I like American Idol but I refuse to watch this show. Fox is going to far now. I don't even like to hear most kids sing anyway. Most of their voices are too high and not developed and who's going to be cruel enough to tell these children the truth like Simon does? No one is going to want to hurt their little feelings. Besides, their isn't one child that I've heard that I would but their cd. I won't watch American Senior, either. I may watch the first episode or so just to laugh at the older people, but that's it.

I think the funniest thing about this show won't be the kids, but their PARENTS!! From the clips that they have already showed, many parents will be showing their AZZ!!!

Umm there is no American Senior, I was being facetious. :p

American Idol is pretty good to watch, but I have mixed feelings about American Idol Junior. On the one hand, I will probably watch to see how the parents are going to act b/c I know that will be probably be the funniest part of the show. On the other hand, I am not really interested in seeing what Simon-like person (the real Simon will not do AI Jr.) will crush these children's spirits. Also, I agree with BirthaBlue, I am not really feeling children singing songs about making love and being your lady or man.

CT4: Actually NBC is airing a show this summer that is basically an American Idol for Seniors. I get Entertainment Weekly, and they had a small article about it in it. I tried to go on nbc.com to find a link to the show but I couldn't.

how many are gonna watch Fame on NBC on Wednesday. Also, Road Rules South Pacific airs tomorrow. And Real World Paris starts June 6. However, it doesn't look that great. No AA!

I think Adam on RW Paris is biracial. His father is described in the bio as an R&B touring musician.

Okay the parents on this show are TRULY our of control. The little girl that would not stop singing until they said "Thank You" three times was TOO FUNNY!! Oh, did anyone see the girl doing the hoochie mama dance? You know hands on your knees, pumping your butt? I was too through!! :o


Aside from that I admit I watched Second Chance (aka AI for Seniors). I watched it with my grandfather (he's 72). The rapping granny had me rolling. My grandfather also liked the "hip action" she was doing talking about "Get it Mama". I was ROFLMAO!!! :D

I believe it came on Sunday. Besides the rapping Granny the show wasn't that good, of course we already knew that. :rolleyes: The senior citizen that ended up winning was this 60 year old guy that looked like he had been in the tanning booth 1 time too many.

I couldn't get past Leroy Jr.'s performance last night. LOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!

I was CTFU when that little boy came out...doing the kicks and everything! I was like, dayum. CT4 I was thinking the same thing...we he started singing that song I was instantly annoyed.

The parents were hilarious. Did you all see the "angry mom" just going off on the camera talking about, "I can't believe they didn't pick her-we just wasted a day" Her daughter sang "Colors of the Wind" (that song from "Pocahontas") and she was terrible.

I'm sorry but there were just way too many kids with way too little talent with parents that had way too much hope. I was saying to myself, "Why are these kids up here" :confused:

Most of the kids on that stage were aWFUL. Those twins -- haaaaated it.

Morgan had vocal talent but he also OVERKILLED the song to death.

I'll still watch it. Next week a pissed off mama threatens to sue if they don't get the camera out of her face, LMAO.

We were in here hollerin with Morgan - sisters had to throw a blanket on me. When he finished I thought the Right Appointed Apostle Disciple Deacon Reverend of the 1st/2nd/3rd Holy Sanctified Pentecostal Church of God in Christ was going to pass the plate for a collection-because that boy surely thought over the rainbow the Holy Spirit was waiting for him!! :D :D :p

Why did I stay on FOX and watch that new show, "Paradise Hotel"? I must have been bored. But it reminded me of that other show that they did a while back with all the singles...what was that show?

I meant to say that AJ bored me so badly on Tuesday that I will watch anymore. Actually I know I will miss the first 20 minutes or so from now on because I don't get off of work until 8:00 starting tomorrow soooooo. . .

(9/1/03, 1 p.m. ET) -- Would-be recording artists take note--Fox has cancelled its mini talent contest, American Juniors. The network originally planned to air a second edition of the American Idol spin-off in the fall, but has since scrapped the entire venture due to low ratings.


Though the program will no longer have a life on primetime television, its pint-sized contest winners--Danielle White, Taylor Thompson, Tori Thompson, Chauncey Matthews, and Lucy Hale--will still appear on an album due in stores on September 9. The CD, titled Kids In America, will also feature the other children who made the show's Top Ten.

American Juniors debuted in May. Its last episode aired on August 19.

What ever happened to them (the kids and the show)? I thought that this show would air annually. Did they replace it this year with "So You Think You Can Dance?"

hmmm...a couple years later and still wondering??? LOL!
