I Never Should Have Wasted My Money II

What CD/tape/record/8 track do you wish you had NEVER wasted your money on purchasing??

**spin off from AKA forum topic**

BLACKSTREET's most recent

Toni Braxton's most recent

Deborah Cox's most recent

prospectiverushee 04-18-2003 07:42 PM

Ricky Bell's- Ricardo Campana (only purchased because Ricky Bell is my baby daddy:o :D and it did come in handy for my crossing, but other then that, it's a piece of crap)

Sam Salter's- It's On Tonight (ummm no it's not. I only got it because of that song "There you Are". Never should have gone against my 3 song rule)

I want a refund on my Blu Cantrell CD. I mean I liked her when "Hit Em Up Style" came out, but when I bought the CD and listened to it, it seemed that all her songs were about being hurt and having a broken heart, and I'm not trying to hear that all the time, y'know?? :o

I hear that! For me that CD was on TIME though, lol.

The CD that has pissed me of the most to this DAY was NICOLE WRAY. That one single "Make It Hot" was the FIRE. Then I listened to the whole CD and was super pissed. UGH!

A good bargain will make you waste money on the most insane things...
SHOES THAT DON'T FIT
BABY CLOTHES WHEN YOU HAVE NO CHILDREN
FOOD YOU DO NOT EAT

And in my case...
a Smilez and Southstar CD for $3.00 at a Wherehouse Music going out of business sale!

That CD does not do the trash can justice!

O/T -- I have to buy CDs. Mainstream jazz isn't a common music anymore. Got over 200 CDs.:p

Lady2000 08-30-2003 11:34 AM

Over the years I have been know to waste my money on CD'S. Here are just a couple of the BIG mistakes I made!!

Ideal-I don't know why I thought this CD would be good but oh my heavens was I disappointed!!

The group that sang Gangsta Lean-This CD was morbid. I don't know where my mind was at this time but I was definately not thinking clearly.

D.COM 08-30-2003 12:28 PM

I have over 200 cassettes  and afterwards bought about 4 CDs and that's it. I have about 1256 MP3s and still adding more when I get a chance :D Creating my own CDs is my favorite part (including decorating the CD cover lol) :)

For example, I have a collection of 80s TV Theme songs including popular TV shows and cartoons, jokes, and remixes

For those who enjoy music, you can even start your own radio broadcasting online ;) I am still learning about it and would like to start something...hehe don't know what I'll be broadcasting yet though!

I am a bit on the ecclectic side http://www.superbabies.homestead.com/files/hippi.gif and have yet to step into the world of downloading and MP3s. Where can I do to get the tv theme songs and do I need more than my laptop to burn CDs?

D.COM 08-30-2003 02:07 PM

Please note that is for educational purposes ONLY :p :

Getting the MP3s
**************
People go to:

http://www.kazaalite.com OR http://www.winmx.com

There are plenty more, but these are the more popular ones. Then they download the software. They install it and search for whatever songs they want. WinMX is where I've found a lot of theme songs.

Some people just download songs and don't bother creating a CD. Others create a CD so that they can listen to it in the car or take it with them.

Making a CD
***********
They use their CD-RW Optical Drive on their computer, aka CD Burner to make a CD. Their CD Burner usually comes with software to create a CD.

Then they use the software by loading all the songs they want on a CD, maybe about 16 or 17 songs (depending on their lengths). They insert a blank CD (bought at Walmart or Best Buy - "CD-RW" by the pack) and just follow the instructions on their computer screen.

Then they press a button and the software will begin writing the songs to the blank CD.

That's about it :)

I LOVE Nicole Wray! I love that cd....

but Monica's new one...no. Especially that song, ring ring ring, knock, knock, knock...double no...

blackerican 09-01-2003 02:51 PM

The Rio!!!!!

I should have never wasted my money on that Rio "hair straighting" system....or the one that Debbie Allen was pushing!!! My hair simply looked and felt the same!!! I've just come to grips that I was blessed with curly hair!!!!

MeezDiscreet 09-02-2003 12:07 AM

Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl MONIFAH's FIRST CD was tooo tough!! It helped me through my break up with WW II. :D
After that though, I never purchased her CDs.

