Where and when is your (inter)national convention this year?

Theta Delta Chi 156th annual Converence will be held August 6-9, 2003 at Indianapolis, IN.

Details

Edited, try to correct the spelling of "Conference" instead of Converence or Convention, without any luck :(

For my brothers, a reminder of Steven Alonzo Jackson's words from the Second Grand Conclave in Richmond, VA back in 1878:
Quote:

Why not, my Brothers, since we of today live and cherish the principles of the Kappa
Sigma Fraternity, throw such a halo around those principles that they may be handed
down as a precious heirloom to ages yet unborn? Why not put our apples of gold in
pictures of silver? May we not rest contentedly until the Star and Crescent is the pride of
every college and university in the land!

Phi Kappa Psi only has our GAC (grand Arch Council) every other summer. I attended it last summer it was in Pittsburgh, PA. next summer it will be in sunny San Diego CA. Yes, this is my home. SDSU Phi Psi will be the host chapter for this GAC. We are stoked beyond belief for it. On the off summers there is the Woodrow Willson Men of Excelence Leadership School. I will be attending it this summer at the University of Iowa.

Beta Theta Pi holds their convention annually as the General Convention holds the ultimate power in the Fraternity.

This year's General Convention is July 24-27, in the birthplace of the Fraternity: Oxford, Ohio.

Every other year the convention returns to Miami University, and in the off years, the convention travels throughout the country. I attended last year when it was in Kansas City.

SAI has her Centennial Convention this year in Dearborn, MI on 31 July through 4 August to honor our founders and decide the future of our cherished sisterhood. A lot of our distinguished members come back to perform and share with us, and it's a really exciting time for us, especially as my chapter, Sigma Omega, is very involved with the Convention. I just wish I could go!

PrincessHeather 05-04-2003 05:01 PM

Phi Sigma Sigma has Convention every even number year and Leadership training School on the odd number years.

This year LTS: Inspiring Lives, Bridging Generations will be held July 31- August 3rd at New Brunswick, NJ

I'll be there this year and it should be a lot of fun, I can't wait!

KD's 55th Biennial Convention this year is at Loews Ventana Resort in Tucson, Arizona. It's June 25th through the 29th.

I'll be there.... can't wait. This will be my first time west of Oklahoma. Plus it'll be insanely fun, and KD gets a little extravagant.the resort
The resort looks awesome.

I was also at our last convention in 2001- that was in Orlando at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.

Our convention called Grand Chapter is biannual. We held our 60th Grand Chapter last year in Toronto, Canada. The new Grand Regent announced that next year it will be held in St. Louis, Missouri.

In the years between we hold College of Chapters. We are now holding our College of Chapters in Lexington, VA (where we were founded) on the campus of Washington & Lee University, staying in the dorms there. At College of Chapters our national programming (LEAD) is promoted, we hold focus groups, roundtables -- it's a pretty good time. I went in 2001.

great hotel..ZTA had their 2002 Convention there this past summer...nice accommodations, meeting rooms and out door space on the water too.

Gamma Phi Beta's international convention is every other year, and I went in 2002 to DC. It was amazing! It's in Chicago in 2004, then probably Phoenix in 2006 and I'm planning on going to both!

shadokat 05-05-2003 01:04 PM

D Phi E does have convention in even numbered years right now. In 02, our convention was in Orlando, and in '04 we are in San Antonio, Texas! I think I heard that Tri Delta and Chi Omega are in San Antonio in 04 as well.

AOII has their convention every odd-numbered year. This year it is in Norfolk Virginia the last weekend of June. I'm hoping to make it to convention of Leadership Institute (the off-convention years) sometime but can't afford it right now. . .

Orlando for Alpha Xi Delta

Alpha Xi Delta will be in Orlando in late June - early July. And how fun is this.... Sigma Chi's convention is at the same resort and they overlap by a day. Sigma Chi has invited Alpha Xi Delta to their Sweetheart Ball.

Delta Gamma's is in 2004 in DC!

That will be fun. At our last convention (also in Orlando, as yours is), SAE was also having their national conference. We had a big party, Disney-style with them. Nothing like seeing your National President get down with a 21 year old SAE boy. :D I have pictures to prove it.

We even had special baseball caps printed up (nice ones) to commemorate teh event.

Our General Convention is going to be held in Savannah, GA this year, the last one was held in San Antonio, TX back in the summer of 2001 I think that was the right year. Makes sense b/c the ritual #1 of my chapter was initiated at the 1965 General Convention in LA.
