Who's tired of the rain?

It has rained almost everyday since I got home from school and that was May 24th. Our basmenet has flooded carious times. On top of that I have to mow the lawn every week! It has rained way too much, but Im glad its not hot and humid like it usually is in DC.

smiley21 06-21-2003 12:29 PM

it is getting annoying. its been raining here everyday in the last week.

Jadey28 06-21-2003 12:30 PM

I hate this rain! It's supposed to be nice this coming week, but that really doesn't help me since I have to work everyday :( Teh weather in Maryland has sucked the entire year! First the snow, now the nonstop rain! What's next?

SSS1365 06-21-2003 12:31 PM

I am in total agreement with you here. I am SO tired of the rain! It makes it near impossible to enjoy anything outdoors. Even running errands is a pain cuz you don't feel like going anywhere in the rain! I'm just glad it's not a drought though... I remember last year when most of Virginia was under water restrictions.

DeltaSigStan 06-21-2003 12:33 PM

It hasn't rained here so much as it's just been cloudy and not beach weather. I've been to the beach a couple times despite the clouds, got some good waves, but I haven't been able to just chill under the sun. They say there'll be sun next week, so hopefully they're right.

Lisa Fishman 06-21-2003 12:48 PM

It has rained here almost every day this past week. Today is the first dry sunny days in such a long time.

ZTAngel 06-21-2003 12:48 PM

It hasn't been sunny here in Florida in weeks. It's strange because usually this time of year here, it'll be sunny in the early afternoon and the thunderstorms won't start rolling in until about 4pm. For the past few weeks, it has been raining all through out the day. It was so bad the other day when I was driving to work that I couldn't see the car in front of me. I miss the sun!

aephi alum 06-21-2003 12:53 PM

This rain is getting realllllly old... :(

DITTO!

I mean what is really the deal here?? I want to go jogging, but I can't because it rains every freakin day. And it isn't like a sprinkle...no, it is a monsoon every day.

EagleChick19 06-21-2003 01:00 PM

I'm sick of the rain! :(

AZ-AlphaXi 06-21-2003 01:32 PM

Could you'all send some of the rain here, please?? We haven't seen any significant rain in several months (just a few drops about 10 days ago). We have two wildfires, one of which has wiped out the summer resort on the mountain north of Tucson.

so please, send us the rain!!!

SmartBlondeGPhB 06-21-2003 01:41 PM

This is too funny! Other cities complaining about too much rain.

Most people say Seattle has the most rain and we've been pretty dry lately.

Now you know what our Falls are like..........:D

Jadey28 06-21-2003 02:00 PM

It's been raining so much around here the past month that we are now in "flood warnings" everytime a thunderstorm is in the forecast. The ground just can't hold any more water! This is so not typical weather for this area. I'll do my "send the rain elsewhere" dance for you guys on the west coast :p

DolphinChicaDDD 06-21-2003 02:07 PM

I am really begining to think the sky is falling...

THE RAIN HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really can't remember the last time it was sunny. Even thinking back to March, April, and May...it was ok during the week, it would get nice occasionally, but then BAM the weekend it would pour!!!! I remember one nice weekend, cause all the other weeks we had to debate if the track meet was gonna get canceled.

In slighty depressing, today June 21, is the first day of summer. And the longest day of the year. AND IT IS POURING IN THE NYC METRO AREA!!!! GRRR:mad:

Well, at least my Harry Potter book arrieved: what a better day to sit on my couch, curled up in sweats(yes its that cold) and read...all 870 pages of it....:D

AchtungBaby80 06-21-2003 02:13 PM

Yes, I hear you--it flooded here, too (thank God we live on a hill!), and we've had to drain the pool a couple times. BUT the past day or two has been sunny, so I'm gonna go out and suntan before it decides to rain again! :)

docetboy 06-21-2003 02:38 PM

It's been nice and sunny in O-ma-ha!

