Professor 05-05-2003 08:54 AM

Sister Corette Scott King

Did anyone hear that she is having a make-over on Oprah today - - - don't ask me how this came up during the NAACP banquet this past weekend but it was the talk.

1savvydiva 05-05-2003 09:02 AM

Yeah...I am not going to miss that one!

Senusret I 05-05-2003 11:37 AM

whoa....i've got to see this.

skeeliteful 05-05-2003 11:54 AM

I saw the commercial for the show this morning. What could they possibly do to her? She's beautiful ;)

Professor 05-05-2003 12:00 PM

Coretta looks good to me but she could update her look. After all, she has had the same look since Bro. King's funeral. I think she should put on a short skirt and let me help her spend some of that money - lol:D

I got the chance to meet her when she came to BC for our lecture series.....but I just heard about this at lunch. I won't miss this!:)

toocute 05-05-2003 02:11 PM

I'm taping the show

I agree she is a beautiful woman but she does need to update her look.

vanda 05-05-2003 02:20 PM

I saw it this morning ( I was late for work because of it) and although I was skeptical because could she get any prettier, they did it! Her hair was trimmed so she could shake it and it would still fall back into place. She did not look anywhere near her seventy six years. And the tuxedo pants suit was very nice also.

Professor 05-05-2003 02:23 PM

Do you think she will go out with a brother? I have no problem dating older women.

AKA2D '91 05-05-2003 02:30 PM

I'm sorry...not moms, but

What about Dexter? I hope he is going to be on there. :D

He is such distinguished eYE CANDY!!

1savvydiva 05-05-2003 05:01 PM

OKAY...I am sitting here watching the show. This has GOT to be the best makeover show I have ever seen!!

Everyone looks 150% better! Mrs. King looks absolutely beautiful, I love her hair, like Oprah said, "I didn't know it could move!" :p

RedefinedDiva 05-05-2003 05:15 PM

I want to CRY!!!! This show was so touching and encouraging!! Can I be only HALF as gorgeous as IMAN and Mrs. King when I am their age?

Steeltrap 05-05-2003 05:24 PM

Mrs. King, before and after:

Eclipse 05-05-2003 05:44 PM

wow! I think the lighting on the second picture could be better, but she looks great! Her face even looks thinner. Did they say anything about her losing weight? I'm just glad they gave her some new foundation. I love Miss Co'retta to death, but her foundation had these awful red undertones that did not complement her complexion.

Thank you for posting the pictures Steetrap!

Professor 05-05-2003 05:57 PM

She looks like Marilyn McKoo(?) - - - Am I the only one old enough to know Marilyn McKoo.

Can anyone get me an autographed picture of her that says to my baby - the professor.

I hope to see her at nationals - lol

I remember Marilyn McCoo Davis back in the days, with the Fifth Dimension. That was the kind of pop music my parents listened to.
:)

Professor 05-05-2003 06:04 PM

what are you trying to say:p

I'm 38. My gauzy memories of growing up as a middle-class kid in the late '60s include the Fifth Dimension, LOL.

Coretta looks fabulous!!! I have to agree with Professor, she does kinda look like Marilyn McCoo!;) Just beautiful!

AKA2D '91 05-06-2003 08:50 AM

Marilyn does favor her. Coretta looked great!

Oprah needs to get a hold of Jesse Jackson's wife. Jackie has had THAT look for years.

Eclipse 05-06-2003 09:31 AM

I agree, Jackie would be a prime candidate.

Here's a link to the article in today's AJC. There are more pictures as well.

OMG yes!!!!

I haven't watched my tape yet. I'll look at it tonight.

How about men that need an updated look? I say Oprah needs to grab Earl Graves. I don't think he will EVA let those side burns go.

CrimsonTide4 05-06-2003 10:01 AM

Jesse needs one too.

We are live at the Sharpton Corpporate offices, where Al will undergo a massive make over per the request of ERRYBOTTY!
Right here, is his dressing room, complete with Soft & Beautiful perms, hot curlers, straightning combs, flat irons, Pank Lotion, Lotta Body for Perms and TONS of holding sprays and GEL.

Stylist: So, Al, what look are we creating for you today???

Al Sharpton sitting there looking like a black version of Boss Hogg from the Dukes of Hazzard.

Al: Yes, and a bucket of chicken.....right, lemme repeat the order to you, potata salitt, mustudd greens, yeah the small one, peach cobbla, uh huhn..........right, and a side order of whitings.

Al: Oh, man im sorry, what were you saying about a look

Stylist: it's ok Al, just wanted to know what style were you looking for??

Al: Man just give me a press and curl......paste them sides down with some gel and be done......if you want you can throw a couple of pin curls in the front that aughtta make it look betta. Then Ofra can leave me alone.

FeeFee 05-06-2003 11:30 AM

Gyrl7, you are a straight up mess!!! LLLLLOOOLLLLLLL!!!!:D :D :D

Ofra - LMBO!!!!!!

Paradise359 05-06-2003 01:04 PM

I saw the show yesterday & I was blown away! Coretta Scott King looked phenomenal! Oprah always does the best make-overs! I think I'm gonna start lookin a mess so "someone" can write in to Oprah about me!

toocute 05-06-2003 02:16 PM

LMBAO @ salitt and the side order of whitings.

vanda 05-06-2003 02:54 PM

If we're gonna do male makeovers, don't forget Bisho Magic Juan. If we're gonna have to sit through all these "pimp" videos everyone makes sure he makes a cameo in, at least get him something green and gold that looks nice. And please get rid of those damn gold costume jewelry covered chalices he drinks out of.

ClassyLady 05-06-2003 09:51 PM

What about Don King? Somebody needs to get ahold of that head.

And, in honor of the playoffs, Spurs #50 David Robinson, he has had that half a box since Jesus was in Pampers.

Aah, David Robinson is retiring. If we have to have a makeover, why not give Tim Duncan a personality?:p

I saw a snipet of the show and the new look makes her face look much softer. I like the new look.

I saw the caveman and woman, and they really needed a make over.

CrimsonTide4 05-28-2003 09:11 PM
