What do you like about other GLOs other than your own?
I thought it could be fun or interesting. What you like could be anything from that GLOs colors to their philantrophy. Just thought it might be fun and whatever you write doesn't mean that you don't love your GLO as I'm sure we all do!
:) I'll start... I really like Chi-Os colors. They are just so bright and cheery. I also like their motto. I like ADIIs colors too. The Sigma Nus at my school were always quite nice! :) Ok your turn... |
I admire Zeta Tau Alpha's commitment to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
I think Delta Gamma has the most incredible website! I think it's nice that some other sororities allow their members to wear their badges as pendants or rings. There must be something in the water at the Chi Omega houses because I have yet to meet a Chi O who is not fun, sweet, intelligent and in general a class act. I like Tri Delta's colors: silver, blue and gold |

2 snaps and a high five...
-to D Phi E for tackling the issue of eating disorders - it's something that is so prevalent and often swept under the rug.
-to DKE for standing up for associational rights and not wussing out to administrators. -to all the individual chapters who are awesome enough to include a history of their school's greek system on their website. Context is a wonderful thing. :) |
I've always thought DZ's creed was beautiful, especially the "That I may walk truly in the light of the flame". I love it!
Every Zeta that I have ever met has been so sweet! They are one of my personal favorites!! I think Kappa Delta has such a beautiful badge! I love the emeralds! |
If I may, I love all of the D-9, for all of the reasons that make us unique from each other. We are all supporting our communities in different ways but in the end it's the same thing we're doing. :)
Outside of the D-9, I would say Delta Zeta's support of the Girl Scouts and the speech and hearing impaired. Alpha Phi and Phi Sigma Sigma--I like their badgesNPC badges |
I really admire Alpha Chi Omega's commitment to the arts, even though they are no longer a music sorority. Additionally, all the AXO's I've ever met (from different schools, no less) have been ladies of class and style.
Delta Sigma Theta seems to really instill a sense of community and a commitment to improve other people's lives in their members. Sigma Phi Epsilon's Balanced Man program seems like a really innovative approach to pledging. What a great idea to focus on the whole person! The brothers of Phi Mu Alpha have so much fraternity spirit - they truly love Sinfonia! |
Any of the Divine Nine-they truly install the "lifelong commitment" into their members. You never hear a member say they WERE DST, etc.
Zeta for their amazing philanthropy. KA-I've never met one that wasn't a total gentleman. Theta-I echo KillarneyRose's sentiment about XO about Theta. I've never encountered a Theta who was not the epitome of class. Lambda Chi-Always a strong brotherhood! Theta Phi Alpha-LOVE their badge! |
?
Whats the Devine 9?
These are some great responses! |
I like the spirit I see in Alpha Gamma Deltas. No matter where they are, they always seem to have a close-knit and very active sisterhood.
And among the D9, Delta Sigma Theta has always stood out to me. It seems that whenever I read about an African American woman who has achieved personal or professional sucess, she's a Delta. |

The Union Triad, without them, who knows where we will be.
|
Phi Beta Kappa. They set the standard which led to the American founding of Kappa Sigma in 1869.
|
I love all the orgs that have symphonys. (A Chi O and Chi O?)
I love SigEp for doing the BMP and showing all the fraternities on my campus that you can get guys without demeaning them. I love Sigma Alpha's philanthrophy. I love Phi Mu's colors and symbols and open ideals. I love KD's website, and how every KD I have encountered had always been very Panhellenic. I love all the D-9 orgs for working so hard at everything, be it intake or service or scholarship - they have true dedication. |
I'd have to say I like our cohorts in the Miami Triad: Phi Delta Theta and Sigma Chi. Despite the tendency of fraternities to be very singular and exclusive, nearly early 150 years later, our 3 still have a strong bond based on an unparalleled history in the fraternity world.
rock on miami ! |
I love the colors and symbol-the lamp of Delta Zeta
I also love Chi Omegas symbol-the owl-I have had many baby owls in the clinic lately and they are sooooooo cute!!!! |
Nationally, I have to respect Phi Delta Theta and Kappa Sigma for standing up for their ideals and taking a drastic step in resigning from NIC, that takes a lot of testicular fortitude.