:D:cool:

GMUBunny 06-21-2003 03:43 PM

Oh, shut up docet! I can't remember the last day we had when there weren't even sprinkles at some point. I'm doing my "sendin the rain elsewhere" dance, too

CatStarESP4 06-21-2003 07:10 PM

I moved to the Phoenix area from New York almost three months ago and it only rained briefly once. It is raining almost everywhere, but in Phoenix. I miss the rain! Please bring some here!!

I would have gladly sent the rain we had here in Texas last week somewhere else. I feel for all of you having to deal with the rain.

ZTAMich 06-21-2003 11:53 PM

I don't have AC...so I can deal with being it being chilly and rainy bc I can sleep at night.

Peaches-n-Cream 06-21-2003 11:56 PM

NYC has had 9.9 inches of rain so far this month. That's too much rain. :(

LeslieAGD 06-22-2003 09:08 AM

Luckily, the rain has slowed here. It's been sunny the last two or three days...wait, I better go knock on wood!

KSigkid 06-22-2003 10:01 AM

The weather has been awful here.

One day nice, one day rainy, one day humid, one day cool.

I just wish it would be summer.

CrimsonTide4 06-22-2003 10:03 AM

Well let me put in perspective, I moved to Charlotte last summer and all you heard was DROUGHT DROUGHT DROUGHT. Folks were forbidden to water lawns, asked not to wash their cars, etc.

Well since like April or May, Charlotte and North Carolina have had plenty of rain. So much rain that the DROUGHT is over. :D

Oh but no rain here the past 2 days, :D

krystle 06-22-2003 12:50 PM

The Cape weather...is HORRIBLE right now. Its like, noon right now and as dark as a cloudy gross fall afternoon.

Business is horrible...work is horrible. All because of the weather.

I think we've had maybe 4 or 5 sunny days since I came home..A MONTH AND A HALF AGO!

gah.

Peaches-n-Cream 06-22-2003 12:59 PM

It's not raining now.

Tomorrow is supposed to be 80 degrees and sunny.

queequek 06-22-2003 01:59 PM

Rain .. I miss rain.
For the last 5 weeks, Rome had only 2 drizzle for about 5 minutes each. So, rain storm or even snow storm would be appreciated :p It is the hottest spot in the world, literally, H-O-T and humid.

So send us some rain ....

OrigamiTulip 06-22-2003 06:34 PM

Even though it has rained for quite a while here, I'm still not tired of it. The rain is keeping the temperature down, and making things nice and green. That means that we might not have so many wildfires this summer, and it will help replenish the Florida Aquifer,so I say keep the rain coming.

KillarneyRose 06-22-2003 10:50 PM

I AM SO SICK OF THE RAIN!!!!!

The weird thing is that last summer we had a drought and now we've had a foot of rain in the past month.

My backyard is a swamp, all the landscaping I had done has been pretty much washed away, the dogs track mud into the house and everything I store in my basement is musty and damp :(

texas*princess 06-22-2003 10:51 PM

Wow.. a record 4 days without rain the Metroplex... I'm impressed.

lol@ texas*princess:D

But yes, my kitchen ceiling is very happy that it hasn't rained in 4 days:D

The apartment complex people came last week. He took a couple of measurements:confused: and then when on the roof and started banging away. Don't know what he did or if what he did is going to work since it hasn't rained.

texas*princess 06-23-2003 09:41 AM

I'm glad to hear your kitchen ceiling is doing well! Hopefully the trend will continue! :)

sigmagrrl 06-23-2003 11:14 AM

I really didn't mind the rain, but I did notice that I was not able to kick the blues I get when "Aunt Flo" is about to visit. I was staying depressed and I get scared of that.

The only other thing I hate is humidity. My curls fall and I look like a drowned poodle :p

Just be careful what you wish for: the rain was keeping the mosquitos at bay and now, they'll be out in force!!!

Jadey28 06-23-2003 11:59 AM

The sunshine is out again today, for the second day in a row!!!! Maybe mother nature has decided to listen to my dance and send the rain where it's needed!!!! Okay, that's enough posting, I'm going to lay out in the sun before it's time to go to work
