A Sigma Chi gets a catfish stuck in his head at DG's anchor splash at UC Santa Barbra
Ok talk about an idiot, don't fight each other with fish and do stuff to scare and piss of the girls..
http://www.dailynexus.com/news/2003/5183.html by the way the article has a pic of the fish stuck in his head |
You would think there was at least ONE marine biology major who could have guided these mental giants on their choice of fish for their act........assuming it was even a good idea to begin with.
 |
at least the fish were dead. When I read it at first I thought, horrified, the fish were alive and they were beating them to death. In any event, I think it is pretty foul.

Oh goodness... ::prays that doesn't happen at our Anchor Splash!:: |
Oh wow! I thought this thread was a joke. This is the craziest thing I have ever seen!!
|
Haha...I know it shouldn't be funny, but it kind of is! Glad he's ok, too bad Sigma Chi didn't win.
|
You'd think there would be a Marine Bio major....it's Santa Barbara, right next to a beach for goodness sake!
|
Weird and freaky. Why would they hit each other with dead catfish anyway?!
|
Ummmmmmm.......alrighty then!!
You learn something new every day. |
I agree that was weird & freaky. Yuuck!
|
Wow...this is a freak accident! One would assume that catfish would be harmless because they don't have scales! You learn something new everyday!
|
One word.....boys
|
ha ha ha ha. . .i'm sorry i just think it's really funny! i mean he didn't get seriously hurt. it's just another case of boys doing stupid things to impress girls. . .plus the fish were dead already so there was no harm to the fish.
|
Oh Geesh...Boys will be Boys
|
LMAO!!! that is why mommy says 'dont play with catfish'
|
Dumb. Anyone from this part of country know catfish have these spines that can be very leathal like a sharp pointed dagger.
Depending on the size of the catfish, they can be 2/3 in. long!! Just like shrimp, who, I found out snapping the heads off have sharp spines coming out of the head. Got gouged many times!:( OOOOOOOH, morons!!!!! Lucky it was not in an eye! |
Don't fight with catfish. You can lose an eye.
It's like don't run around the house with scissors. :p |
Someone has been watching too many Monty Python reruns. :D
|
Just about the funniest thing ever
I am glad that the fellow was not seriously hurt...
But, I have to admit, I laghted so hard that I cried. I even called my mom and dad just to tell them this story. I am from the rural south, and I assumed that everyone knew that catfish had sharp spikes. Good grief! HAHAHA Silver |
I agree AOPiSilver!
I'm really glad he didn't lose an eye or something terrible like that, and maybe there were some marine biology majors, but everyone makes mistakes sometimes! :) |
hahahahahah *shakes head* i dont even have a comment for that one lol
|
Who thought it would be a good idea to beat each other with dead fish? This story kills me!
|
I had to the read the article several times to believe this one. That Sigma Chi guy was lucky that the catfish's spine didn't get through his skull and possibly cause brain damage. What I want to know is how did this happen. How did he manage to get a catfish stuck in his head?
I also read that the "perpetrator" is in the chapter's freezer. What are brothers planning to do with it? Eat it or display it on a wall as a trophy? [SIZE=3][FONT=century gothic][COLOR=green] |
This has www.badjocks.com all over it

Today, I printed out that article and gave it to my parents to read. They both thought that this poor guy and his brothers were idiots for using catfish in their skit.
 |
My favorite part of the article is this gem right here...
"We totally saved the fish, it's in our freezer," Sanderson said. Totally. |
|
OMG Cream that is SOOOOO FUNNY!!!
So is that a special smiley based on a true story???? HAHAHAHAHAHA |

::falls out of her chair laughing:: OH MY GOD!
http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/lach.gif That is too funny! I mean, OUCH, but still! :-) Boys will be Boys! I'm glad we don't have anchor splash, but anchor slam. :-P Of course, knowing some of the fraternity guys around here, there still COULD be catfish involved :-P http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili.../pinkieone.gif Greek Love and Mine, Mandie |
Hey Cream, I just checked out that website for those animated smilies. Cool site!
|
Totally cool!
They have an English version when you click on the Union Jack. |
Cream, I tried to copy those smilies from that website to several posts, but it didn't. I swear I followed the instruction, but to no avail. Is there a method to this?
|
right click the smilie. select properties. Copy the URL. Come back to GC. click IMG. paste the code into the open box.
Holy cow...the motherload.... http://www.plaudersmilies.com http://smilies.networkessence.net/s/.../edoom/ALD.gif http://smilies.networkessence.net/s/...rst_smiley.gif |
1. Select the smilie that you want.
2. Highlight the UBB Code from {IMG} to{/IMG} {} will actually be []. 3. Copy the code 4. Paste onto GC reply. It takes a little practice. Good luck! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili.../xyxthumbs.gif |
Uhh, that's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard of someone doing! But considering my mom is a DG from UCSB I quickly forwarded the article to her. :) Boys...
