I have something to share.....Update#2
I wanted to make a formal announcement to let GC know that I am ...........18 weeks pregnant with my first child!:) :) :D :D
Although this was a complete surprise ( a happy accident, I say) I am completely ready and very anxious to start my life as a mother! I've already had one ultrasound at 12 weeks, but that was just to hear his/her heartbeat. It was amazing! My REAL ultrasound is scheduled for the 26th, so I'll find out whether this little munchkin is a girl or boy! I haven't really begun to show yet. I have a tummy, but I always really have. I haven't felt the baby move just yet, I can't wait. I've been having a tough time with morning, noon and night sickness. Everyone keeps telling me it'll pass, but it hasn't yet (boo) That's ok! Small price to pay!:D I'll keep updating, ZTAMiami--mommy-to-be!:D btw, Moms: please send me all your advice! |
Congratulations :)

Congratulations!! How exciting!!
My advice: Enjoy your pregnancy. Take lots of pictures! The changes are incredible!! Rest when you feel tired, even if you feel like a slouch. It's ok to slow down some and even tap naps if you feel like it. Get some books on birthing techniques. Or, when the time draws near take a birthing class. FYI, What to Expect When You're Expecting is a good resource. Think about breastfeeding ~ whether you want to do it as well as the benefits, techniques, and problems relating to breastfeeding. Not all babies are receptive to the breast and this can be really emotionally trying for a new mom. There are support groups out there for women who experience this but want to continue trying. Know that everyone's birthing experience is different. Take any and all "horror" stories with a grain of salt. Know how you want to approach your birthing experience ("natural" chilbirth vs. Epidural, family/friends in the labor/delivery room, "rooming-in" option at the hospital, etc.) and discuss it with your doctor. Be prepared for the unexpected. Inevitably, babies do their own thing. :p Don't be afraid to NOT follow the advice of "veteran" parents. ;) Before baby comes, decide how you want to spend the first few days at home with baby. Do you want close family/friends to visit and help out at that time? Would you rather spend those first days alone with your brand new family? When the baby arrives, sleep when he/she sleeps. You'll need the rest. |
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Wasn't it absolutely AMAZING the first time you got to hear baby's heartbeat???? It floored me; I was like....whoa, there's a person in there!!!!! I'm so happy for you :) |
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
And as I told PenguinTrax, if its a boy, I'll gladly write a letter of rec in about 18 years. lol. All my best for you both in health and happiness. |
Congratulations!

How WONDERFUL! I am so happy for you. Nothing like the sweetness of a baby in your arms. Kinda makes me want to cry.
|

|
Congratulations!!!
Wow, it's almost like an online candlelighting for you :) What fantastic news!
Ditto on what Serenity said about "What to Expect When You're Expecting." While you're at it, pick up the version for the 1st year of life. It was wonderful and had the best general medical/first aid section of the baby books IMO. I kept both copies as general references, and my youngest will be 7 this year. Spoil yourself, eat many small but healthy meals, let your doctor know when you have questions, TAKE YOUR VITAMINS, drink lots of fluids, and if you need any support in dealing with Morning Sickness please PM me. I dealt with that with all 3 rugrats, unfortunately I'm a freaking authority on 24-7-3 trimester morning sickness (they're all super healthy, smart rugrats so it was worth it!) Hugs and happiness to you, Christin |

Update!
Well guys, I had my ultrasoound on Saturday and it's a .......
We have no idea because he/she wouln't open his legs to show us! LOL. The tech pushed and prodded but baby wasn't budging! Maybe next time. According to the tech, everything she saw was normal. All the measurements were up to date (the tech measures my cervix, placenta, baby's head and spine) She did say she couldn't get a clear analysis of the heart becasue at 19 weeks it's still a little difficult to see. She said my doc will probably send me back in a couple of weeks for that. It is a relief though, to know everything is right on track :) It's surreal to see the pictures. I almost still don't believe! We also saw the baby drinking amniotic fluid. You could see the jaw opening and closing! If we can scan the pics clearly I might post them on here, if anyone's interested! I also just started to feel the baby move. Its feels so good and puts an instant smile on my face:D Thanks for the congrats and great advice, everyone!:D ZTAMiami:D |
Awww, that is super cute!! I am glad everything appears to be going well. I look forward to reading more updates, and finding out the sex of the baby. :)
|
Congratulations!!!!http://www.clicksmilie.de/sammlung/a...smiley-033.gifKeep us posted as you progress. I was watching The Baby Story on TLC and one of the couples made a cast ? if I'm correct of the mother to be's tummy and decorated it. I thought that was such a great idea.

Ok, I need reasurrance please. My doctor's office called me to tell me to schedule a 2nd u/s for the 10th. So I did but the lady wouldn't tell me if anything was wrong. She just said not to worry. So of course here I am worrying.
Add me to your prayers just in case, please. |
