RRa Kelly is supposed to perform. He was granted the leave to attend the show. I wonder how he will be received. :confused: Probably with open arms.

It will definitely be interesting to see. Although I enjoy his music... IMO I feel like he should have stayed away from some of the more sexual songs until all of his legal troubles have been cleared up.
They kinda give me the willies....

I really expected R. Kelly to go gospel after his troubles...I guess he thinks he's invincible.

Nas rapped on a verse or two on "Did You Ever Think?" on R. Kelly's album, R. That's the only thing way they act linked (to my knowledge).

Yeah...I saw her on the 106&Park yesterday. Free was interviewing her during backstage coverage of the awards show rehearsals. She looked really depressed...not like her usual seemingly hyped self... so I wonder how hype she is going to be for her performance??

Did I just see P. Diddy sitting next to Foxy Brown? Were my eyes playing tricks on me or did she really have on clothes?

There were alot of nice outfits at the show but I must admit my personal favorite would have to be Dabrat's spongebob jump suit. I'm sooooooo jealous :)

He has sung inspirational music before; my point is that I am surprised that he's still singing risque' music.

Lil kim's performance was a HOT MESS! 50 again did not perform with her, but I heard that is his management doing that and not him. Her saying "50 couldn't be here but that's alright":rolleyes: She could barely get the words out.

I think Monique is very insecure about her weight. I dunno maybe it's just me. And her son looked like he wanted to die being hugged by his mama in front of everyone.

Ashanti looked good! Her and Beyonce must of shared the same cocoa butter jar that night cause Ashanti's legs were oiled up.

The JMJ performance was fiyah! Jazzy Jeff is the greatest! DMC's voice was horrible though.

One of the best award shows all year IMO

DMCs voice is like that b/c he rapped in a different register than he normally would so it would sound good with Run's voice.
I loved his jacket.

Ok, my thoughts on the show. I was trying to keep them in my mind so that I would remember evrything to post here today, but of course I have forgotten most of them...but at any rate here goes what I remember.

1 - I thought Monique's first outfit looked good on her, everything else had to go.

2- I thought Beyonce set it off, but was it just me or was she about to really shake her booty off. :p

3 - Oh I definitely have to say this, was anyone else scared that James Browns eye brows were going to sweat off? What is up with all that make up on his face, and the painted on eye brows. Also I turned like the with 5 minutes to go to the real world, and when I turned back to the awards show, Michael Jackson was up there giving James the award. Was this planned to have Mike come out, or did he just show up and come out. Even though Mike had the shiny clothes on, I think that is most normal (clothes wise) that he has ever worn.

4 - I really felt bad for Lil Kim when she was out there doing a really bad performance and she kept saying 50 can't be here tonight. I thought she was going to start crying.:(

5 - When all the DeeJay's came out to do the tribute to JMJ, I thought they all set it off, and Philly's own Jazzy Jeff was hot to death...ya haeard!!

6- The R. Kelly being a pimp, and Ron Isley being Mr Biggs needs to be put to rest...let it go fellas, let it go.

7- When Mary and Puffy came out I thought they both looked good in their clothes, Puffy had on a really nice suit. It looks as if Mary has lost some weight, and also it looked as if she had just come back from an Island with that tan. :cool:

8 - Did anyone notice that Bow Wow has cut more of his hair off, I like that look for him.

9- All in all, I thought the show was ok, it got a little boring after a while, and it went on for far to long for me.

You my friend are off the HOOK with these comments! LOL.

The DJ tribute - Now that's what I'm talking about - real Hip-Hop!!! It was da fire up in there!! I was sitting on my bed getting my party on and screaming. :D

Question: When Missy was accepting her award for Best Female Hip-Hop, who was that lady on stage with her with the baby in the Gucci baby carrier and why was she there???? I was on the telephone at the time, so I couldn't hear everything.

Overall, the show was decent, but I didn't think the show was gonna last for more than two hours.

P.S. - Yes, Ashanti is starting to look like Beyonce, IMO :p
P.P.S. - Big up to Magic Johnson telling folks to make sure that they manage their money so that they can still be millionaires at 50 and 60 years of age. Kudos to you man!!!

BTW, Queen Latifah looked wonderful. I saw a ballgown by her designer, Bradley Bayou, at a resale shop for $59. Couldn't buy it, though, a few sizes too small.:(

R. Kelly's performance WAS NOT worth the wait. I must have heard "R Kelly is coming up next..." about 15 times. I was so pumped up by the time it came on, I thought he was gonna rip the stage off the hinges. All that was ripped off was that tired "play suit" he barely kept on (I was praying he wouldn't trip and fall).... If you couldn't guess by now I WAS NOT IMPRESSED.

I know this isn't popular, but I also liked R Kelly's performance. Those were the only two performances I saw.

50 is getting to stuck on himself for me. He's just the hottest thing out there right now. I think he's slow not to know his own song harmony when Stevie played it for him. I really didn't watch it that much but I am glad my girl Queen won for best actress she's been holding it down lately.

I think Queen Latifah won for her role in "Chicago" which was a great movie, and play (if you've never seen it through that medium), and she deserves to be recognized for it. However, I think that Sanaa Latham and Gabriella Union are two WONDERFUL actresses who keep getting overlooked.
