7th Heaven Finale

I know it's cheezy ;) but I watched the Finale today. I was confused about something: who were the men at the door at the end when Eric answered it?

mu_agd 05-19-2003 09:36 PM

One was the Police Detective. Not sure who the other one was...

pinkyphimu 05-19-2003 09:47 PM

i think the other was a detective, too. i am not surprised that we won't find out until next season whether or not lucy is pregnant....but i am definately perplexed about the police. my first thought was that eric's dad died.....but why would the police come. i think mary did something, tho. we will just have to wait until sept. to see...lol.

AUDeltaGam 05-19-2003 09:50 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused!

I bet it has to do with Mary

jennybloch 05-19-2003 09:51 PM

the white guy was one of the deacons from church, ladies. He's been in the show before, like when Eric decided to leave the church, and when they were planning something else for him and Eric thought they were trying to fire him.

phisigduchesscv 05-20-2003 02:02 AM

The black guy was Detective Michaels one of the family friends. The white guy was Lou one of the Deacons of the church and a family friend as well. My guess is the way they told Eric they have to talk that something has happened to someone since.

Either something happened to Mary since the actress who plays her has wanted off the show for the past couple of years. That or something happend to Matt's wife, Sarah. Remember Sarah was on her way to meet her parents in Florida. Matt has been trying to contact her all day long and she hasn't returned his calls. The other possibility would be there were there to warn Eric that Christine, the Tara Lipinski character, is a hooker - that would be the longshot possibility though.

Hootie 05-20-2003 02:04 AM

GOD I miss 7th Heaven. I'm never home to watch it. I've completely missed this entire season! :(

there was really only a slight blurb of conversation about it. Something about Mary getting married and needing an annulment, not sure what that was about. It does make me think that she'll be back next season so if Detective Michaels and Lou are there to give Eric bad news that it is probably my theory that something happened to Matts wife.

Guess we'll have to wait until September to find out.

valkyrie 05-20-2003 11:17 AM

I watched part of last night's episode even though I don't watch the show any more. It's too cheesy! Seriously, who stands around in the hallway with her brothers giving her hugs because she has "become a woman?"

I'm sure the cop showed up at the end because someone was in some sort of an accident or something. Next season, there will be dramatic hospital scenes but then everything will be fine. Isn't that how it always happens?

Unregistered- 05-20-2003 12:54 PM

I don't think it has anything to do with Mary. Jessica Biel wanted out a long time ago but Aaron Spelling wouldn't let her, but still, I don't think that they'd do anything drastic to write her off.

My money's on Sarah, Matt's wife....which would suck because of all the girls Matt's been with, Sarah's the only one I actually liked.

juniorgrrl 05-21-2003 12:58 AM

My mom saw it and thinks it has to do with Mary - she says that Annie was talking about "life" and all right before it happened - so she thinks that someone's gonna die, and it might be Mary

I have a question.....I didn't see this ep.....so did they actually say something about an annulment??? This is confusing if they did because annulment is a Catholic thing and they are DEFINATLY not Catholic...

mary told lucy that she wanted to get an annulment and that she hoped their father would help her get one without telling her mother..

I didn't see it either, but I think a Catholic annulment annuls the marriage in the eyes of the church (especially with the traditional Catholic view of divorce being a BAD thing) but i'm pretty sure there's some sort of civil-based annulment. Not an area of law that i'm familiar with yet, but i'm betting there is. Probably varies from state to state.

jennybloch 05-21-2003 10:52 AM

yes, you can get an annulment if you're not Catholic. Usually it's for "mistake" marriages (think Ross and Rachel in Las Vegas on Friends) Or if something comes up that wasn't previously known in the relationship. Also, I think it usually has to be within a certain time period, or you have to go through a divorce. I think it's a way of ending a marriage without having to go through all the legal hassles of a divorce so early on into a marriage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

juniorgrrl 05-21-2003 11:09 AM

There are religious annulments and civil annulments. The Catholic church doesn't allow people who have been divorced to remarry, so that's why they require an annulment - they're fairly difficult to get (or at least used to be).

A civil annulment basically does the same thing - it makes the marriage as if it never existed. But its from a legal standpoint.

When you get a church annulment, I'm pretty sure that you need to still fill out the paperwork to get the civil one.

just a heads up..the season premiere is tonight :)

AGDLynn 09-15-2003 08:30 PM

I am soooo glad I happened to turn on the tv to see it is the season opener....pm me and I'll tell you what the men at the door wanted;)

mullet81 09-15-2003 11:21 PM

oohhh tell me!!! i'm so mad i missed the premiere!!!

tunatartare 09-15-2003 11:59 PM

Can you tell me too? I had to miss it because of a sorority meeting.

