Good news for Southern girls

According to a survey Southern women were voted sexiest by a good margin over the other regions. What is everyones' opinions on this?

It's the accent.

Southern men have told me that New Yorkers are really beautiful. ;)

See, I never did like those polls because us Hawaii girls never fit into any of those categories.

I would have to agree (Monica, Meghan, and all the others - i'm looking at you ;))

swissmiss04 06-18-2003 09:53 PM

I tend to agree (as I bat my eyelashes and sip my mint julep, lol). It's not that girls from other regions are "ugly" it's just that it's a Southern tradition to be very made up and proper. We still for the most part follow rules like "no velvet after valentines day" and "no white shoes between labor day and easter". It's sort of weird to find a lot of girls/women who don't wear makeup. And I think the accent helps.
However, OTW, I think Hawaiian girls are soooooo beautiful. I wish I had that kind of complexion and hair. Not to mention the "hula girl" body.

AchtungBaby80 06-18-2003 10:27 PM

Swissmiss has it right--we're all just raised like that! :D

Munchkin03 06-18-2003 10:29 PM

I also think it has a lot to do with the fact that Southern women dress up a lot more. Even when I fly home for the holidays, I can see as soon as I get into a Southern airport by the way that the women are dressed up with full makeup! I really don't get to see that here that often.

damasa 06-18-2003 10:30 PM

You southern gals aren't all that and a bag of Jalapeno Cheddar Doritos.

I win.

SOO true...my mom wore a hat on her flight up to see me in PA. The guy at the car rental counter said it was a dead give away.

Well bless your heart! We wouldn't eat those things anyway because it would just break our diet and give us terrible breath!

polarpi 06-18-2003 11:33 PM

I may be from California, but I'm nothing like the typical California girls and I'm D**N proud of it! Going to college in Indiana brought out the "farmer's daughter" in me! ;)

AlphaGamDiva 06-19-2003 12:34 AM

lol...this is funny.....but yet, so TRUE!! :D

aaah....how many times when i lived in alabama did i hear the young Southern Gentlemen say as i and a group of my friends walked by, "man, i wish i had a swing like that on my back porch!" ;)

OWOW!

we got the walk, the talk, and that whole "Southern Belle" thing workin for us.....little do most men know, though, that it's more like, "Hell's Belles" ;)

You can never forget an Alaskan woman...even though I am only one for 11 more days.

I think some of the most independent women in the world live here. To move up here where you may not have running water or electricity, and far from your family takes moxie and gumption. I shoveled my car out of the snow in a hot pink bridesmaid dress, I've chopped wood, hauled water, cleaned fish, survived moose and bear encounters, I can shoot, I can survive in the wilderness and I can still serve the right wine, dance divinely, use all the correct silverware, plan a hail and farewell dinner for your Colonel and make calligraphic place cards on Crane's Stationery (in less than 24 hours), rock the Lilly Pulitzer in a Native village, and impress your mother when you take me home because I would never wear white shoes after Labor Day. We're as mysterious and beautiful as the Northern Lights, as cool as a glacier, and as warm and inviting as 22 hour sunlights, we take your breath away just like the Alaska Range, and as reliable as the weekly mail service to the Aleutians (weather permitting).

Alaska women...jills of all trades masters of none. We're the best of all regions combined into one.

Wow
I know that I dress up a lot but it's because I work and go out
That requires nice clothes
And plus, I got to shop all of the time

MoxieGrrl 06-19-2003 09:45 AM

OTW: Hawaiian girls are not included because they would blow the rest of us away. :)

That's okay, "US" Southern girls don't really dig ya'll Midwestern cats anyway. So BLAH!! :)

I guess Southern women will put themselves together a lot better (?) than other women, even for casual things...I know that I experience a huge culture shock in that realm--everyone here compliments me on how nicely I dress--even just for class. I also do makeup, which a lot of women up here (RI) won't do unless it's for something special.

Personally, I love it! :D

James 06-21-2003 11:29 AM

Damn girl, with a description like that . . .

If you throw in some literacy, intellectualism, and promise never to beat me wrestling, I'll marry you lol. ;)
