I planned to go to SUNY in Purchase but now i think im switching to a different SUNY school because they have no greek and i need that stable sisterly environment. I was just wondering.. r u from SUNY? And what Sorority/Fraternity do you belong to? Lil sister

I didnt go into the SUNY system (I wanted to get away from Upstate NY for college) but I have friends who are in SUNY Geneseo's system. One associate is an alum of Sigma Kappa there. From what I have seen of the sororities most of them have a great sisterhood.

Forito do your best in high school, get the best grades possible, join whatever clubs or sports teams interest you, and READ! Most importantly, enjoy your high school experience. That way you will have options as to what colleges will accept you. Maybe SUNY, maybe the Ivy League, maybe Seven Sisters, or maybe something you can't even imagine now. Don't limit yourself this early in the game. You have so much time to decide, and everything will happen in its own time. :) Good luck! |
Cream- thanx for the advice, its helpful! Sisters-any others besides Delta Phi Epsilon?
|
Binghamton's NPC sororities are AEPhi, Alpha Phi, Alpha Xi Delta, Sigma Delta Tau, Phi Sigma Sigma, and Delta Phi Epsilon.
For the rest of the SUNY system check out www.greekpages.com and click campuses, and look up the letter N. That will take you to a list of the SUNYs. You can see the listings of some of the individual campuses there. Click on each one to see the sororities. I hope that I helped. :D |
In Buffalo State:
Alpha Epsilon Phi Sigma Delta Tau Alpha Sigma Tau Phi Sigma Sigma At least when I was there. And that was bout three years ago. SUNY Purchase has a great fine arts, dance, etc. dept. |
okay. not to burst a bubble. but the greekpages site is TERRIBLY out of date and incorrect. it's got three sororities listed for my former school and one of them is a service group. ehhhhhhhh. stupid site. and it's still got chapters listed for alfred university.

Hello Forito,
If you're only looking at SUNY schools Phi Sigma Sigma has quite a few chapters at them. We are fairly strong in the state of New York as a whole as we were originally found at Hunter College and spread out from there (unfortunately our Alpha Chapter is close :( Here are the SUNY schools that have Phi Sigs: Buffalo, Binghamton, Brockport, Albany, Stony Brook, Oswego, Oneonta, College at Buffalo, College-Cortland. If you want to consider other schools in NY state we also have chapters at Iona College, U of Rochester, Syracuse (just recolonized with 90 women), Clarkson, Pace, Hofstra, Long Island-CW Post, College of Staten Island. My suggestion is keep your options open for schools. Look for the school that is best for helping you acheive your goals in life and then see what sororities are there. Carolyn |
I'm an alumane of Delta Phi Epsilon for SUNY New Paltz, if you have any specific questions.

Hi Lil Sister!
I didn't go to school in NY, but I just checked www.alphaphi.org and found that Alpha Phi has chapters at SUNY Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo and Cortland. There are also Alpha Phi chapters in NY at Cornell, Hofstra, Rensselaer, Syracuse (our Alpha chapter), Plattsburgh State and U. of Rochester. If you ever have a lot of time on your hands, you could probably check out the websites for the various NPC organizations because I think most of them probably list collegiate chapters like Alpha Phi does. I would guess that many of them also provide links to the collegiate chapters, so you could visit the web pages of the actual chapters and get a feel for the different organizations in NY. Good luck!!! :) |
SUNY Buffalo has Alpha Gamma Delta.
