I thought Family Man got a happy ending? Although it is kinda sad that the kids never existed.
I just remmembered virgin suicide. That movie was very depressing. |

Love Story
Terms of Endearment |
Menace II Society
American History X West Side Story Kids (Based on the stupidity of Telly) |
ARYA-old yeller
I said that in my mind as I clicked to reply. No doubt about it. "Imitation of Life" So sad! Ran to my Momma's bed, hugged her and cried...and cried. "The Way We Were" "Braveheart" "Terms of Endearment" Had to edit! SO EXCITED some people said the same ones thought of!!!!!:D |
Savannah Smiles
Older movie (1980ish or so) and the first to ever make me cry. |
FeeFee, How old were you when you saw Imitation???

I never got to see the end of Family Man! Could someone please PM me how it ends? I believe the last scene I saw was the one where he's at the convenience store late at night, buying salt, and he meets up with the angel who put him in his situation in the first place. Thanks in advance!

Stepmom, with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. I had tears streaming down my face for almost half of that movie! :(
|
Hilary and Jackie (It's kind of an obscure movie, but everyone needs to see it!!!! 1998; Rachel Griffiths and Angela Watson) The ending is so sad. Every guy I've ever shown that movie to has cried.
|
I usually don't dry at movies. Beaches was sad as were Steel Magnolias, Monster's Ball, Love Story, and Terms of Endearment. Oliver made me cry when I was 10.
When I was little, I saw a show on PBS. This little boy lost his dog and was searching for him. When he finally found his dog, he was with an elderly blind man. The little boy let the dog stay with the man. My mother asked me if I were ok. I told her that my throat hurt. I didn't realize that I had a lump in my throat literally. I don't remember the name of the movie, but it was sad. :( |
I cried so hard at the end of Forrest Gump and I didn't even like the movie... and I have to agree that the only reason I cried during Vanilla Sky is cuz the damn thing just wouldn't end!!!!
|
Ok..suprised no one said this one...
Ghost And 6th sense ( the end was kinda sad really) |
Every time I see Family Man I keep kleenex near, it always makes me cry.
|
Beaches
City of Angels What Dreams May Come |
I know Beaches and Stepmom were already mentioned, but no matter how many times I watch it, the eyes always well up.
I also get that way with Armageddon, when Grace yells "DADDY" because she knows he's not coming back. And if you get a chance, see Once Were Warriors, a Maori film directed by Lee Tamahori. The entire movie's sad, and it's one of the most powerful and moving films I've ever seen in my life. You can't watch it in just one sitting. |

"Pay It Forward" was the first movie I saw to make me REALLY cry... and I mean more than just some tears welling up, I had tears streaming down my face!

Glory and What dreams may come
|
Hard Ball :(
|
Brian's Song!!
(The original with James Caan and Billy Dee Williams was LOOOTTSS better than the TV movie.) |
I forgot!!!
Message in a Bottle! I liked the book better than the movie, but I have to admit, Catherine's letter [To all the ships at sea and all the ports of call...] still gives me chills. Nicholas Sparks is just too awesome.

My Life- That movie will have you crying from start to finish

I thought of two more- The World According to Garp Heaven help me with the name but- Michael Keaton played a father to be that knew he was dying so he made a video tape for his future child. I think it was "My Life". Edited here- OK so tis was posted. A HUGE thumbs up for one real tear jerker of a movie!!! sniff- sniff-sob! Imitation of Life- I was in Junior High when I saw it. That's one I will NEVER forget. Beaches-good choice! My daughter's first movie that made her cry was "Harry and the Hendersons". |

Life Is Beautiful
Another movie that is really really a tear-jerker is a movie called "Life is Beautiful".
I heard about it from my older sister who highly recommended it. It's a foreign language film (can't remember what language it was in though) but it has English captions... I think there might be all-english versions of it out there.. but I'm not sure. It's a really bitter-sweet movie. For those of you interested, I got the synopsis of the movie: An endearing Jewish-Italian waiter (Benigni) successfully courts a beautiful Italian woman in pre-WWII Italy. A few years later, when he and his idyllic family are taken to a Nazi concentration camp, he uses his magical gifts of humor and romance to see his loved ones through their uncertain days. Ultimately a beautiful, poignant story, unique in its tragi-comic treatment of the subject. Winner of the 1998 Academy Awards for Best Actor (Benigni, in a major Oscar night upset) and Best Foreign Film. It should be at most Blockbuster movie-rental places |
Oh gosh
Wall Street.
