How Did You Find Out About Greekchat?
 

Hey everyone. I love GC, but it seems alot of my Greek friends don't know about it and I try to spread the word. The way I found out about GC is that one of my friends told me about it right after I crossed. Is GC just a word of mouth thing? How did everyone else get here? Thanks.

Someone mentioned it in the sororitygirl lj community. I think it was squirrelygirl, but I can't really remember for sure.

One of the sisters in our org. told me about it, DGP~Honey....but she doesnt come on here anymore....:(

I found it just prior to rush when I was looking for information on each of the chapters on my campus and general rush information. I put a search in google or yahoo and it took me here. I was so glad to have so much support during formal recruitment that I decided to stay! :D

I was part of the, I think, Greeksource.com. They shut that down and I end up here. Talk bout old school.

I did a yahoo search for sorority and fraternity chat groups just after I was initiated and I found GC.

Ditto - I was moved in at school early and was really bored so I wanted to find out as much information as possible about rush and Gamma Phi Beta, so I was doing Googles and found this. I love GC! I tell a lot of people about it, but nobody ever joins - one SigEp I worked with joined, but he is no longer a SigEp and so won't come back.

I joined because of you, GeekyPenguin! You've recruited at least one person. :)

Same here! I was trying to remember and your post jogged my memory!

The alumna webmaster for my chapter had the link on our chapter website, and I decided to check it out one day after I graduated...now I can't get enough of it (thanks, Kate! :))

i think someone posted something on our private side about something they saw here. i checked out the site, lurked a little and now i am addicted. it is only going to get worse now that i have my entire summer free....uhhhhh.

Lurked for a LONG while and when I joined Beta Sigma Phi, I joined...been addicted ever since

I had a friend whose daughter was going to rush and I was looking for info. for her. I got interested and kept coming back. Glad I did since that's how I found out about AI.:)

p.s. the daughter ended up deciding not to rush, but I may have found a home!!

Found it on Lycos or something, lurked for a while, then jumped on in.

I honestly don't remember! I do know I was immediately hooked, though!

I came aboard right after TKE209 pinned me. I had some questions about it and some how I found the TKE forum, then I gradually ventured to the other forums. :)

I did an internet search. I checked out this site and other greek message boards for a while. I finally joined.

I found out about GC after doing a BSP search on google.com (a link through one of the BSP chapter's webpage). I surfed GC for a week before posting.:)

I was google searching something pertaining to Alpha Gam. And a thread here at GreekChat was a result. I clicked on the result, and now I need a daily fix of GC everyday. :D

Before I rushed I did what I always do…research. When I initially registered I would only post in Chit Chat or Rush; when I finally received a bid I started posting in Greek Life.

I found it through Greekpages.com. I joined a loooonnnggggg time ago, created a nick, never posted, then forgot my pw & GC. A couple years later, I'm back. And I'm an addict. :)

When I was trying to start a local a couple of years ago with some friends of mine (who decided they didn't want to put in the work, which means it didn't happen) and I just typed in Greek chat in the address bar because I figured there had to be something like it. I wasn't expecting such a wonderful "place" with such an awesome group of people! :)

I feel you completely. I tell my friends about GC but they don't join. I figure the more the merrier, I like having a wealth of different perspectives.

My pal AXOAlum kept telling me about the great stuff she was reading on here (I was recruitment advisor for my chapter at the time). I'm glad I finally checked it out -it is great to get so many perspectives on matters!

Exactly. I think it would be broadening for girls from my init. chapter - because we are the only NPC group and have no NPHC orgs on campus. It'd be nice to have them be exposed to other things. Oh well...maybe I can get some people at the new school to join! :D

I have talked to not only Brothers of LXA, but many of the GC members who want to Ma Bell! This gives me a treasure trove of information of insights of other Greek Organizations and who they are, how they work and the History! The People who were not able get join in who are doing AI, (Check Alum Thread), The Question that were asked and answered, the work that was done to do it to help other Greeks or A I to join!

I ventured into Yahoo and clicked on the Greek Source link and got connected to Greek Chat. I signed up and now I am hooked!
