American Pie #3: American Wedding
They're baaaaaaaaack on August 1, 2003  (my 28th birthday)
Comedy and Romance With East Great Falls High now just a memory, the kids have grown into young adults ready to wreak havoc with a new rite of passage - Jim (Biggs) and Michelle (Hannigan) are getting married - in a hurry. Jim's grandmother is sick and wants to see Jim walk down the aisle, so they're going for it in two frantic weeks. Stifler (Scott) plans to be there (bridesmaids!), and more importantly to throw the ultimate bachelor party (strippers!). Finch (Thomas) is all for the hedonistic rituals, but not for letting Stifler steal the maid of honor, who happens to be Michelle's sexy younger sister, Cadence (Jones). While everybody else sweats and frets, Jim's Dad (Levy) is cool as ever, dispensing advice that no one wants to hear and getting ready for one of the best days of his life. MPAA Rating: Not Rated. Release Date: August 1st, 2003. http://us.ent4.yimg.com/movies.yahoo...ng_poster2.jpg Click 2 C Trailer |
Yea!
I'm not the only one excited for American Wedding! :) |
Can't wait!
I saw the trailer for this when I watched Old School the other day!! It looked great!!
Ok yeah I know, it's not high art (!) but I don't watch some films to be educated, I watch them to be entertained or delighted. :) |
I'm sorry, but this looks like they strung the series out one movie too far.
I'm not real big on the idea of it...but if it turns out funny, I'll admit I was wrong. |

I've head that they had to put the "American Pie 3" in the title because otherwise audiences wouldn't realize it was part of the franchise.
Personally, I thought #2 was terrible. The first one was funny because it was something new. #2 was same old, same old. |
Grrrrrr to the band camp and flute joke!
Other than that the rest of the stuff is funny. |
I can't wait for it to come out! I still laugh my azz off watching the first 2
|
I'm excited! I love these movies - they might not be great works of art, but they'll always make me smile, and they have great soundtracks!
|
I liked the first one -- like juniorgrrl said, because it was funny and it did something new. The second one just tried to re-make the first movie with slight alterations, and in my opinion it just wasn't as funny . . . it lacked the element of surprise that the first movie had. And of course, back in the day when the first movie came out, a lot of the stuff that they were showing (sexual innuendoes and grossout humor) was new and even a little bit edgy -- now it's par for the course.
And of course, half of the best part of the second movie was that they managed to bring back all of the original cast. :p They could only bring back about half of them for the third movie, and it even seems like they pretty much wrote the script around who they could bring back and who they couldn't, which means that I don't have very high hopes for it. Maybe they'll surprise me, though. |

I'm glad Mena Suvari and Shannon Elizabeth aren't going to be in the third one. |
Uh, it was funny in 1998. The schtick is over...and no longer that funny.
|
HAHA, Tim Allen is Stifler's dad!
Awww, no Oz? I've always liked him. :( |
I liked it. I saw the trialer when it first came out a few months ago and it really cracked me up. My new rule of thumb is that anything with Eugene Levy is funny. This is up there with Pirates of the Caribbean as a summer movie I'm really excited for.
|
I just saw it a few hours ago. It was okay... not the greatest movie ever, but it has some hilarious moments.
|
I saw the movie last night and I loved it. Very funny. Stiffler is out of this world and so is the rest of the cast.
|
Seeing it sometime this week! I heart Stifler. :)
PS: I swear, Stifler's mom came into my restaurant last night. It was HILARIOUS! This woman looked so much like Jennifer Coolidge it was scary. All of the guys kept telling the server, "Dude! Stifler's mom is at your table! It looks SO much like her!" |
what happened to the other dude? oz and his girl?
|
Saw it Friday night. I give it 4/10. I got really tired of hearing the f-word. And I'm NOT a prude that's easily offended by that word. At least the 10million times they said it during the Southpark movie was to prove a point about censorship.
I was glad that the Amsale dress that Michelle got wasn't the one I'm considering - I'd hate for it to get (even more) popular because of the movie. |

i havent seen it...but they filmed this one part where teyre pushing some lady in a wheelchair or something at my university, so i got to go watch some of it being filmed which was kinda cool...
|
I just saw it on Friday, the day before my friends and I were all going to be in a wedding (we thought it was appropriate!) Anyway, I have to say this is my favorite of the three. The entire theatre was laughing so hard, we all missed lines here and there. I completely reccomend it!

Oz wasn't in it - and yes, Allison Hannigan was the only original girl to come back.
I thought it was pretty damn funny - maybe funnier than the second. Stifler was funny as all hell though. Edited to add: Yes, I admit I was wrong - if you'll notice in my first post on this movie, I thought the idea was a bad one. I'll admit I was wrong - the movie was very funny. Collin |
I agree, the movie was definitely very funny. I think I mostly just got annoyed with Stifler being such a jackass all the time. I mean I know that's his character, and it's funny, but I dunno... I thought he was a tad over the top. I just kept saying to my fiance, "I'm SO glad you don't have a friend like that!"
|
This is certainly not Oscar material, but you get your money's worth of laughs in the first 15 minutes alone! My fiance & I saw it on Friday night, and while there were some (very) slow moments, all in all it was a fun movie.
We missed Oz & the other girls, too - but not as much as you'd think. |
i'm gonna have to agree with sss1365 that stiffler was incredibly annoying, i just wanted to get up and smack him. but other than that, the movie was hillarious. i wasnt expecting it to be as good as it was. :) its the first movie ive been to in a long time where people actually clapped at the end of it.

American Wedding was Awesome
The movie is a riot. Even the "serious" parts are cool, they dont drag down the movie like you'll see in a lot of films.

I saw it last nite. I was really excited to see it but I was soooo disappointed that the whole original cast wasn't in it. When I saw them all on the VH1 special, I figured they were. Stifler was HILARIOUS! But I still like the first one the best.
BTW... the two twins with long (fake) blonde hair in the beginning of the movie who just walk by in the bar I think... I went to school with them. They were always the leads in plays when we were in Glee Club so it was kinda cool to see them in there. They were also on Blind Date once, and they were pretty much bimbos. |
I saw it earlier in the week and I gotta say I liked it too! I thought it was better and funnier than American Pie 2 and less preachier than the first. It seemed to have discarded the view that there needs to be a moral message so much.
Stifler was of course excellently characterised and a funny guy (with hidden talents!) then there was Jim! I think most of my fave characters were there (Michelle, Jim, his dad, Finch, Stifler). I laughed a lot while watching it, in second sequels the jokes have sometimes gone stale but they did a pretty good job with this movie :) Jim's Dad: Son, step away from the animal... :D |
I saw it a few weeks ago with 4 firends...it was better the nthe 2nd one...we all enjoyed it and had a good laugh...missed Oz though
