Partylite Candles...

I was concidering becoming a consultant, every one can use a little extra cash...

Are any of you a Partylite consultant or have you been?

What is your expierence, should I try it or not?

carnation 06-24-2003 09:23 PM

Contact AXOAlum! She's a consultant!

MoxieGrrl 06-24-2003 10:41 PM

I know a few people who hold Partylight parties. They all loved throwing the parties and made some nice $$$ from it because the items are a bit pricey.

Send me a catalog, Alison! I *love* that stuff! :)

texas*princess 06-24-2003 10:42 PM

I love buying stuff too!

what is partylite anyhow?

AXO Alum 06-24-2003 11:00 PM

PartyLite is an AMAZING company!! I have been a consultant for 6 months now, and have made enough money to pay off my debt ($3000) and then some. Plus, I have earned about $1200 in FREE product!

PartyLite makes the WORLD's BEST CANDLES! They are 100% food-grade paraffin wax meaning that there is NOTHING in it that will harm you (such as kerosene which many companies add to make their candles burn hotter -- hotter = faster burn -- faster burn = buy more candles more often! The wicks are 100% pure cotton braid - meaning that there is no metal in them (the buzz phrase now for many companies is "lead free wicks" which is required by LAW -- but they do put metal in there for the same reason as discussed above). And our candles are colored and scented throughout -- which means when you start burning a honeydew pillar, it will smell and be the same color from start to finish -- about 80 hours burn time.

AngelPhiSig -- I would love to send you the consultant info (even though we are long distance, I can still offer you the opportunity and set you up with a region) -- it is simple...with a $300 order (meaning orders that you collect from others - not for you to pay), you receive your starter kit absolutely FREE! It includes over $300 in product and enough literature (catalogs, etc) to host your first 6 shows. This is all PartyLite asks of you in return for the free stuff. Host 6 shows (meaning find 6 people who will let you go to their homes (or do it in your own home) and set up your stuff and say "ooh - ahh" and people will purchase items) -- its basically the same deal as other home-party type shows, except PartyLite is 110 times better -- for one thing, PL pays for ALL hostess benefits such as the free product they earn for hosting a show. Also, the hostess is not obligated to buy things before she can earn free stuff. And you as a consultant gets paid on these 6 shows -- so you aren't having to do these for nothing! This sounds like common sense, but believe me, there are plenty of programs out there that don't offer this!

It works like this -- the hostess earns 25% of the retail sales of her show towards PL merchandise (ie, a $400 show (the average show) = $100 in merchandise for a shopping spree) -- in return, the consultant makes 25% in PROFIT (ie, money in the bank) so a $400 show makes you $100 bucks cash! Its all done via direct deposit too, so you can turn in shows and sit back and get a paycheck every Wednesday! I am telling you that this is an amazing program - PM me and we can chat some more about it!

Moxie & Texas Princess - if you will PM me your addresses, I will mail you a catalog and a few free samples -- I did this for MTSUgirl and carnation and they were both pleased with the quality of the candles.

As for the pricey thing -- yes, our wax does cost more than those at say Wal-Mart....but ours liquefy completely which means EVERY bit of the candle is used -- no wax left in the bottom of your votive holder -- and our burn times are longer than others. A tealight will last you 5-6 hours!! Not 2 hours like the crappy metal kind. So in the long run, you get MORE for your money (and no icky black junk around your candle holders!)

phisigduchesscv 06-25-2003 01:41 AM

I love the Partylite candles, although if I buy another one right now my mother will kill me. I have a huge dresser drawer filled with candles of all types from Partylite since I bought a ton of stuff and also got a lot free from one of my parties. I definitely wont buy another candle from any company except partylite. Although one of my favorite scents, strawberry parfait, was only around for last summer and its no long available :( The grape candle smells exactly like welchs grape juice, the orange smells like a 50/50 bar. Get the feeling i like the fruit smells here. I love the clear cup tealights because you can float them in a bowl - think pref night here ladies.

As for becoming a consultant for Partylite one of my friends is a consultant and likes it. I used to be a Princess House consultant and would recommend you look into them also, I can put you in contact with one of my old Area Organizers. Once I'm done with Grad school I wouldn't mind getting back in to Princess House. Definitely if I have kids I would love to quit my job and stay home with the kids and do Princess House for my income. Partylite and Princess House are probably the only two home party shows I would consider getting into as a consultant

It was just a plain old scented votive, but the scent was awesome...not like some of those store bought ones that hardly have any scent, these ones actually scented my room, and it was so nice. They had a ton of cute stuff, but I couldn't afford it at the time.
Glad you liked the candle -- yes, the scents are amazing! And they really do last from start to finish!