Neosoulchild 09-02-2003 08:17 PM

I loved India.Arie's CD, and I like that Monica song, "knock, knock, knock" I could do without Missy singing, but I liked it.

Amerie's CD was a big waste of my money, and it was only $6.99.
Lauryn Hill's Unplugged 2.0... I was very hurt with this because I loved her first CD.

case NUMBER ONE in favor of kazaalite, lol.

I dled that soooooong. I actually dl'ed the whole sdtk. If it had been good I would have bought the cd but it was garbage so that joint got burned onto a gigantic 160-song MP3 cd!

Spr99_Diva 09-03-2003 02:52 PM

I Beg to Differ!

I will have to disagree with you on Monifah's first Album. It is STILL in my CD changer to this day!

I can't believe you don't like Syleena Johnson's cds! I loved both of them. But I'm into mellow music and I believe defiinitely does that for me.

As of right now, I still regret purchasing Mary J. Blige's last cd. It was a terrible purchase. I heard this latest one is good though. I need to hear another single before I make that purchase though.

And don't play because I love Ideal's album too!!

:D

Alicia Keys new CD, "The Diary of Alicia Keys"

There were only three songs on there that I liked and one of them was the single she has out now. It gets one thumb down from me.

Oh My Goodness, I LOVE LOVE LOVE her CD. I love all the songs on there.

Amerie has a good CD. I still spin it today.

I know I'm out of the loop, but is there anyway to listen to CD's before they come out. Remember when blockbuster had those listening stations where you could listen to any CD. *sigh* the good old days. I have made some unwise purchases that my CD collection is WAY WAY out of date. I don't have money to waste.

Does any one have Kelis's Tasty? Milkshake is my song!!!

I have Kelis' new CD, no not bootlegged either. I haven't had a chance to listen to the whole thing but I'll give my opinion later.

tld221 12-07-2003 10:35 PM

waste of money award goes to:

alicia keys new album (she fooled every1 with that single--the rest of the album is garbage)

scary movie 3 (the sold-out theater (about 500 black folks) walked out of there screaming and hollering, asking for their money back)

delph998 12-08-2003 11:48 AM

I wasted my money to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Cold Creek Manor. I would say that about Fighting Temptation, but I felt obligated to support my people.

CrimsonTide4 12-08-2003 02:04 PM

Neosoulchild 12-08-2003 02:44 PM

Okay so I listened to Alicia Keys' new CD again. It really wasn't that bad. I just had big expectations for her next album that were definately not fulfilled, but I guess it was worth the $9.99 that I paid for it.

stardusttwin 12-08-2003 04:30 PM

I'm really surprised at the responses about Alicia Keys new cd - I know I was in the minority but aside from two songs I was sorely disappointed with her first CD (which is collecting dust). This new one is definitely heads above and has been rotating in my player since purchased.

I haven't heard the new one but I thought the first cd was HUGELY overrated. Lucky I didnt spend my money on it *grin*.

The last reaaally crappy cd that I bought was Mariah Carey "Rainbow".

Awful, just awful. I heard Charmbracelet sucked too, but then no one I know bought it, so I will just have to go by the unimpressive singles.

StrangeFruit 12-08-2003 04:49 PM

I like Alicia Keys new CD, but this is after playing in 4x. It's grown on me.

I plan on getting Musiq's and Avant's cd tomorrow. I love Avant's new song, "I can read ya mind." That song it hot. I hope I'm not disappointed with the rest.

stardusttwin 12-08-2003 04:54 PM

***quick hijack**
Don't forget to pick up Ruben Studdard's cd tomorrow - I don't care how good or bad it is I'm sick of all the press that Clay has gotten and I want Ruben's first week numbers to knock him out!! (guess what people are getting as gifts this year:p )..

**back to regularly scheduled thread**

ShiningStar83 12-15-2003 10:01 PM

Tasty SSUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKSSSSS!
I don't know what the hell Kelis was on when she made this.
*trying to see how imma get my money back*

I like Alicia's new CD, it's pretty hot, and so is Musiq's.
I bought Ruben's CD, but it's gonna have to grow on me. I had to support him because he's from my hometown and he went to A&M
