Texas GC meeting??
 

Is anyone down? I say some time in mid June, perhaps in San Antonio or Austin.

Sign me up. I am there. Name the time and place. Since were the cool Texas kids that we are, we should go grab dinner first then head off to a show. Pat Gren, REK, Reckless Kelly, whomever is playing at the time...

I'm down. Give me enough notice so that I can get time of work and I'm there. Having seen the rest of Texas since I've been here.

I wish I would have been able to meet up with TX GC people when I lived down there. Although I did get to meet aggieaxo!

How about the weekend of Friday, June 13 -- Sunday, June 15. Any of those days should be fine for me. We have Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio represented, so far, so any suggestions as to where?

I am in-anytime is good for me-this time we have to meet for sure!

I think Austin would be a god place since it is central but S.A. is good too. I don't know anyone in Houston and that city really intimidates me.

Depending on the weekend, Mr. Adrienne and I could probably do it. We have some travel plans that month, but if there's no conflict, we might just be there!

Good excuse to use up one of my two free hotel nights in San Antonio I won at this travel fair here in Dallas a few months ago. Lemme know the dates... :)

It looks like San Antonio or Austin would be a good place to meet. Would Friday, June 13 work well for everyone? I have two weddings to go to in June and am not sure of the dates. I do know they are both on a Saturday, so I cannot commit to a Saturday in June. If a Saturday would work better for you all, not a problem. I'll just catch up with y'all the next time. :cool:

I'd be sending my well-wishes from Boston on that weekend. From June 13 thru June 18 I'm at a scientific conference w/ Mr. Adrienne in tow for vacation.

I think most everyone who showed initial interest has posted their availability. It looks like Friday, June 27 is our day. I recommend Austin or San Antonio as both are centrally located. I think Austin would be our better bet, so that the Dallas area folks wouldn't have to travel an additional hour or so to San Antonio. We SA GC'ers can car pool to Austin if you'd like.

Now, what to do, what to do. Here is a suggestion from when we tried doing this last year:

I'm not too familiar with Austin, but i'm down for whatever y'all want to do. Although, i did almost get molested by a rather large Chuck D wannabe one night on 6th Street, so you[ll have to excuse me if i'm a little apprehensive about going to certain bars. :D

Although, if we stay in SA, i suggest Rudy's, then maybe Leon Springs Dance Hall. (conviently located 15 miles from my house) ;)

But i'm down for whatever y'all cats want to do. SATX, i trust your decision.

Mr. Adrienne and I have never been to Austin, but want to visit at some point, and we LOVE San Antonio. Either way is good for us, just leave good directions. ;)

I'd like to throw in my vote for San Antonio.

There are a good amount of us from the area, and we know the city pretty well and can come up with some good ideas.

I already looked into that. Pat Green is performing Friday, June 27, and tickets are $20 presale and $25 at the door. I didn't think many people would be willing to pay that amount, especially after some have already spent money to travel.

Yeah, but we'd be the thr coolest GC kids EVER if we took in Pat Green at OUR meeting.

I do understand about the financial aspects tho.

Well, it's up to the TX GC'ers. I'm down for whatever. A Pat show might be over the top though. We are from Texas, so it's okay. We're good like that. :p We are envied by all of GC, remember? We can do whatever we want. :D

Seroiusly though, I think dinner and a casual get-together at a bar/pub type place would work well.

Count me in for meeting up if it's going to be in San Antonio! I'll be attending Law School there in the fall and need to find an apartment soon. So, I could make the trip double duty.

I'll be in SA attending St. Mary's in August.

Ahh! Congrats!! In my best Reese Witherspoon voice, "I go there." :D A few of my chapter sisters who have graduated stayed at St. Mary's for graduate school and law school. I might just do the same. :)
