Espn
Does anyone else find themselves watching SportsCenter like two or three times in a row and by the time you get the the third time you can practically quote it. Please don't let me be the only one.
|
Yup. And they all write and talk alike.
|
i am not alone in the world
|
Me too. Scary part is I just have to have something on while I am working or on the phone. Its SportsCenter, Headline News or The Weather Channel. "Theres a High pressure system moving in from the west..." lol
|
That's a habit I picked up in about 5th grade during the summers. My lil' bro and I would be up by about 8:30, watch SportsCenter until noon and start the day.
Unfortunately most girls don't understand this behavior, and end up blaming it on SportsCenter...More than once in the past 2 months since Spring Break, I've had to defend SC's honor ;) |
Even though I'm a girl...
I'm still an avid ESPN fan and yes, find myself watching Sportscenter every 5 minutes finding out about the draft, and this whole Big East-ACC thing...my dad is heavily affiliated with ESPN and works for them so I kind of have to be a loyal fan and have been growing up...
Regarding last night's lottery...who knew Gund was blind? I sure didn't but I bet he's thrilled to get Lebron:p |
lol, RedFox, I'm right there with you... espn is one of those channels that's just programed to my TV- but I find myself watching for baseball scores most of the time :)
|
I do that. Sometimes I fall asleep to it as well.
|
sometimes i sit and watch the 2am sportscenter after i get back from the bar . . . then i'll get up at 11 and watch it again the next day.
it's ok though - i can tell you milton bradley's OBP and scott stevens' record in game 7s for his career, which is nice, chicks dig it |
I definitely do that - did it in high school, and now that I've got cable again I'm doing it all over again.
There's also the "watch ESPNews for hours on end" phenomenon going on too - kinda like the SportsCenter thing. |
I watch SportsCenter too and don't worry, you're not the only one.
I think I have a problem because its theme song is my default ringtone on the phone. |
I used to do it in the summers in early high school. Or when I'd have sick days from school, I'd just lie in bed for hours watching SportsCenter.
|
Dude, SportsCenter Rocks. (And Stuart Scott is a major hottie):o
|
What's bad is ESPN actually markets this, with there advertising how it's on 6-7 times a day...

da da da DA DA DA (crude attempt to write down the Sports Center theme song) |
Well thank you all for making me feel better about my addiction.
Ahem, My name is Chad and I am a ESPNaholic. I especially liked the girls chiming in. |
Right now I'm too ghetto to have my Directv hooked up, but when I had it, the only channels I bothered to watch were ESPN related. Especially when March madness was in full swing, I'd sit on the couch watching from the time I got home until I fell asleep. I'm pathetic.
|
I do like Sports Center, but they play it too frequently and provide the same information over and over again.
|
I've watched ESPN
Since the late 1970s, when it debuted. The channel's gotten sooo much better over the years, namely when it added pro sports.

Re: I've watched ESPN

My hometown is actually where ESPN began and is still based (Bristol, Connecticut). Growing up around ESPN was awesome, and when I got into high school I actually did a few stories for the local newspaper on ESPN personalities, the opening of ESPNews, the 20th anniversary, and a few other of the goings-on down there. Talking to the people who have worked down there the whole time (not just on-air talent, but the technicians, researchers, and everyone else), you get a sense of how a network goes from low-profile to high-profile. The great thing is that many of the anchors are still really cool people. Stuart Scott, Rich Eisen, Chris Berman, Dan Patrick, Karl Ravech, Bob Ley, and a bunch others have been nothing but friendly and extremely approachable in every instance I've had talking to them. In fact, Keith Olberman was the only anchor who was a jerk. Pretty impressive considering how big they've become. Collin |
