I saw on the Pirates of the Caribbean thread someone ask what RPG meant. I didn't know either. There is a lot of internet lexicon I don't know. I didn't know POS meant "parents over shoulder"...For example, could someone PLEASE tell me what CTFU means?!?!?:confused: :confused:
Is there a good IM dictionary/translation service online?!?!LOL |
RPG = Role Playing Game
CTFU = Cracking the F*ck up |

Must go...HWS AIUI - I guess its just a SMOP with men - emphasis on the S in that last one ;) Better than SAH I guess, although I won't judge that in case anyone has.... "not that there's anything wrong with that!" I must say that my fav acronym by far is SUCDIC although the spelling has nothing to do with previous paragraph of thought!! I know you are CTFU over that one :D NADM with AXO Alum :cool: |
U H U, in the nerd me world WTFOYA!
\ Aint I the impressed one;) Damn, Thanks for going back to 2000 to pull that one up!:D Maybe bump it up the Diocotomy of Short functioniary of wording SHORT SH*T TO USE AS UFISMS!:cool: crimson Tide, can you pull that up? Bump, Bump! |
I just want to say that those acronyms for IM really really bother me for some reason - I don't know why, but when I see "ctfu" or whatever, it gets on my nerves.
Nothing against those people who use those abbreviations, but if anyone ever catches me using those, I'd like them to slap me. |

I'll be back later after I get home from work :eek: to CHALLENGE you:D Oh and Tom, I preach SEARCHING because I also USE the SEARCH feature. IDNUAWETTMSIHPT. . . .HA!! |
As long as ADCOMSUBORDCOMPHIBSPAC (ADministrative COMmand, SUBORDinate COMmand, AmPHIBiouS Forces, PACific Fleet) doesn't get into everyday use, I'll be happy. :) (Leave it to the U.S. Navy to come up with compounded acronyms... reportedly, this is probably the longest acronym in the world.)

Some of the entries on this post remind me of senior yearbook write ups...random letters that when you ask the writer about their meaning they can't remember. :rolleyes:

Thanks Gina, you are cool peeps as well who stands very little chance of ever encountering my RBK. :p |
Don't forget other well-used acronyms that originated in the military:
YGBSM - You Gotta Be Sh*ttin' Me! (The unofficial motto of the 'Wild Weasel' surface-to-air-missile killers. Considered to be a suicide mission when it was first introduced during the Vietnam War, when they asked for volunteers after getting an explanation of what needed to be done, one guy in the back of the room stood and said the immortal words above.) FUBAR - F*cked Up Beyond All Recognition SNAFU - Situation Normal All F*cked Up IHTFP - I Hate This F*cking Place (Originally by MIT, but adopted as the unofficial motto of the Air Force Academy.) |
lol at FUBAR - one of my favorites
