I JUST WANT TO SAY WHATS UP TO THE BEAUTIFUL LADIES OF DST, I LOVE YOU GUYS, I HAVE A QUESTION THOUGHT, I WAS WONDERING, LIKE BACK IN THE DAY THE LADIES OF DST DIDN'T HOLD UP THE PYRAMID WHEN I SAW EARLIER PHOTOS OF THEM, IS IT A REASON, OR WAS THE PYRAMID INCOPORTATED LATER ON IN THE YEARS, I MIGHT BE A STUPID QUESTION, JUST SOMETHING I WAS WANDERING.

it may be one of those things that's "unexplainable." i'm willing to bet that if you're saying "back in the day," you're referring to a time before any of us on this board were Deltas or maybe before we were born. having said that, there's a pretty good chance that none of us here can give you the answer you're seeking...either because we don't know, or we know but it's a secret. ;) :p

as an aside, I'm always amused by the questions folks ask about Delta. They never ask how we came up with the components of the Five Point Program Thrusts or if the five we have now were always in place. They always ask about some random stuff like where the call originated & what it means.

Anyhow, I just wanted to say... As a guest to the DST forum, I always feel welcomed and respected... But there is a reason for this: Read it, know it. Also, just have common sense. Greek or not, you must know that if someone you didn't know asked you about something you considered sacred, you'd be a little :confused: at them as well. You asked a question, you got an answer - - don't be upset if it wasn't what you wanted it to be.

That is because all some people do is show up to parties and step shows. People see the fun of being greek but some do not see the work involved. Some do not realize that the D9 are about SERVICE to the community.

Another thing that might be helpful to those who seek knowledge of the D9: Sometimes you have to read between the lines. For example: If you notice that an org uses a hand sign and you go back 20 years or so and notice that they did not back then, then the logical conclusion would be that within the last 20 years the hand sign was originated and used. Now, if you want to know the meaning of signs and calls, then join the org. We are secret societies for a reason. Think people, think.

LMAO, and yall calling me IGNORANT,? but itz all good ladies, but ya know, even after this, i have the same feeling about delta,they do so much in my community. I volunteer at Latino Outreach, and Habitar for Humanity, and there are always Deltas in my presence. The most phenomonal thing is that for Latino Outreach the we raised 3000 for after school programs for lationo kids in my community, going door to door, car washes and everything, and with the help of the ladies of DST it made it a whole lot easier. What was really amazing about the situation is that these weren't african american kids they were tryin to help, but Latino, just goes to show Delta is about bettering the community for all.

MORAL OF MY QUESTION:

If you cannot ask the people you know on a face to face basis, don't come asking on the Internet.

Let a bruhtha explain, okay, I was browsning aroud the net, looking at stuff, checking out greek news and different pages, and the questions was just something that came up in my mind, in the spur of the moment, so a "nieve" one like my self, decided to ask the question, LOL. Have One Daughter(My pride and Joy)

Oh, and about the Lation Outreach. No It shouldn't be THAT hard to find one. It is a program that help Latino Kids and Families in the community. We offer health services, tutoring, Fitnes/Health, and Self Awareness Services. It is a great program, and I have been volunteering there for 2 years. So if you find one, I am sure that you volunteer services can be greatly used ma'am. And to anybody else, this is a great program and if you find one in your area, you really should consider helping, your help will be greatly appreciated.

So beautiful ladies of DST, i will not ask anything else about your sorority. There are so many other question that needs to be asked, such ask.

What can we or I do to better our community?
What Can we or I do to stop so many of US(Black Men) from going to Jail?
What can we or I do rid the negative stereo type of black men in America(hard being a black man)?

Far more imporants questions. And question that needs to be answered.

I believe that the Alphas and guests to their forum had a very lively conversation going on about Black men in jail. I cannot remember the exact title of the thread, but I am sure that a Stanford man like yourself will find it.

We have a couple of threads about what public service that we are doing in our community. But why don't you start a thread about what can be done in our communities. Also check out the Delta Sigma Theta 5 Point Thrust thread here in this forum. We solicit your manly input.

The negative stereotype of Black men -- tough but GOOD question. How about you start a thread. I will ponder that question as I work on chapter 27.
