Finding Nemo

Who will admit to seeing it? I saw it yesterday and it was GREAT! Funny, touching, and not pandering or too "kiddie" at all.

I have to say that after Dory (the fish that Ellen Degeneres does the voice for) the seagulls were my favorite characters. :D

KillarneyRose 05-31-2003 09:40 PM

We tried to see it today, but all the shows were sold out so we're going to wait a few weeks until the hoopla dies down.

I already know that my favorite character will be the turtle, of course! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...ere/turtle.gif

Sistermadly 05-31-2003 09:41 PM

Buy tickets online - we did:

KillarneyRose 05-31-2003 10:20 PM

Thanks, that's a great idea! (I'm still getting used to newfangled things like that, I guess :) )

cash78mere 05-31-2003 10:30 PM

i can't wait to see it--it looks great!

bethany1982 05-31-2003 11:03 PM

I will admit that I want to see it. I hope tomorrow night.

ToBeSororityGrl 06-01-2003 01:01 AM

Dragged the guy to the late late show even though he was dying to see something non-animated, and it was sooooooo great!!

He laughed a lot more than he would have thought and it was just so enchanting, but kinda scary. Sharks, and the possibility of death always worries me!

Aw can't wait to buy it! Those Pixar ppl are great!

Allie 06-01-2003 01:18 AM

We just got back!

It was fabulous! I was a little disappointed in the begining of the movie (I'm used to happy and cheery things) But all in all good and I did tear a little, but thats just how I am :)

Borrow a kid if none of your friends want to go *lol* I was lucky to have 3 sisters with me :)

DigitalAngel126 06-01-2003 01:28 AM

I recommend watching FINDING NEMO while eating Pepperidge Farm Goldfish! It's like you're some giant genocidal fish eating man! Don't miss out!

I know, I know, I'm the http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili.../diablotin.gif, but what can I say??

If you go to www.fark.com and find the NEMO review, you'll find this quote within the article..I'm not clever enough to come up with it on my own. :)

texas*princess 06-01-2003 11:43 AM

hahaha Digital!

I definately want to see 'Finding Nemo'!!!!

.. I'll see if I can sneak in some Pepperidge Farm Goldfish too :p

SilverTurtle 06-01-2003 12:23 PM

I saw it last night & loved it. To no surprise, the sea turtles were my favorite characters & I'd be all about a sequel starring them. :D

It did have it's dark, scary moments. And some great references to other 'adult' movies. Definately recommend it!!

Rio_Kohitsuji 06-01-2003 01:24 PM

I dragged TKE209 to this last night!! Of course, we had to go to the late-late show. We had tried to go to the matinee and the 7:00 show but there were hordes of minivans and the place was surrounded with soccer mom's and their kids!

My fav characters were Crush's lil turtle son, Dory, and Darla (LOL)

I definetly recommend this movie!

bucutie02 06-01-2003 01:41 PM

saw it yesterday- it was cute!

Tom Earp 06-01-2003 03:34 PM

What the F is a nemo????

I guess I am to Mature to figure this out???????

Show me action like reruns of Charlies Angles and _____ ?

DolphinChicaDDD 06-01-2003 09:14 PM

I saw Finding Nemo and LOVED IT!!!!

It was the greatest movie that I've seen in a long time.
The only problem is, I was laughing at all these parts, and no one in the theater was- and I felt like SUCH a DORK, because it was during these parts where they were talking about marine biology stuff (like inverts and plankton) and since I've had 3 years of marine bio classes, I thought it was the funniest thing ever.
:D

yup....Finding Nemo.....great for marine bio dorks.

Nemo is a cute lil clownfish, who gets taken from his home and dad in the ocean and gets put into a dentist's fish tank (which i thought was kinda funny too, since my dentist and orthodonsists both had GIANT salt water tanks in their offices).

dixie wrecked 06-02-2003 11:26 AM

I went to see Finding Nemo this weekend and it was the most realistic animated movie i've seen in a while. And I just loved the scene when Dory is trying to talk to the blue whale in his native tongue..LMAO

Have any of you guys heard about the commercials with the hidden codes?? Some people were talking about it a few days ago...apparently you can win stuff. Im about to check it out but if anyone is interested.

Schmeer 06-02-2003 12:03 PM

I saw it saturday and loved it. Dory is officially my favorite animated character...she was so cute and funny for sure

Heard about that contest too..I think its cool that you can win a trip to Disneyworld for 4- that would be VERY nice.

texas*princess 06-02-2003 12:06 PM

i don't see anything in those clips?

sigirl 06-02-2003 02:42 PM

I think the clips have been placed in rotation on TV or you can check them out online www.crush20.com... I had to watch them a few times before I got anything, but once you know what to look for, it's much easier.

