Where are you expanding this fall?
This Fall, Delta Sigma Phi will expand to three universities. They include our former Alpha Alpha chapter at the University of Illinois (Urbana Champlain), our former Delta Gamma chapter at the University of Kansas, and a local fraternity which will affiliate at Shorter College in Rome, GA.
Urbana Champlain should be interesting because they have a HUGE Greek System over there, and I am curious as to when and why they left. Where are you expanding? |

Imsohappythatiama, do you know if Kappa is possibly expanding anywhere else this year, just out of curiosity? |
Phi Sigma Kappa has a few re/colonizations in progress
Re-Colonizations: Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Former Theta Pentaton) East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (Foremer Beta Pentaton) University of Michigan (Former Delta Deuteron) University of South Carolina (Former Gamma Triton) University of California, Santa Barbara (Former Kappa Pentaton) Southern Illinois (Former Kappa Tetarton) Colonizations: Colorado State University Hope College(Chartering Scheduled for 9/20/03) and Southern Illinois was recently re-chartered as the Kappa Tetarton Chapter |
I would love to know where we're expanding, but last I heard, we were just checking out some options through NPC, with no definite plans.
|
Sigma Nu
From what I can tell the expansion team is focusing on the colonies that we currently have.
I don't know that this page has been updated in awhile but here's the link to our current expansion activities: http://www.sigmanu.com/prospectiveme...rrentcolonies/ |
Kappa Alpha Theta will be colonizing at Santa Clara in California
this fall :) |
phi mu is headed to carnation's college in the fall. i heard that we were also expanding somewhere in north carolina, but i have had no confirmation on that one.
|
I heard that Sigma Nu was going to recharter their UNC chapter in another year or two.
|
Phi Mu just closed their UNC chapter, I think they are trying to colonize on NCSU when we open back up for expansion in two years. NCSU wants to bring on two additional sororities (Delta Gamma came on this year, Tri Delt and KD were the other two voted on)
I think Alpha Phi will recolonize at NCSU once my group graduates and it opens up for expansion. They made us leave them a major endowment for a future chapter. Duke should hopefully get their Alpha Phi charter this year. |

IheartAPhi...do you go to nc state? im a DG there, and i didn't know many other state people on this board. i didn't know that we are looking to have that many more sororities on campus in the near future. that's kind of cool. :)
|
I am a Senior at State. I have a lot of friends in DG.
Well, that was the original plan two years ago before DG was invited on. It may take several years to they feel they can open back up, but for NCSU's size we should have 12-13 chapters on campus (that will never happen) However, I feel that the University will run everyone off campus in the next 10 years. |

ktsnake,
have you heard anything about William-Jewell? SN was booted twice in 2 years. Have a beautiful house there and was the first one built in the Fraternity circle! SN Brothers showed me through it one summer after it just opened. Vey nice of them!:) Hated to see them go as there are only 4 Fraternitys at the time, now 3.:( |
Pi Phi’s recently installed chapter, California Nu at Loyola Marymont University.

USF Welcomes ZTA!
I'm very excited to welcome Zeta Tau Alpha to the University of South Florida this fall! It's so great to see our Panhellenic grow from 7 to 8 sororities! And now we have 1/2 of the Farmville Four,
KD and ZTA :) |
beta: coming to a campus near you
Here are the upcoming planned expansions for the Beta Theta Pi fraternity over the next two school years. There are 7 in all (chapter designation in parentheses):
-Indiana (Pi) -Virginia Tech (Alpha Phi) -Colorado State (Epsilon Kappa) -Arizona State (Delta Tau) -Denison (Alpha Eta) -Central Michigan (Epsilon Gamma) -Houston (Delta Upsilon) |

I heard that ZTA might be expanding to Christopher Newport Univ. in Newport News, VA.... but that was before the voting was done. Haven't heard anything since... where's ZTABullwinkle when you need her??
|
So Beta Theta Pi and Phi Sigma Kappa are both colonizing at Colorado State? How'd they pull that off?
The greek system at CSU is NOT one where I would recommend anyone trying to expand to at this time (although Beta would be a recolonization)....very bad campus climate for greeks - at least one or two orgs each year have been closed for the past few years. However, President Yates is finally leaving, so the climate may be finally turning around... Best of luck - hopefully you won't need luck to be successful, but do be careful at that campus. |
From what I've read in our magazine and heard from our consultant and brothers who have gone to leadership schools and what not our Colorado State Colony is doing well. Hopefully they won't be a 5 year chapter. We've had a few of those.
*now back to your regularly scheduled thread* |
Phi Gamma Delta:
Hanover College University of Oregon We also have colonies at: Michigan Ohio State Virginia Toleda FIU |

Re: Sigma Pi
It would be great to have another fraternity at NAU, but it may be interesting to get voted on by IFC...since there have been low numbers in terms of recruitment lately...