As for price, PartyLite has many accessories under $20 -- there is a Glacier votive pair that when you burn a candle in them, it looks like a block of ice with fire inside - beautiful!! The pair is only $16.95. And the candles are $6.95 for a doz tealights (but remember, you are going to be able to burn each one for 5-6 hours and it will all be used up!) or $10.90 for a doz votives. The cool thing about a doz votives is that they come in boxes of 6, so you can pick TWO scents if you want for those.

Also, anytime a holder says it holds "votives" that also means it holds "tealights" (but not the other way around!) -- so you could certainly burn tealights in any of our votive holders.

Ariesrising - if you want to PM me I will be happy to send you a couple more samples :)

partylite is great

I just recently joined up with partylite and I am having an awesome time. Its definitely a great way to make some extra money. If you have any questions I would also be more than happy to talk to you about them. Feel free to email me at rayann113@hotmail.com.

ADPiShannan 07-01-2004 07:53 PM

wonder if you cna have a partylite sort of party online? I bet some of us would love to buy things. I had some sisters who sold stuff, but have since graduated and are in other jobs now. I used to buy things from those parties all the time.

Its like Avon. I used to have a girl in my sorority who did it and I got free samples and all sorts of things, now I dont have a Avon lady so I have to order it online now.

Jadey28 07-01-2004 08:02 PM

I want to make some extra cash!!! :) It sounds like PartyLite is way better than some other home-based companies! Can I get some information too? :)

angelic1 07-01-2004 08:10 PM

I went to one of those parties once and bought a couple of the candles and then my mom bought me one.. they are really nice.. I do love candles..

though however is it just me or do other people not like these types of "parties".. it seems like so many people I know are selling avon, mary kay, candles, garden stuff, etc. that I feel bad not wanting to spend my money like this..

when I want to buy stuff I will but I dont want to go to a party that my friend is having and feel like i have to buy it then.. I know you dont have to buy the stuff but I am def the type who feels bad not doing it, then I wish I hadnt..

Ditto that. I went to a Partylite party once and really disliked it. My sis-in-law was hosting so I felt obligated to attend. It was cheesy, and I couldn't wait to leave. I think it's a fine company if you're into that - I'm just not.

Now on the other hand, I have been to "toy" parties, and those are fun! :D

AXO Alum 07-06-2004 09:27 PM

Just got back...

Hey everyone -- WOW -- couldn't believe my PM box :D I just got home from convention in Orlando..... SO -- not only have I been gone for 6 days, and the first time I'm away from my son (not to mention hubby) -- but I come home only to find that our dog was in bad shape (he's been sick for some time now) -- so I immediately left again and we took him to the vet to say goodbye :( :( :(

SO -- I will be more than happy to get back with you guys tomorrow about PL -- I will be happy to send you the catalogs and a few free tealight samples and all that, and also a brochure about our consultant program and how to make $$ for you!

I just need a minute to catch my breath and have some down time with the family as the zoo remembers our beloved Oscar.

Thanks again for the PM's about PL -- I am excited to share it with you :D

Question for AXO Alum or anyone who can answer.

So, after a $300 order, you receive your Starter Kit for free. How can you hold a show without having your starter kit? Meaning, if I have nothing to show my customers, how can I get orders from them? Does that make sense? Does Partylite give you the items upfront and then you have 6 shows in return? I think that's what you're saying in your post above and I might just not be reading it correctly. How soon after you receive your kit must you host the 6 shows? I'm sorry if these questions sound silly. I just want a little more information before I decide if I am going to become a PartyLite consultant.

Thanks :)

Okay, first of all, being Sept. 1st, the new starter kit is with a $350 show -- they added SO many big items (like the crystal castle, and a lamp!) and that's why it went from $300 to $350.

As for collecting orders -- if you have a home show, then a consultant would come to your house, bring her stuff, and do the show and collect orders towards your starter show. PM me your info and I will be happy to get in touch with a consultant in your area if you want to do this.

The other option would be for me to mail you catalogs and you could collect outside orders. Then, your kit would be sent directly to your door. You would use the kit to do your 6 shows with -- and more, if you decided to stay with PL.

