Pop or Soda

Where you are from do they call it Soda or Pop, Coke or Pepsi.

We call it Soda or Coke here in Fresno.

LeslieAGD 05-04-2003 06:02 PM

I call it soda...most people where I live probably call it Pop or call it Coke/Pepsi.

kddani 05-04-2003 06:16 PM

In Pittsburgh, you damn well better call it pop!

If you ask for a soda, you'll get ice cream in it

starang21 05-04-2003 06:42 PM

soda

AUDeltaGam 05-04-2003 06:43 PM

Here in the South, it's always either soda or Coke!

xok85xo 05-04-2003 06:50 PM

I still say soda. :)

Dionysus 05-04-2003 07:45 PM

It's soda.

AOIIalum 05-04-2003 07:47 PM

It's a coke, regardless of whether you're ordering a Diet Coke or a Sprite or a whatever :)

MSSTCY1 05-04-2003 07:50 PM

I've been reformed to call it a soda, but in my heart I still know that pop is a carbonated beverage and that a sucker is candy on a stick.

This is a conversation you'd hear in Oklahoma:

"What kind of Coke do you want?"

"Dr. Pepper"

FiReKraCkEr 05-04-2003 11:00 PM

"Coke"

KillarneyRose 05-04-2003 11:01 PM

But it will always be worth reviving until everyone comes to their senses and realizes that it is POP!!!! :p

Optimist Prime 05-05-2003 12:05 AM

Carbonated Caffieneted Drink. Or CC Delta, in the science community. :p

ToBeSororityGrl 05-05-2003 12:07 AM

When I lived in STL it was Soda so I call it soda, but when I moved to IL they refer to it as pop, so where i'm at it's half and half

Even if I moved I think I will always refer to it as soda, I laugh every time I hear the word pop being used for soda.

AlphaFrog 05-05-2003 01:20 AM

It is and always will be Soda.

Right after I got to school in Ohio someone asked me if I wanted a pop and I had no clue what they were talking about!

:D Me too. My dad has called it so-dee water since I was a kid and it drives me crazy (he does it on purpose).

Otherwise, pretty much everyone in Texas calls it Coke.

MooseGirl 05-05-2003 10:08 AM

in quebec tho i have to order a liqueur douce - just easier to say coke or pepsi tho....

i think it's cute when i hear soda, makes me think we're in a fifties movie or sumthin...

TaraHopeful 05-05-2003 02:26 PM

Or as it's shown in my set of German Coca-Cola glasses "koffeinhaltige Limonade" (literally, "caffeinated lemonade").

South Florida calls it a 'coke' or 'soda', confirming TaraHopeful.

PiKA2001 05-05-2003 10:02 PM

Here in Michigan it is pop. And a coke is a coke and pepsi is pepsi.

lionlove 05-05-2003 10:11 PM

Tonic, if you're an old fashioned Bostonian. Otherwise it's soda.

bsp-mich24 05-05-2003 10:27 PM
