I was not going to watch the show but just found out that one of the 10 contestants is a soror.

Soror Robin Manning (from TSU) will be one of the models on UPN's new show, "America's Next Top Model" premiering Tuesday, May 20.

Uhm Soror is holdin' down for the "thicka" sistahs, too. All the other contestants were 5'11" 120 lbs. she is 5'9" (which ain't THAT tall) and 160 lbs. Go on gyrl!

I'll probably watch because I know Robin. She is holding it down for the thicker sistas, but actually she has lost a lot of weight. She's very outgoing and loves the beauty pagent type life so I hope she wins.

I'm sick of the reality show thing too, but I'm going to watch this show. I was watching the previews and I hate it when the one girl says "i really dont' want to be a model, I want to be a doctor" and I'm thinking then why are you on tv trying to be america's top model. and the other girl that says 'my best assets is my breasts" and i'm like WTH, wasn't there anything else you could've said about yourself. So this should be pretty interesting.

If she lost a lot of weight, it makes sense. The modeling industry considers sizes 10 :eek: to 20 plus sizes in a mainstream sense. Anything bigger, forget it.

I read the boards at Grace, a magazine geared to "larger" women, and some of those posters were h-o-t-t when the winner of the mag's plus-size modeling contest was a size 10.

I was flipping channels and stumbled on this show accident. I was hoping they didn't vote Robin off, because she seems very funny and down to earth. I like her and the rest of the crew she was with Shannon and Kesse:D

Robin had me cracking up when she was talking to the girls who were smoking.

Yeah...I fell out when she said that. He accent is thick as hell but I liked her. I want her to get far but I don't think she's going to get too far. Just like that chick said...The world isn't ready for the next top model to be a plus size model :( :( :( Even though when she had on that bathing suit as I was like Dang...sista look good to me!!

Me too. . . although she weighs less than me but she is also taller. She is pretty and just like AI if a modeling company wants her, she will get picked up.

Elyse -- Haaaaaaated her. That heffa needs to start super sizing her orders.

Sure does! When her weight flashed across the screen I was like "Oh Hell Naw". 114 lbs. What does she do sit and drink water all day? I see something VERY wrong with that.

yeah...and she said she was "naturally this thin". Give her one week with my grandmother in Covington, Ga. Gravy and biscuts, buttermilk hotcakes, whiting and grits. We'll see who weighs 114 then. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Kesse is kind of irritating, like she know's she's got this in the bag.

I don't know if they mentioned it on the show *since I missed it*, but just to let everyone know, she was also the former Miss TSU from 1996-1997! So the sister has won more than Miss soybean lol ;)

Yeah she mentioned all of her accolades but that daggone Soybean one was classic. :p

I just adore Robin, I thought she was representing the average sized woman in America.

I thought that Adrienne chick with the big feet was a druggie.

The Janice judge was put in check by Kimora Lee-Simmons when she was trying to kick Robin off, I thought that was cool. Why can't the next super model be a curvy woman? They had no problems with the fake boobs/lips girl Nicole or the anorexic girl. Robin is beautiful and she is the ONLY reason I am watching.

Kesse is a pretty girl too. She comes across as shy and soft spoken to me. I didn't get the impression that she thought her shyt didn't stink, but I've been known to be wrong from time to time (1 time).

Why did the judge get ghetto on Ebony? It's ok for J-Lo to have a big butt but not Ebony? What's the deal, are big butts in or out? I am sooooo confused!

Yeah I loved it when Kimora checked FORMER supermodel. It is clear that she is not in touch with what MEN like in models.


Kesse appeared to me more in the commercials and her audition tape to be bragadocious and it rubbed me the wrong way. Who knows, she might grow on me. I love Soror Robin though.

Her audition tape!!! You are right about that one, I didn't like her presentation. But it was better than old gurl that was wiggling on the floor and stuff!

If either one of them were to win, I would be happy. The Ebony girl, a stylish and pretty woman, but there was something about her that didn't give me a warm fuzzy.

THAT EBONY is a TRIP and that is all I can really say.

Look at the portfolios for the models. The WGs are doing too much in terms of their weight (or should I say too little). The WGs include everyone BUT the sistahs!

Ebony is a bit on the thin side too but she is not even close to the elyse chick. That's sick.

I really did not like that judge Janet. She was just mean and downright nasty to people. I was heated when she asked the first girl "what in the world possessed you to hook your hands in that bikini?" Did she kill somebody? Is that the newest sin? :confused: I thought her picture looked really nice. And, she told the other girl that her feet were too big and never to let them show her feet in a picture again. Is it really that serious?

They are trying to have a mean judge on here, like American Idol. This lady is no Simon Cowell. When she insults people, it is just pathetic because it's obvious that she really doesn't have any honset criticism.

i just so happened to be flipping through the channels and saw this reality supermodel show. what is even funnier is i actually know the girl, ebony that is on the show. she is a good friend of mine and she has ATTITUDE!!! this is why she was gone for those few months, busy all the time. i wonder how they're gonna handle her!?!?!? :eek:

I'm so mad I missed the show.

When Robyn was on campus, she was BEAT! ;) (to this day I think she was one of the best Miss TSU's). She was way thinner back then. she was said to have weighed 200+ lbs., started arobics and lost all the weight, and worked the band out just like she did for herself during band camps. But, that all doesn't matter, because the weight she has now looks good on her. :p

Hey Sorors!! Yeah Kesse is my chapter sister from Iota D! She was the tail on the 01 line. In person, she is the absolute sweetest thing you could ever meet, no BS. Give her a chance sisters, she's just doing her thang for the tube. That's my girl!
