Favourite gemstone
.
|
Emerald....it's my birthstone!!! :) I also like sapphires and amethysts, because I love their beautiful colors...
|
Amethyst is my birthstone so I like it. I have a ring that my mother gave me for my sweet sixteen that is yellow gold with and an amethyst. My D Phi E sisters thought that I bought it because our colors are purple and gold. :)
Emeralds, rubies, and sapphires are beautiful, too. Although it isn't a gemstone, I like red coral. |
My all time favorite is Diamond (of course).
But my next all time favorite is Sapphire. Some others that I love include: Aquamarine Tanzanite Pearl Ametrine |
Rubies-- my birthstone.
Opals-- exciting and always different. Diamonds-- a girl's best friend. Alexandrite-- my favorite color. |
DIAMONDS!!!!!
Hehe luckily, they are my birthstone! :D |
I love Jade and Opals.
|
I'm not an Opal lover myself but for those of you who are...and I see a few...check out a black opal if you can! They're really neat! They're darker and the colors stand out well (like you see greens and reds). It's really cool!:D

I love opals . . . my grandma gave me opal earrings for my birthday when I first got my ears pierced and they were the first "real jewelry" I had.
I love diamonds -- they're my birthstone! And sapphires and emeralds are really beautiful too. |
For the longest time all I wore were opal rings from Mexico....then someone told me wearing opals (if they're not your birthstone) makes them bad luck.
Anyone else hear this? (It would explain a lot, lol...........) |
I really love rubies, all shades from deepest red to rose-colored.
On a side note, my birthstone is a garnet; a terribly ugly stone. It is the same color as a scab. When I was little I wanted to change my birthday to July so my stone could be a ruby! |
i love peridots....my birthstone....it's just a green stone, but if it's cut right, it can be SUPER pretty. i haven't been able to find a peridot with anything but yellow gold, so it sucks b/c i only wear silver or white gold.
i also love those deep blue stones.....name has left my brain....sapphires.....yeah.....those are beautiful! |
My favorite.....diamonds. My second favorite, emeralds (my birthstone). Lastly, I like sapphires (our sorority stone). But you know, any jewelry is fine to me...just as long as it looks pretty and doesn't turn my fingers or neck green! :p
|
Well, if I can't pick diamonds or pearls... I would have to say either sapphires, or blue topaz (my birthstone).
|
Hmm, I pretty much like them all *except* aquamarine, my birthstone. I've always thought it was a wimpy looking color.
|
I love sapphires and rubies! I'm a November baby and don't like my birthstone, either the traditional or modern version.
|
Even though we're not supposed to say it, I love diamonds. (They're just so sparkly!)
My other two favorites are amethyst (my birthstone) & emerald. My brother's birthstone is emerald & I can remember when I was a little kid I was so jealous because I thought emeralds were sooo much prettier! But now I like them both a lot. :) Last xmas my boyfriend got me a white gold ring with an amethyst that I adore & wear every day. |
I'm October-born, thank goodness, because I adore opals and tourmalines! I love their colors and the way there are so many different kinds. It's neat to get on eBay and see all the varieties.
My pin has opals in it and they're not whitish blue the way the other Pi Phi pins I've seen are. They are, no lie, *wine and blue*!! I've told the kids that if any of them pledge Pi Phi, they are NOT getting the opals until I'm too senile to care--I'll get them their own pin! |
I love blue topaz! It's the center stone in my engagement ring (surrounded by 9 itsy-bitsy-teeny-tiny diamonds on each side). And at my wedding, I wore blue topaz earrings and a blue topaz necklace.
|
My birthstone is ruby, and I love it. But I have more pearls than anything else, and I have to admit, they're my favorites. The pearl is also my mother's birthstone and Pi Phi's jewel, so it all works out. :D
KillarneyRose, have you ever seen a rhodolite garnet? They're raspberry colored, and very beautiful. I'm crazy about them. It might be a way for you to love your birthstone, and there's nothing scabby about them. :p |
Ooh, Silverblue, those rhodolites are gorgeous! Our family goes up to North Carolina to mine and my husband has a gift for locating hot pink rhodolites. (And sapphires. And rubies. I find moonstones :( .)

I'm the first guy to post in here.
-Rudey --Now I feel all lady-like. |

Sapphire's my favorite, BTW. DH got me a new guard for my wedding ring with diamonds & sapphires for our tenth anniversary last month. I L-O-V-E Love it! edited to add, I wrote this before I saw AlphaGamDiva's note about Peridot being pretty if cut right...maybe I've just never seen one cut right? |
Emeralds (my birthstone) and Diamonds! Love diamonds... lol!
|
For those of you NOT FOND of your birthstone check out Thaigem.com. It's great cuz often people don't realize that certain gemstones can come in different colors. For example I LOVE Garnets...I know someone said they didn't...but the Garnet family has greens, pinks, purples and even oranges. So check it out. Not too sure if I'd buy the cheaper stones but my coworker bought a Rhodelite Garnet (oval cut) and it was pretty!
|
Ruby because they are my birthstone. I also like Emeralds and Sapphires, what can I say, I like the precious gems! But I only like the deep shades of each. I hate it when rubies look to pink, or Emeralds and Sapphires look too pale. I also love pearls, they have that wonderfully classic look.
|
I agree with Kilarney...I'm also a Jan. birthday and tradtional garnets look like dried blood!
I LOVE Amethysts! Purple's my favorite color! |
Diamonds! Gotta love the bling baby! :D
Emeralds-love the color Sapphires-love the color Blue Topaz-my birthstone (December) |
I love opals.....my birthstone and also the type of stones on my badge.
My grandmother gave me an opal ring set in yellow gold. None of my other jewlery is yellow gold so I never wear it. I'm thinking of having the stone re-mounted on a white gold band. I also love diamonds and sapphires! |
Like everyone else, I love diamonds and pearls! Pearls can make almost anything look classy.
I have some beautiful sapphires (my birthstone) and rubies that I love, but my mama has a killer opal ring (we're talking up to the knuckle!) that I'm not permitted to wear since it's not my birthstone. :( She's already selected another October baby that she will leave it to - drat the luck! I like rose quartz, too - especially mixed with pale jade! |

You're going to notice a pattern here, trust me. :p
Tanzanite (I have a lavendar one set in white gold that I wear all the time) The purply/turquoise Alexandrites Amethysts Blue sapphires Deep red garnets (My birthstone) I like lots of purple LOL. Maybe I joined the wrong sorority. ;) |

I was born in January too and good thing because the Garnet is my FAV. stone. I have some amazing antiqued-jewelry that features garnets and they're so pretty. I always get complitments when I wear them because apparently most people agree with you KillarneyRose and think they're ugly! (LoL about the scab part though, I can't deny that. haha) |
*looks at the fab diamond on her left hand*
This one is my absolute favorite - 1.51 carat round cut solitaire - its got intense fire to it - Boy did a really good job of picking a stone My birthstone is amethyst. As a kid, I loved it because it was purple. It's still pretty. Boy got me some amethyst jewelry for Christmas a few times - but I never got to wear them because they didn't look good with any of my clothes Other than my engagement ring, I only wear silver jewelry (or other white metals) or pearls. I have a strand of graduated pearls that I got for HS graduation and I love them to death! |
Hematite- I like black, it's so chic.
Onyx- Again Turquoise- Looks good with black Opals- for the lighter days Amethyst- My grandmother collected it. |
rubies
emeralds amethyst |
Aquamarine of course...it's my birthstone :)

Sapphire - it's my birthstone.
Did you know that sapphires can come in just about any color except for red (then it becomes a ruby since they are both part of the corundum family)? :D |
