I'm sure this has been done before, but...

I'm too lazy to do a big search and I'm just bored/curious...

If applicable, what GLO is your "significant other" in? :)

I would have to respectfully disagree. She made her post with the proviso: "If applicable".

GPhiSweetiePie,
To answer your question, I am single right now, but in the past, the men that I dated who happened to be in a GLO were Dekes, Betas, Fijis and Kappa Sigs. I also met an AEPi from ASU about 9 years ago but I am single right now (and I was a GDI at the time, actually for all of them).

Naturally, I have also dated GDI's.

axotiger 06-20-2003 01:13 PM

Let's see I'm currently dating an APO[service] which threw my friends a bit since I used to just hang out with social fraternities... since the term 'dated' is kinda vague... i'll define it as 'i've been talking to' [i know that's vague too]... i've 'dated' a delta chi, lambda chi, pike, sigma pi, and sigma chi.. oh and pi kappa phi

aephi alum 06-20-2003 01:15 PM

I'm reading "if applicable" to mean (1) you have an S.O. and (2) s/he is in a GLO.

My husband is not greek... but he is a Mason, does that count? :)

Ginger 06-20-2003 01:24 PM

My boyfriend is a Pi Kappa Alpha, as you can probably tell from my sig :)

The only two other greek guys I've dated were another Pike (from the same chapter... eek!) and a Sigma Chi. The rest were independents.

GeekyPenguin 06-20-2003 01:50 PM

A guy I dated seriously in high school is now the president of his Phi Kappa Tau chapter. My late boyfriend was a SigEp. In between them, I dated two Independents - one was a GDI until graduation, and the other is just too busy with sports and his campus has a weak Greek system.

houstonchica 07-03-2003 05:03 PM

My husband was a Pike pledge in the early 80's but was never initiated. His grandfather was a Pike at UGA. My dad was a Pike too (he's deceased) at UNC-Chapel Hill in the 50's. I want to know if all Pike's are so cute and jocky!!! LOL :D :D :D

AXWhoah 07-03-2003 05:09 PM

My boyfriend is a Phi Kappa Psi. And he is coming to visit me in 5 days! Whoo hoo!

FAB*SpiceySpice 07-03-2003 05:35 PM

I am currently single but all the guys I have dated since I've been in college have strangely enough been greek. There's been a FIJI, a Lambda Chi, and a Delta Tau Delta. There have been other guys that I've just been "talking to" (who knows how to define all this crap anymore :) ) and they too have all been in greek houses. Mainly FIJI, Sigma Nu, Delta Sig, Phi Kap, and AKL. And they have all been fun wonderful guys! :)

SigkapAlumWSU 07-03-2003 07:34 PM

The guys I'm currently seeing is a Kappa Sig.

I think the only other Greek that I've dated was a Beta, but almost all my close male friends are greek.

jharb 07-03-2003 10:33 PM

The guy I'm currently "dating" (it's not officially dating...I'm not really sure what we are officially anymore) is a Kappa Sigma.

Other greek guys I've dated were in Sigma Chi, Lambda Chi (two different Lambda Chi chapters though!), and other Kappa Sigmas. One was actually the president (high alpha) of the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter when we were together! :D

Jadey28 07-03-2003 11:02 PM

My boyfriend of three years is a Zeta Beta Tau. He's the only Greek I have dated. And I think that's why we are still together...because we understand one another just that much more.

i think that's so cute! it must be nice to understand each other!! my bf is GDI and he just rolls his eyes whenever i say the words "my sorority"! lol ;)

OUlioness01 07-04-2003 12:05 AM

if dated is what you would call it...more like i've "talked" to or been on dates with a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi, Theta Chi, Phi Kappa Theta and Phi Delta Theta.

AchtungBaby80 07-04-2003 01:11 AM

I always say I've never actually (meaning officially) dated a fraternity man, but I just realized that that's not true--a guy I used to date was a Pi Kappa Alpha, but at a different school!

D_Chi_Zinni 07-05-2003 04:19 PM

since everyone that posted so far has been a female (I Think) i feel obligated to post :)

My GF is an Alpha Xi Delta

slamit93 07-09-2003 03:55 PM

lol... I'm dating my third consecutive Pi Beta Phi

tunatartare 07-13-2003 11:21 PM

I've gone out on dates with or dated a Zeta Psi, an AEPi, and a Delt before. I've hooked up with a TKE, an APD, an Alpha Sig, and an AEPi (different chapter though).