I took the month of August off since I have had sorority stuff for 26 of the 31 days, but I have missed it. I can't wait to get my weekly paychecks going again - funny how you miss that stuff :D

PM me if you need more info - I am happy to help!

Does PL have a website? I love candles and would love to buy some, didn't know if there was somewhere where i could go online and order them. :)

aephi alum 09-01-2004 10:34 AM

I went to a Partylite party a few months ago, and I must say I was very impressed. :)

Partylite does have a website, partylite.com but I believe they sell only via parties, not through the site. Something about customers seeing the product in use in someone's home before deciding to buy.

Which bites, because I'd love to get more candles, but I don't have enough friends who are into candles to host my own party, and I certainly don't have time to become a consultant!

I would be more than happy to have your order sent straight to you - it doesn't cost any more to do that. I do it for people all the time (like carnation) and other long distance customers that I have.

I like that people can't buy off the site because it keeps us in business :D I do wish that they had prices listed though. It would make it much easier.

aephi alum 09-01-2004 04:16 PM

Thanks AXO Alum - I might take you up on that, maybe closer to the holidays. I assume there will be holiday-related items being offered in a couple of months or so?

chideltjen 09-01-2004 05:47 PM

Oooo... PL candles... I cheated and bought some of the discontinued items on Ebay last summer. I got last years holiday set that I am excited to use this fall/winter. I would order now (as I am curious what's in this season's catelog) but I'm broke as a joke. :(

AXO Alum 09-15-2004 03:55 PM

My sale...

Okay, so my hubby now refers to our attic as "Blue Box heaven" -- I have so many extra products that I can't use! I have reduced the prices of everything I own that I am selling to at least half off - most things are more than that.

If you want to see what I have to offer, PM me with your email address - I can send you the link to my yahoo photo album. That has the details about the items and the cost. You will only have to pay me the shipping amount that I pay - I will let you know before it ships what that price will be. It would still be worth it for the discount.

^^^^^

As for the holiday items - yes, the new holiday catalog is out and selling like crazy. Lots of great new items, some old favorites, and 6 new fragrances that are really great. My favorite scent from last year, Homespun Memories, is also back! Let me know if you want a catalog - PM me with your email address! :D

chideltjen 09-15-2004 04:03 PM

I PM'd you! ;)

AOIIalum 09-15-2004 04:21 PM

I can't believe I totally missed this thread!

I'm also a PL consultant, and love it. I run my business the way I want, and this year it's been very low key by choice. I'm living vicariously through AXO Alum :) The great thing is that no one bugs me or pressures me for sales. My unit understands that for me, my family and my life come first, which is wonderful.

I've got a "Blue Box Heaven" as well! If you're looking for something AXO Alum doesn't have feel free to PM me about it.

And if anyone out there has a stash of Cherry Blossom, PLEASE let me know. I'm getting desperately close to running out, yikes!

Let me send an email to my region -- we have a pretty big region and a lot of people end up with retired wax.

UKDaisy 09-16-2004 08:43 PM

Hey AXO alum! I have a question for you....so I'll pm you. THanks!!

aephi alum 09-17-2004 09:54 AM

AXO Alum, I PM'd you.

cbhawley 01-02-2005 10:28 PM

I've been with PartyLtie for 11 years. It is an awesome company -- the product keeps getting better and better. There's no investment (I don't think there's another direct sales opportunity that you can do with nothing down). The hostess program is the best in the business.

The only way to do this, tho is to really take advantage of all the program has to offer. Schedule 6 - 8 shows right away, share the hotess benefits with your friends (don't ask them to do a favor for you by hodtin g a show - show them what you have to offer them.)

Go for it! And good luck!

Claire

I am newly becomming a PartyLite Consultant and I actually have my first show this Sunday. In response to earning your kit and not having product to show... well in my case I have seen what the kit entails. I have researched the products so I have stuff to talk about. But my Leader will be at my house with me for my first show. She is bringing the kit on Sunday. So you will have product to display, just not what's new or anything like that.
For anyone who is a consultant will understand this... I have my first show Sunday and I have 9 already lined up from now till the beginning of November!!! Good start if I do say so myself! :)

So I'm excited about this. I've been buying there stuff for over 3 years and I have enough product in my house to display along with the kit.

Good Luck to anyone who wants to start!
