that I had only begun to whet my appetite. Soon I found myself checking out the site at work about 2-3 times a day, gradually increasing, then finally bookmarked the site. Now I leave the GC window open and repeatedly refresh the page to see what the latest topic of discussion is. . .

Can someone please help me????? I didn't realize how debilitating GC can be! Maybe some type of behavior modification?

It all began in 2002; I had a fellow soror that told me about Greekchat. I won't say any names, (cough, cough LADYGREEK), but she told me how great this site was.

I was very shy at first. I started off reading, like most of you. Then one day, I saw a very interesting thread topic and decided that I was ready for the posting world. That was the beginning of the addiction. Ever since, I've been stuck to this monitor like it's my television. I can't leave the house in the morning without checking to see who's posted what. SIDEBAR...I really got addicted when Enlightenment06 said he finds singers sexy! ;) Anyway...my posts have increased tremendously! Look for yourselves, I have over 400 posts! Help SOMEBODY PULEAZE HELP!:confused:

I think it started when I registered. I check GC whenever I have a chance: home, work, even on vacation!! I even used to check it during class (MIS) to help me stay awake.

Don't let GC be down. The other day I was so pissed when I could not get on!!:mad:

Hi, I'm Sns,

And I used to be a SERIOUS GCaholic! It all began one afternoon (let me stop lying--it was probably like 3am) in Sept. 2000. Sometimes, I would stay up late and see the sun rise, typin a paper (really I would be on GC). I would check GC at school in the computer lab (minimizing my window to be 1/4th of the size of a computer screen, as to use discretion), at work, etc. numerous times a day. Then school (UnderGrad) got entirely too busy :mad: and began taking up all my time...

But now it's the summer, and as I'm not swamped in activities, orgs, and schoolwork (only a little for summer school), I have rekindled that fire that was almost burned out... ;)

So, now all I have to say is, "Did ya miss me?" Oh, I don't care...It's nice to see Sisterfriends "Crossing Over", and new GC Members reaching that 500th post...:cool:

I am addicted. When im at school I really dont have any time to spend time on GC, but now the summer is here I am always checking the message boards.

Am I on GC too much? Was anybody else having problems getting on? I started having withdrawal again, and it was not a pretty sight!

I was clicking the "refresh" button every few minutes. Went to another site to see if it was my server. Tried to visit other sites, but they had no appeal.

Oh my God, I really need counseling - IM A GCaHOLIC!

Girl, it's not just you!! I was BORED out of my mind at work for 2 hours without GC. I had even tried greekchat.net with no luck! :(

I rebooted my computer three times before I finally accepted GC was down. If I don't have celebrity gossip to spread, I"m just no good! If I don't have GC I have to go to other sites to bide my time and that's detrimental to my credit because I will shop online, forgot what I bought and won't pay the . Next thing I know my card has been declined at the most important times ( like buying a last minute mother's day gift). I was already upset because for some reason I'm not receiving the emails we usually get telling us when someone has responded to a thread you have posted on. I gotta get a life

Suffice it to say I was not happy with it either. But I'm cool now. I took solace in the fact that I knew none of y'all could get on either, so it wasn't like I was missing something. :)