On my own campus, I like that Pike has opened up the greek experience for guys who normally wouldn't have gone greek. Without a house they've become the largest chapter on campus and all the sororities really like them. I hope they realize that not having a house is what makes them unique and allowed them to get the guys they have gotten...those not looking for a more typical Nebraska fraternity experience. |
I admire the sisters of Kappa Delta. They have a lot of class and panhellenic spirit... no matter what chapter I meet.
I like the KKG- I guess it is the Key, but really I just think they have a great group overall. Same for Kappa Alpha Theta's- these two are nationally excellent. |
On my campus:
I love the PIKES because they don't wait for guys to come to them. Being on a predominantly white campus, a lot of the blacks(well, all 20 of us) are scared to ask about Greek life since there's only 1 NPHC organization. The PIKES threw caution to the wind and made sure that the black men on our campus knew that PIKE's doors were always open to them. . .even if they didn't decide to join. I love Sigma Kappa because they strive for academic excellence like no other. All Greeks: I love SAEs. I love Alpha Delta Pi for being the first fraternity for women (growls like a lion). I love Delta Zeta and Alpha Kappa Alpha for their colors. I love Sigma Chi for allowing my cousin to develop into a mature (and extremely handsome) young man. A player. However, still mature. I love Delta Delta Delta, Sigma Chi, Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Phi Sigma Sigma, Alpha Delta Pi, Kappa Delta, Chi Omega, Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and Sigma Lambda Beta for making my family one of the most Greek diverse families I've ever met. Greek Love! |
**I love ALL Greeks that stay true to their goals, objectives and tenants their founders set forth and that add to them from the needs of today's collegiates.
**In particular, I like Zeta Phi Beta for their strong lifelong commitment and alumnae involvement. **I like Alpha Phi Alpha for their professionalism and dedication to their issues. |
BESIDES the fact that my daughter is one, I like the open motto of DG. DO GOOD! I mean, how much clearer can it get? It's beautiful in it's simplicity.
I love the white cross of SX and of course the song, "Sweetheart of Sigma Chi". I love the way LXA is represented by their GC members. There is such consistency in their attitudes and demeanor. I have great admiration for AKA. Couldn't tell you what their motto, symbol or colors are, but those ladies have personality and a style all their own! |
On GC... I love the AGD's! They represent on here like no other. There's prolly more of them on here than any other org! (at least on Greek Life and Chit Chat!)
|
The Tri-Delts because of the mascot (dolphins are beautiful and intelligent creatures).
Alpha Chi Omega - the philanthropy (fighting domestic violence). Phi Mu - their founders' day is on my birthday (January 4). Kappa Delta and Alpha Epsilon Phi - their colors resemble my sorority's Theta Phi Alpha - again the mascot (penguins are cute, funny and always dressed for the occasion) Alpha Kappa Alpha for their colors pink and green http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...happy/wink.gif http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/pyth.gif :D  http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/monalisa.gif |
I don't know enough about the fraternities, but I'll cover the sororities:
Alpha Chi Omega: I love their symphony. Alpha Delta Pi: I think it's awesome that they were the first collegiate secret society for women and paved the way for the rest of us. Alpha Epsilon Phi: I love their flower and mascot. Alpha Gamma Delta: I love their spirit! It seems like every AGD is really cool and full of energy. And of course there are tons of them here on GC. Alpha Omicron Pi: I love the panda mascot, and how they're original by having only one color and using their flower in place of a crest. Alpha Phi: I love their flowers, and their crest. I also think their commitment to alumnae initiation is really cool, and I