Anti fraternity website
 

I did do a search on this as it came up before (exactly same site I believe) but I couldn't find that thread.

Anyway, a while ago someone posted about a website that was 'anti-fraternities'... to put it mildly. Essentially the website said all those in social fraternities were rapists. Poems like 'die fratboy, die' as I remember. :rolleyes: Delightful.
Anyway, that thread ended soon with the statement that the website was now closed, and that it had all happened quickly (website was only up a short while). I happened across the same website today, so I can only imagine the site in question back then was never deleted but just went offline temporarily as as a large amount of people visited it with the siteowner having been only allocated a small amount of bandwidth each month (a little being used each time it's accessed). That is a really stupid website. The guy sounds like a complete moron who was probably cut from rush or blackballed.

I would agree. BUT, look at how many people have looked at this thread and probably viewed the site. He's getting what he wants......

Exactly. The only reason I can imagine someone getting so riled up about greeks is if he or she wanted to be one but wasn't able to.

I think it's important to stay aware that there are crazy, bitter people like this out there.
We can't attempt to combate the negative images if we don't know what myths and assumptions are out there.

Hmmmm.....I kind of like the article "A Satirical Look at a Very Real Problem" on the Feminism link.

The rest of the stuff sounds like an overzealous 1st year women's studies major.

What I find interesting is that in her opening rant she complains that "eveil frat boys" aren't prosecuted like the rest of the society. That they are treated special because they are a recognized school organization. Yet in her articles about hazing and the people that do it, all the suspects are being prosecuted in court and facing felony hazing charges. Maybe she should look a little more carefully at her own research before she starts foaming at the mouth.

Yep, interesting on one of the links too how she displays graphics and letters of a whole bunch of *actual* GLOs.

Most of her graphics appeared obviously doctored in photoshop to make her point.

I saw those websites and I was pissed!! I also got brain rash just looking at that piece of slanderous crap. Those doctored photos were really uncalled for. She should have done more thorough research before she created a website about something she really doesn't know a thing about. The fraternities in those photos should have sued for slander and libel!

I couldn't see the pics cause it said something like "the website owner is too much of an a-hole to pay for it". What were they?

Heh..ya know..I kinda liked the doctored ad's for TKE and the Alpha Sigs. They actually look like something I would do...lol

Ugh . . . referencing a post in the Chit Chat forum today, it's stuff like this that gives so many feminists a bad name. I'm all for eliminating rape at frat parties, but anybody with half a brain can see that (A) the vast majority of fraternity men don't rape anybody and (B) the vast majority of rapes don't have anything to do with fraternity men. Not to mention the fact that she treats any women who associate with fraternity men like they're idiots. Excuse me, but if you're trying to say that I shouldn't hang out with guys in fraternities, that's far more controlling than anything any fraternity man I know has ever done.

I'm casting my vote for another overzealous first-year women's studies major, too. :)

:D I noticed that too! You'd think that if fraternity houses were as racist as she claims, she'd be able to find a picture of a fraternity with only white members to use for that.

I have to admit that I thought it was legitimately funny that the house she christened the KKK house on the third (I think?) page had the guy in the military suit out in the front yard. What was he doing there? You have to admit it does look a little shady . . . :p