ZTAngel 07-13-2003 11:26 PM

My boyfriend is a Kappa Sig.

I have dated guys who were in SAE, SigEp, Sigma Chi, and LXA.

JennRN 07-13-2003 11:30 PM

I've dated a SigEp, a KA, and a Delt...but there's something about Sigma Nu's because my ex was one, and so is my fiance!!

uwwsweetie 07-13-2003 11:40 PM

Single

I am currently single and have never dated a Fraternity Man but i am VERY interested in a Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonian at my old school.... :p

Not a Mezzo 07-13-2003 11:45 PM

Hehehe...I'm with uwwsweetie on that Phi Mu Alpha thing. There's something about a man who can serenade you with all his brothers....and since it's a music fraternity, you know it'll be really sweet AND they won't suck. :p My BF of three years is a Sinfonian.

trisigmaAtl 07-25-2003 11:53 AM

my boyfriend is a Chi Phi, everyone I've dated at college has been a Chi Phi (that's been 1 other person) and the two aren't close friends.

Yes we are! But seriously, I've dated two AGD's and one AEPhi from my school.

texas*princess 07-25-2003 12:18 PM

My boyfriend of almost 3 yrs is a Lambda Chi Alpha!!

amyleigh 07-25-2003 12:28 PM

I dated a Lambda Chi Alpha from a different school for a bit over a year. I married a man from a different school who was in a Christian fraternity, Alpha Gamma Omega.

AOX81 07-25-2003 12:34 PM

My husband is a brother of Lambda Chi Alpha.

Before my husband I seriously dated a brother of Sigma Chi and a brother of Delta Tau Delta. I also went out on a couple dates with a member of Theta Chi.

AOII_LB93 07-25-2003 12:41 PM

Well the BF is a Sigma Nu...oddly enough my chapter and his(we didn't go to the same university, but I digress) hung out in 1995 when he was a pledge, but we never met back then...didn't meet until 1999, which is a good thing as I was too involved with an ex who was controlling my life at the time, and he was too busy being 18 and dumb. I tried not to date many guys from my school when I was a collegiate...didn't want to have to see them all the time.

:p

As for exes that I would actually consider BFs: Phi Kappa Sigma, Theta Chi, and Sigma Pi. (There are others that just went into the "a few dates" category, but do not qualify as S.Os.)

I did date some non-greeks, but they were all very anti-sorority, so they had to go..I didn't know they were anti at the beginning. The nice thing about the man being in a fraternity is that he understands the loyalty that I have to my sisters and my chapter and why I am still involved advising. Yay him!

APhiAngel 07-25-2003 12:45 PM

My boyfriend of almost 2 years is a Delta Chi!

AXPGoBot 07-25-2003 01:57 PM

Well, I guess I'll be the second guy to post here...

My ex girlfriend was a Phi Sigma Sigma, she actually pledged during the time we were together (and so did I the year before).

My current girlfriend is a Theta Phi Alpha. It's cool being with someone who is also greek, because they "just get it" with a lot of things were as non-greeks may not be as understanding. Plus, I don't feel bad about going out w/ my Brothers and doing stuff, because she does the same thing! It makes for a very healthy relationship I think.

Rio_Kohitsuji 07-28-2003 09:09 PM

Well, my man of 2 years is a TKE Mmmm...Mmmmm...Gooooood :)

Dolphingirl14 08-22-2003 03:50 PM

It just so happens that the two of the guys I dated in College were in Sigma Phi Epsilon. No other Fraternity guys yet! LOL I'm just kidding ;)

HotDamnImAPhiMu 08-22-2003 04:56 PM

I dated two Delta Chis, an AKL, and a Kappa Sig.

I really enjoyed seeing fraternity brothers because they "got" that part of my life in a way I didn't feel GDI men did.

That said, the downside to dating a fraternity man is that I don't like competing to be the first love of a guy's life. ;-)

PrincessHeather 08-23-2003 01:55 AM

This is a cute thread. Its neat to see who all has dated who from different GLO's (if applicable of course ;) )

And to add mine:

My boyfriend is a Phi Delta Theta

m_nms 08-29-2003 12:36 PM

My man is a Lambda Chi Alpha... it will be three years in January!

My DH is a Lambda Chi Alpha (been married 10 years...together for 15-including all 4 years of college).

ATOtnBetaTau 10-02-2003 05:10 PM

Well, I'll be the third(?) guy to post here.

My girlfriend is a Kappa Delta, and I plan on proposing to her very, very soon.

Jason
