Xenadrine
I searched for this topic.......but I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion on weight loss products. Have you tried Xenadrine? And if you had any side effects. Thanks!

Just SAY NO!!!
My roommate took them (Xenadrine) for a short while, and when she took them, she was a complete space cadet and basket case. I have never seen someone who had such radical mood changes...it was like she was bipolar. She was very emotional and she couldnt FOCUS. She is usually a very quiet girl and mellow person, and it was odd for her to talk a millions miles an hour about random stuff and run around like a chicken with its head cut off. She just say whatever that popped into her head and would wake me up at 4 am to go get ice cream. I took one one day cause I needed an energy boost, and WHOA! I am already an outgoing, high energy person....and this stuff made me WAY CRAZY. I was at work, and my manager took me aside and asked if I had taken speed or something...lol I was entertained by her for awhile, but it got annoying. She quit taking them and I am happy. Also, it didnt help her lose any weight. |
NO GOOD. xen is the devil, i'm not kidding. i was sittin in class one day when i was takin it, and all of a sudden i felt my heart go "ba dum bum.....bum......bumbum.......bu...." and i thought i was dying. haven't taken it since. it totally messes you up.....stick with exercise and vitamins....natural sources of energy. while it's still tempting to try other products out there, it also still freaks me out. i wanna lose some weight, but i also don't wanna be DEAD to do it. :p

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STUFF!!!!
It seemed like just about every girl in my house had a bottle of this stuff last year during Recruitment and by the time the week was over we were all a mess. And then later in the fall we had a girl go to the hospital b/c of taking it. SCARY STUFF!!! Just say no!!!! |
I echo what everyone else here has said... STAY AWAY FROM THIS STUFF.
I was the weight loss pill queen. Xenadrine, Hydroxycut, you name it. Aside from feeling high and ready to bounce of walls, I suffered from chest pains because it caused my heart to race like a maniac. In the end, yeah I lost weight, but you couldn't even tell. Stick to vitamins, exercise, and a healthy diet. If you value your life, you'll stay away from that stuff!!!! |
hmm...
ive never had a problem with the stuff, sure it made me a little more hyper but it did help me lose a lot of weight. I used Xen and Hydroxycut. the hydroxycut worked better for me with less side effects. FYI both companies will be going ephedrine free, Hydroxycut already has and xenadrine will be soon. from what i understand, it has different effects for different people common sense is always the best rules, if you get the crazy side effects stop taking it immediately. also, its important if you are gonna use to start slowly, a lot of people jump into the reccommended dose, you need to start on one a day to test your tolerance. |
I had my own experience with Xenadrine... it did make me all jittery for the first 10 or 15 minutes, but then I crashed. It made me so lethargic that I couldn't keep my eyes open in class. It scared me sometimes because I thought I was going to pass out and never wake up. I would recommend good old vitamins and exercise. Anyone at Mason should just hit Freshens in the JC and get a non-dairy fruit smoothie with the free MetRx boosters. They work wonders and they're delicious to boot!!!Stay away from the weight loss pills or at least try something ephedra-free.

Hi everyone,
thanks so much for all of the info! Looks like I'll be sticking to old fashioned diet and exercise. I was just looking for a shortcut to shed a few pounds to look better in a bridesmaid dress. Thank God it actually fits, it is just a little tight. Not worth risking my health though. |
Apparently the governor of Illinois just signed legislation banning the sale of ephedra in the state.

I used it, didn't like the way it makes me feel, and ended up not using it anymore. Someone told me I didn't drink enough water when using it, but I just felt too jittery when working out. I know people who have had success with it, but my own personal preference is to stay away from it. Collin |
those pills are scary. not worth risking your health or life

Xenadrine and epehedrine products are only like to hurt you if you have a pre-existing condition.
Generally, if you shouldn't be drinking coffee or taking other stimulants, you should not be taking xenadrine lol. Coffee makes people jittery because its a stimulant. Especially large amounts. That jitteriness is not usually considered a sign of incipient death lol. Ephedrine is likewise a stimulant. Both things, caffeine and ephedrine make you less jittery when taken with food. |

Damn isn't that the state that likes to falsely imprison people, choke confessions out of people, and execute the innocent? Glad to see that diet pills are of great concern to them.
What a wierd ass state. Hope I don't meet many people from there lol. Quote:

I've cycled with this stuff when I needed to lose weight rapidly. I use Ripped Fuel stacks before. I don't think they make the version I used anymore because of the higher ephedrine content.
Anyway, now I use something called Hot-Rox from Biotest. I haven't seen the results yet but it's supposed to be a more advanced product. -Rudey --I probably just blew my money away on powdered goat nads or something. |
One of my bro's worked at GNC and got me a bottle of Xenadrine. I was on it for 1 week, and it was awful.
I would sit in class and not be able to pay attention, or I would sit still and my hands would shake. I would be jittery for most of the day, but by late afternoon I would "crash," and be so exhausted that I didn't want to move. The final straw was when I started to break out from the excess amount of ephedrine... The stuff is bad news |
I think it all depends on the person. I took Xen and Metabolife. . .alternating between the two. The key to these pills are to drink LOTS OF WATER. Usually when you're on caffeine pills and you start to shake, that means you arent drinking enough water to counteract the drug. And you're not supposed to exercise heavily with these pills. That's how come so many people end up dying. There's ephedrine to speed up the metabolism for you. So, take a quick but not fast-paced hour walk and eat right.
I lost 15 pds last summer. So, it really was a great booster for me. Of course, I couldn't afford the pills so I'm back to exercising and eatting one time a day. |
I took Xenadrine and lost weight... but I also shook all the time and would black out. Kind of scary. I guess I probably shouldn't have been taking it when I only weighed 120 pounds to start and didn't eat. I do know a lot of guys who have had great results in toning and building muscle when they take it before working out.
I tried Ephedra-Free Xenadrine and it didn't really seem to work at all. :( |
I just read this today:
"An analysis of reports to poison-control centers revealed that products containing ephedra accounted for 64 percent of adverse effects reported, although they represent just 1 percent of total herbal-product sales." - Shape magazine Now I'm not saying that Shape magazine is the most reliable source of journalism, but that fact alone would be enough to scare me away from the stuff. |

Exactly! And if you have asthma or take antidepressants, they are even worse for you.
Stay the hell away from them Quote:

You're not supposed to exercise HEAVILY That's what the doctor said when I called She said that a brisk 30 minute walk every day Is okay but nothing over exerting If your friend's a personal trainer, he knows that The key to losing weight is to burn more calories out Than what you put in That's where the pills come in To suppress so that you don't comsume more calories And also, lots of water. . .over the recommended amount No sense in dying from weight loss I have tons of friends who lost weight by taking the pills And they didn't have any problems except the shakes But once they drank tons of water They were fine  |
