To all the Floyd fan out there, a question!

How much are you willing to pay to see Pink Floyd with Roger Water and maybe Syd Barret. I'll go as high as $125.

FiReKraCkEr 05-12-2003 08:07 AM

My left foot

moe.ron 05-12-2003 08:14 AM

I'll buy that for $1.

LOL, sure...why not. $1.25 'tis!

To answer the question honestly, I wouls seriously throw some bank down to see Pink Floyd! Up to $150, maybe

AOIIalum 05-12-2003 09:58 AM

With Waters *and* Syd Barrett? Today? $150 without question, and probably up to $250.00...depending on the venue and location.

minus the gazillion back-up musicians. Only Wright, Water, Mason, Gilmour, Barrett, a female back up singer, rhtym guitarist and a sax player.

With all the lights, quad sound, probably in a stadium new you. Thank god I got to see them for the Division Bell tour at Yankee STadium. (Sold out in 45 minutes)

AOIIalum 05-12-2003 10:06 AM

Arya, is this actually happening? As in venues booked and dates announced?

OK, now here's the real question. Is Syd actually doing anything or are they just wheeling him onto the stage on a stretcher?

moe.ron 05-12-2003 10:12 AM

No. :( I wish it was, and rumors have been flying around for bout 4 years now bout Water rejoining Floyd. I was at Water's concert in South Africa and got press pass. Somebody ask that particular question and he avoided an answer. Which give me some hope that they will do one final tour together.

I doubt Syd will ever play with Floyd ever again. Seeing that his mind is completely gone with all that drugs his used in the 60s. Read somewhere that he is now a middle-aged overweight guy who walks around his hometown talking to himself. Once in a while he'll pop into Gilmour's studio and just do nothing but stare for hours.

LuaBlanca 05-13-2003 09:09 AM

ooh Pink Floyd....

I think I would DIE, come back to life and DIE AGAIN if Roger Waters went back....

Question: What's everyone's fave songs? (I make that PLURAL because I know I can't pick just one!)

Mine are:
"On The Turning Away"
"High Hopes"
"Hey You"
"Learning to Fly"
"When The Tigers Broke Free" (*first song to make me CRY!!*)
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond"
and last but not least "Wish You Were Here"

moe.ron 05-13-2003 10:54 AM

Favorite Floyd songs:

Careful with that axe, eugene
echoes
astronomy domine
pigs
wish you were here
shine one you crazy diamond (all the parts)
the entire dark side of the moon album
comfartably numb

prob. more but i can't think properly right now.

AOIIalum 05-13-2003 03:49 PM

Shine on You Crazy Diamond
Welcome to the Machine
Wish You Were Here
Goodbye Cruel World
Comfortably Numb
Run Like Hell
all the Bricks in the Wall

and every note, every last beat, every single breath of Dark Side of the Moon. Absolute brilliance.

I would pay whatever I had to.I am the biggest Pink Floyd fan ever. However,I would pay nothing unless it was with Roger Waters because they went way downhill after he left. While David Gilmour is a talented musician,it is painfully obvious that Roger Waters was the smart one and the far better lyricist.
I almost bought a new phone just so I could download Comfortably Numb as my ringtone. My contract ends in 3 months and my new phone will have the download option and that will be my new ringtone.
Christin,I am with you on the Dark Side of the Moon.It is available on surround sound now and if you have it,you need to get it in that format.

Have a Cigar is also a great song in addition to all those already mentioned.

I'd spend whatever it took dammit.

It's hard to say which song on an album you like. On their earlier albums the songs were like chapters in a book (same story on the Waters solo albums). Hard to say which song you really liked the best. They stood on their own fairly well but were still part of a whole experience.

Few groups can achieve that sort of thing, most wouldn't even try. The Wall is probably my favorite, closely followed by Dark Side of the Moon.

Schmeer 05-13-2003 05:11 PM

I would die to see them....but alas....i would rather pay 125 for my new pair of Seven Jeans that I just decided to sport!!!

Oh well...for now the CD's will have to tide me over!

RACooper 05-13-2003 07:50 PM

I have been a diehard fan for years......

When Waters played here in Toronto he hinted that a reunion tour might happen in the future..... but mentioned that the main friction was between him and Gilmour, and that he (Waters) had made the first move in reconcilation but Gilmour was still a little cool to the idea.

The Wall bar none is my facourite album, and the movie is damn close to being my favourite.

I would love to see Floyd!!! My favorite song, if I can't say the whole Dark Side of the Moon album is Time. Followed by Shine on You Crazy Diamond.
Love Floyd!!

Peaches-n-Cream 05-14-2003 12:58 AM

$75 :)

moe.ron 05-03-2004 03:41 PM

....

I would pay for the tix up to $300. I would also fly anywhere to see it.

AXO_MOM_3 05-05-2004 11:53 PM

I'll pay whatever it takes! I saw them for the Division Bell tour too - it was AWESOME! I love any and all Pink Floyd songs!

hottytoddy 05-06-2004 02:12 AM

I'd pay as much as I could come up with. I'd be willing to cough up some cash. Don't know how much that would be....