hope other groups follow their lead. Alpha Sigma Alpha: I love their colors! Alpha Sigma Tau: I love their flower, and the anchor symbol. Alpha Xi Delta: I really like all AZD's symbols . . . I think they fit together really well. Chi Omega: Every Chi O I've met has been awesome. And there are so many of them! :D Delta Gamma: I think their website is awesome and so thorough -- it really sets the standard for the rest of the groups. I love their badge. And I think the fraternity-assisted COB thing that they do is wonderful; it really shows the commitment that their HQ has to the chapters. Delta Phi Epsilon: I think their philanthropy -- for eating disorders research -- is wonderful. I also love their colors and symbols. Delta Zeta: I love the colors, and the lamp symbol. Gamma Phi Beta: I love the symbol of the crescent moon . . . since the crescent is a favorite of us Tri Delts too. :) Kappa Alpha Theta: I like that their flower is, like ours, a pansy. And I've never met a Theta who wasn't the epitome of classy. Kappa Delta: I LOVE their open motto. I also think their philanthropy work with the Girl Scouts is really cool. Kappa Kappa Gamma: I love the key symbol, and their colors. I also think it's cool how they let each chapter pick their own philanthropy to work with. Their badge is really pretty. Phi Mu: I love their colors . . . I'm a girly girl. Phi Sigma Sigma: I love that they were founded to be as diverse as possible, and as far as I can see they continue to be one of the most diverse NPC sororities out there. Pi Beta Phi: I love the angel as their mascot, and their philanthropy of working for literacy. Sigma Delta Tau: I think the torch symbol is so cool. Sigma Kappa: All their symbols and colors are so pretty. Sigma Sigma Sigma: I think their open motto is really cool, and it's awesome how they have a chapter in Germany. Theta Phi Alpha: I love their colors (same as Tri Delta's!) and the penguin mascot is really cute. Zeta Tau Alpha: Their commitment to their philanthropy is amazing. Alpha Kappa Alpha: I love the colors, and the ivy leaf symbol. Delta Sigma Theta: I love the colors. Sigma Gamma Rho: I think the badge is beautiful. Zeta Phi Beta: I love the symbols. Plus, I love how all the NPHC sorority members are in it for life, and how busy their GC forums are -- I can only wish the Tri Delt forum was that busy. |

Back on topic -- The D-9 - y'all are just awesome. I love the way that you keep the lifelong committment going, and that you keep your secrets and business private. Most of the GC'ers from the D-9 on here are great people, and you really represent yourself and your orgs well! KA's -- true gentlemen ALWAYS! I love KA - I love the traditions, honor, and respect that they represent. The XO, AGD, and DZ members of GC always have something wonderful to add. You guys have really represented yourselves well on here also. Gotta agree with JAM on the DG motto - plain and simple! Just about any org with a "real" mascot....meaning something that I could go to a store and buy!! Not too many "lyres" out there, except at Christmas, and I just really wish I had a cute and cuddly mascot :( Don't get me wrong, I love my Golden Lyre -- I just want something to snuggle :p |
Kappa Kappa Gamma- The blue on blue
Gamma Phi Beta- The stars and cresents Alpha Omicron Pi- The panda Zeta Tau Alpha- The turquoise and Delta Zeta- because I am *STILL* a Girl Scout |

Girl Scouts is definately one of KD's big philanthropies, i'm not sure about DZ's. Unless it's something new?
|
I like Sigma Kappa's One Heart, One Way Motto!
I like Phi Mu Alpha's seranading songs! I like Sigma's violets and purple! I like Phi Mu's creed! |
All the Founders and Alpha Chapters of our various organizations
for beginning traditions for us to take pride in and continue!!! :) |
I love my Syracuse Triad "big sisters," Alpha Phi and G Phi B :)
I also really admire a lot of the workshops and programming of the GLOs of the Divine Nine. |
I admire ZTA for their dedication to fight breast cancer, and being a ZTA legacy with a mom who was an advisor, I was around ZTAs a lot growing up and they were always so sweet to me!