It would be sooo cooool if i won that trip to Disney...afterall, it is where dreams come true.

Anyone else tried looking for them?

dixie wrecked 06-02-2003 08:22 PM

Awww don't feel bad it took me a while to figure out what the message was too. :( But i finally got it :) ...after watching like 3 times.

KSigkid 06-02-2003 11:04 PM

ALL the kids in my preschool class saw this movie - it's the only damn thing I heard about all day.

I heard it was good though - along the lines of Toy Story, in that it was a Disney cartoon that would be entertaining for adults.

Kevin 06-03-2003 01:58 AM

Took my girlfriend to see it... Was actually pretty good. Funny at times.

DolphinChicaDDD 06-03-2003 04:39 PM

I am still lost
What are we supposed to be looking for?? A word someone says or something hidding in the background??

A little help......please:(

texas*princess 06-03-2003 04:48 PM

hehehe I still don't get what to look for either? I've watched the clips a zillion times and feel like I must be blind or something :p

BlueBlue 06-05-2003 12:42 PM

GREAT NEWS

I was reading over the "Offical Rules" and it turns out that you can enter to win once a day. Just thought you guys should know. Well im off to increase my chances of a vacation...I really need one ;)

sigirl 06-09-2003 04:30 PM

Did you guys find them yet? I'll give you a hint...they're hidden in the background...

It's soo cool that you can enter everyday...I'm a sucker for freebies...

Have any of you guys won anything yet? Even if I don't get the trip to Disney, I'm more than happy w free McDonalds food.

texas*princess 06-09-2003 04:39 PM

I finally found it a couple of days ago!!

Thanks for the hints Schmeer :)

At first I thought it would be something 'blended' into the backgrounds.. like those rumors about the various Disney cartoons about Lion King & Alladin, but I finally figured it out.

Haven't seen it yet, but DH and I went to see Bruce Almighty this weekend -- before the previews, our theatre shows ads and movie trivia and stuff. DH said while I was out for popcorn that one of the "facts" said that the animators for the movie were "required" to go to Hawaii for a couple of weeks and learn scuba diving -- then they went on "field trips" under the sea to watch and observe so that they could create a more realistic movie.

Wow - don't we wish our jobs "forced" us to do such hard manual labor?! :D

phisigduchesscv 06-09-2003 10:43 PM

Help

Can someone help me out and PM me the secret codes. I'm running off a 56k modem at home and the clips skip and stop so I never really get to see the exam room and just as the other one gets to the kid in the department store it freezes then goes to them in the elevator and something about a happy meal.

i really need to look in to broadband

Does Disney have any job openings...I'd be more than happy to learn how to scuba dive...in HAWAII!!!!!! ;)

Anyhoo....does I admit I am lazy and sure that I have my own means of finding this out..but does anyone know when they will be doing the drawing for this contest??

AlphaGamDiva 06-10-2003 07:24 PM

omg so just saw this and i loved it...sooo cute.

thank goodness i am in a small town when i wanna go see a kiddie movie.....

sigirl 06-11-2003 04:04 PM

Ummm...it says you can enter everyday, so either they do they drawing every day, or maybe just once...

I'm not so sure....if I wasn't so lazy right now, I'd check the official rules for you.

greeklawgirl 06-11-2003 04:07 PM

We saw "Finding Nemo" last night and loved it! Such a cute, cute, movie.

"Hey, with fronds like these, who needs anemones?" ;) :p

LXAAlum 06-11-2003 04:09 PM

Took the kids to see it this weekend, but, I think I was the one laughing the loudest in the sold out theatre. Boy did I need laughter therapy, and this movie can overdose you.

The damn seagulls made me literally cry laughing.

"Mine? Mine? Mine. Mine....." oh, crap - they were so funny! That and the speaking whale scene just about did me in.

This is a don't-wait-for-DVD movie.

astroAPhi 06-11-2003 04:31 PM

Maybe we will see this during the weekend. Crazily enough, it's my boyfriend who wants to see it really bad!

MSKKG 06-13-2003 05:10 PM

Just got back from seeing it and loved it. Dory and her whale talk, the gulls, the turtles--too funny!

Ok

thanks...I think though that its you can enter once a day

and then they tally it all up and do the drawing once at the end

because if they didn't that would be a whole lot of free trips to be giving away!

I actually tried to check the offical rules to see when they would declare a winner but I just couldn't get that far. But I did find out that they close the contest on the 25 of June. Doubt that helps anyone.