SparkliiQTMTSU 09-16-2003 12:01 AM

OMG that was a good show but it could have been better, Lucy isnt pregnant although they want a child dont think it will happen tho at least not anytime soon, Simon killed someone accidently but he hit someone while driving he ended up leaving and going to see Matt in NY and I dont know what else I can say since everyone and their brother decided to call me while I was watching it tonite.

Nichole

AGDLynn 09-16-2003 09:32 AM

Well...since she already told most of it...:)

Simon was driving the car that killed a young guy, not sure of his age or if he was on a motorcycle or reg. bike...that's kind of sketchy....end of the episode the parents decided not to sue bcause the kid that died was on drugs.... (they are going to show what really happened next week. because it is really going to hit Simon hard)

Simon had already gone to NY to see Matt who had gone out of town.. .

RUTHIE's "boyfriend" has moved up in the pecking order...he now gets his pic in the intro, lol. Sam and David appear to be aging as normal..as in they won't be getting their driver's lic. next week.

"Mom" was barely in this episode.

and then there's Mary and Carlos

It's a 2-parter

;) :D

I haven't watched this show in forever, but the last show I caught was that Lucy was going to be getting married. Did that fall through? :( I like Lucy.

mu_agd 09-16-2003 10:35 AM

nope, they're married.

MeLikey 09-16-2003 11:47 AM

I haven't watched the show in a long time, but I caught a little part of last night's episode. I really liked the intense scene between the parents... [he goes, tell me what you wanted to tell me all summer, yes, one life is changed but one life is gone, we're the lucky ones, etc., and she tells him all I was going to say was why didn't the parents make sure he was wearing a helmet. I was like whoa, good scene.

AGDLynn 09-16-2003 11:54 AM

Just checking to see if you were paying attention!!! ;) :D

Changing it to say RUTHIE!

LeslieAGD 09-22-2003 09:26 PM

Anyone else catch the season premiere?

They moved my Boston Public to Friday (yuck) so now I'm back to 7th Heaven. Appartently I have some catching up to do.

xok85xo 01-12-2004 09:29 PM

okay so, i understand that this show wants to convey the message of love and you marry someone when you love them and want to sleep with them and whatever, but doesn't it kind of belittle the sanctity of marriage when people are getting married or talking about marriage after only dating for a couple of weeks?

Add to that how many times both Mary and Lucy almost decided to get married. I swear, between those two and Matt, significant others came and went just as fast as the opening and closing credits.

I still watch it though. Both on the WB and on ABC Family.

I totally agree. I've lost count of the number of men Mary wanted to marry. She runs off and has a relationship with a man old enough to be her dad. Then, she follows up that with marrying a random homeless character from a prior episode. Matt just decides "I'm getting married immediately." Now he has marital issues. Geez, wonder why?

To me, 7th Heaven has good story lines and good concepts but the acting isn't up to par in my book. The acting doesn't seem natural, kind of forced. Does anyone else notice that?

Jessica Simpson's little sister Ashlee (Cecelia) really needs some acting lessons.

However, I do adore McKenzie Rosman, the girl who plays Ruthie. I've been watching the show since the beginning, and watching her grow up like that is amazing. And I like her sassy attitude!

You're right! The stiffest actor working is the guy who plays Lucy's husband. I sometimes wish he'll get hurt on the job just so I won't have to see him playing this tough guy role. They definitely need a recast there.

You know he only got the job because of his brother (real life and on screen).

You gotta admit though, they're freaking hot.

SparkliiQTMTSU 01-14-2004 05:40 AM

I'm wondering if Mary and Carlos are gonna be on the show like at all anymore. I mean since she is supposed to be having a baby and all Id think they would show some of that, of course since Jessica really doesnt wanna be on the show that might be the reason. blah but yeah Ashlee does need some acting lessons shes not that great shes a cute girl but she needs to loosen up a bit.

ugh i absolutely cannot stand the girl..shes too much of a nosey busy-body for a 12 year old. seriously, go ride your horses and read a book, you're 12 - not 22. act like it.

butterfly2001nc 01-14-2004 11:53 AM

i just wish they would focus more on the Camden family instead of all these misc. folks.

Can i have a sister in the industry so i can be on tv too? (note the sarcasm) :)

Yes, but they're run out of kids! The twins are too young, Ruthie is annoying, and much, much more annoying than Ruthie is Lucy! So they've got to take in neighbor kids who otherwise could be living with relatives.:p

Ashlee sucks. She was a much better VJ, when she could just be herself.

does anyone else feel like these kids should be reported to child services for neglect? they seem to be developmentally behind in how they speak, are they supposed to be in school yet? and what's with them always looking for food, worrying about when their next meal will be, and now hiding it in "their" cupboard and under pillows? do they not get fed?