KA: always true Southern gentleman Phi Mu: some of my best friends are Phi Mu and they are completely classy! Pi Phi: I love your colors! And although, the Chi O symphony is VERY dear to my heart, Alpha Chi also has a beautiful symphony and all of the Alpha Chis that I have met are just sweet hearts. I am impressed by ADPis devotion to scholarship on my campus. |
Phi Delta Theta, Pi Beta Phi & Alpha Delta Pi- Nice Colors
Delta Gamma & Sigma Chi- For their philanthropty efforts. I think its cool that their philanthropy effort is uniform throughout the organization, and every chapter has a Anchor Splash or Derby Days Sigma Chi & Sigma Nu- Cool Badges Phi Mu, Delta Gamma & Delta Delta Delta- Cool symbols (especially the anchor and the trident) |
I like this!
DPhieE's philanthropy! DZ's colors! ADPi for being the pioneers! I've never met any DZ's, ADPi's, PiPhi's or SGRho's but I've been very impressed by their GC members! |
Just a few off the top of my head:
I definately admire both Zeta Tau Alpha & Delta Phi Epsilon for their committment to outstanding philantropies:) I think the badges of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Delta Gamma are beautiful and unique! I like the lamp symbol of Lambda Chi Alpha & Delta Zeta I admire Phi Mu because although I have never met any Phi Mu's in person, the ladies of Phi Mu on GC are a wonderful representation of their organization! I thought it was so sweet when they welcomed me to their 'sister sorority' when I recieved my bid to ADPi :) I also like the lion ;) The men I have met of Lambda Chi Alpha are all so nice & I think they represent their organization well! I have also met some members of Delta Sigma Phi and they were all true gentlemen! |

i love ZTA and pi phi's colors. both are beautiful and different!
i love kappas colors, their key, and their flower. i know its "technically" a fleur-de-lis, but its basically an iris right? and iris is my middle name! i love (and hate! haha) that i still have a kappa and a theta chant in my head from recruitment in november of 2001. kappa kappa gamma, kkg, go kappa gamma...and....im a theta, shes a theta, wouldnt you like to be a theta? thanks for being memorable! hah i love DG's cause i almost couldve been one, and i love their pin! i love how well AGD and alpha phi's are represented here on GC, they always seem like such amazing women! i havent known many AGD's in real life, but the alpha phi's i know are amazing as well. and i dont know many fraternity men (surprise) but we were paired with, and several of ours girls date, KAs and they are true gentlemen! they would practically run to beat us to the doors so they could open them for us. and they are also very involved on our campus, its a blessing to be paired with them, because so many show up to everything! and i love every sorority for their own history. i love going to other chapters websites, and reading about how they began. its fasicnating to me, and theres just not enough literature on every group out there to keep me happy! :D AX love and mine roxydiva |
Ewww everyones badges! How neat. Lets see. I like KD, ADII. Wow Pi Phi and DZ are sooooo neat looking! This is a neat site! Never seen it before! Thanks!
|
I love Alpha Sigma Tau's open motto: Active, Selfreliant, Trustworthy.
I love how Alpha Kappa Alpha, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Delta Sigma Theta all have a strong committment to alumni/graduate membership. Its great that they recognize that women are worthy of joining a sister hood whether they are 18, 38, or 68. I love how Alpha Epsilon Phi only has one badge design, and that every single sister wears an identical badge. There's more, but my brain can't think of them right now :) |
I worked for an Alpha Phi Alpha, and his huge commitment to his fraternity even in his later life was a reflection of the brotherhood (and sisterhood) that I completely admire of the D9.
I love the active pins of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi & Alpha Delta Pi Delta Gamma is an all-around great organization. Beta Theta Pi's Men of Principle Initative ("Our brotherhood aids the individual, builds the Fraternity and strengthens the host academic institution through lifelong devotion to intellectual excellence, high standards of moral conduct and responsible citizenship") and Sigma Phi Epsilon's Balanced Man Program ("Building Balanced Leaders for the World's Communities") are wonderful examples of fraternal excellence. |
