Mr. Personality
So I'm not too thrilled about the birth of another reality show, but I have to say - - THIS ONE IS HOSTED BY MONICA LEWINSKY!! BWHAHAHAHAHHAHA.
Ah well....Let the discussion begin: |
Monica Lewinsky...LOL.
Yeah this show looks like a winner. *cough* The masks they have to wear are ridiculous. |
Hahah I saw an ad for this the other night and Elise (one of my roommates) and I just laughed it off as another dumb reality show. Then they busted out with Monica Lewinsky being the host and we almost wet our pants. WTF are they thinking!?!?!?!? Hahaha, I have to watch solely for that! :D
|
oooooh goodness....
|
hahahah......yeah, I like when the guys are in the hot tub with their masks on.
And what's up with her snuggling in bed with a masked man?? I don't remember actually getting into bed with people part of reality shows?! |
It looks like she's on a date with a mexican wrestler.
So let's see: 1) They wear these goofy looking masks 2) It's hosted by Monica Lewinsky 3) The guys they pick for this probably won't look that bad to begin with 4) They start commercials for this show with the biggest lie I've ever heard: "Ask a girl why she picked her man, and most likely she WON'T say looks" I'm pretty sure that our society will turn in about a 20 million viewer share. |
would this show actually work??
I mean, i have yet to see one of these dating 'reality' shows with nasty looking people. sure some of them may never be models, but 90% of them actually could if they tried. i guess it depends on people's preferences.. |
Monica Lewinsky???? hahahahahaha
this show will surely be a winner!!!!! NOT!!!!! |
Although it is sure to be a "train wreck" along the lines of "Married By America" and "Are You Hot?", I must fess up and admit that I plan to watch this. :o :o
|
grumble
seeee......high school was a lil rough for me b/c of good ol' monica lewinsky......i had such great friends who, everyday, would have yet another witty, funny, and oh-so-appropriate "monica joke". no i've never been to the oval office, i don't smoke, etc. cigars, and i always dry-clean my clothes when stained, thanks.
so...this is not a show i personally will be watching, although i'm sure it will be emmy worthy......... monica (not lewinsky) ;) |

Along the lines of Monica Lewinsky and the reality tv thing...
Monica Lewinsky Joins Reality TV Ranks Saturday April 19 3:39 PM ET Monica Lewinsky, who knows about the risks of sharing romantic confidences, sticks to listening in the new reality TV dating show, "Mr. Personality." Lewinsky gets high marks from Hayley, the 26-year-old Atlanta woman who searches for true love among 20 masked men with Lewinsky by her side for support. The Fox series debuts Monday. "She's exactly what I needed to get through the whole thing," said Hayley, whose last name was withheld by Fox. "More than a host, she was like my buddy, my best friend, my confidant, the big sister I never had." Lewinsky didn't talk about her personal life and Hayley didn't ask. "What's happened is in the past with her. She's moved on, she's doing other things," Hayley said Friday. "I didn't even go there with her. She probably wouldn't feel comfortable rehashing it." Lewinsky was a White House intern who had a sexual relationship with President Clinton. She discussed it with her friend Linda Tripp, who secretly recorded the talks and handed the tapes over to investigators. Hayley, of course, knew her chats with Lewinsky were on the TV record as they assessed potential dates all with their faces hidden so Hayley would have to judge them on character, not appearance. "She was someone who was a listener. She played the role so wonderfully," Hayley said of Lewinsky. "She's so warm and so thoughtful, and she just wanted me to make the right decision as much as I did." Is the unlucky-in-presidential-love Lewinsky a good counselor? "I wouldn't exactly call her a dating guru. A lot of reporters have asked that question, what merits her as someone to give you advice about dating," Hayley said. But Lewinsky served as a sounding board, not adviser, she said. "When I had someone there to talk to, it made my decisions easier," Hayley said. Lewinsky declined a request to be interviewed. The program has its own interesting pedigree. One of its executive producers, Bruce Nash, is a reality TV pioneer whose early efforts included the likes of "Prisoners Out of Control." Lewinsky, who has been designing handbags, was picked as host for two reasons, said executive producer Brian Gadinsky. "First, tune-in, curiosity. We thought she'd be a great choice to garner interest in the show," Gadinsky said Friday. "It's worked. Everybody's talking about it." Lewinsky also was right for the job, he said: "We wanted to find someone who had the attributes of a great personality, who was very friendly. Someone who was not a cutout, not polished, but accessible." Lewinsky, a TV novice, worked hard, Gadinsky said. She became "the darling of everybody associated with the show for her professionalism, her kindness," he said. "She appreciated the people who worked hard to help her do her job properly. She was a joy to work with." He called the job a "whim" for Lewinsky, who had been in general discussions with Fox when the show emerged as an opportunity. Lewinsky told Newsweek magazine she's unsure whether she'll continue in television and is considering law school or graduate school in psychology. "I'm trying to see what is going to work best for me and what is my career," she said. "I'm trying to figure out my life." |
Even though I normally watch 7th Heaven and Fear Factor on Mondays- I know I will try and make time for this show too! I am a sucker for these shows!

ditto. |
I still wonder what was so special about Joe Millionaire that it got more run than Married By America and both Temptation Islands? I mean, Fox cranks out these horsebleep shows bout once a month, what made Evan and Zora so special that it turned into a media circus?
|
I wasn't planning on watching this show, but I happened to catch the first episode so now I'm hooked. Something about the masks scares the hell out of me though, I don't think I could ever have a serious conversation with a man, or hell anyone, while they were wearing some hideous mask.
I thought it kinda sucked for the girl though, she dismissed two cuties. But the one guy that yelled at her.. he seemed to be just looking to stand out a little in his 15 seconds of fame (?) I love how she has a millionaire and an unemployed guy left. It's ironic. The real estate broker was cute though. Did anyone else catch it? On the Joe Millionaire side- If I see that guy cameo on one more thing I'm gonna puke. The worst was when he had a walk on during american idol.. I stil l cannot figure out what the point of that was. |
Ok, I thought Mr. Personality was better than I thought it would be. The NFL mascot guy having a spaz attack....sorry buddy, but that kind of overreaction would just make *me* all the more resolved that I had made the right decision in cutting him loose!
I like the guys in the silver mask (millionaire and a cutie to boot), the light blue mask and the green mask. It was kind of a shame that she cut that cute guy, but when they were with the astrologer, I think he was far too overtly sexual and made Hayley uncomfortable. (I think his comment was the "please my woman over and over and over and over....and then I please myself". ) Whatever buddy, there's a 1-900 number out there for you. LOL |
alright lets take a count here... how many couples they got together through "reality" shows are still together:
bachelor #1 : no bachelor #2: no the batchelorette: ? evan & zora: no married by america: uhm, the title says married..but i saw no marriage. what makes anyone think that this couple will be any different? and what the hell qualifies monica lewinski to have her own show? the masks creep me out, i don't think i'll be watching this show..altho i say that now, and will probably get sucked in next week.. |
Omg the realtor was hot.

I watched, I'm now hooked, and I was LMAO when they were showing her kissing them through the masks and especially them in the hot tub! God, I love cheesy reality TV!!! :D
|
I hope #17 (Green Mask, I think) wins.
|
I didn't like #17, because he seems too manipulative.

I'm rooting or the real estate agent.. or the millionaire... Of course if the unemployed guy one, that would be a great twist.

when did this show start? is this going to be a whole series or just a couple of episodes?
I didn't catch the show, but there was a snippet on Access Hollywood about that guy who went beserk! |

This show is creepy. I love it! :)
Not digging the girl though. She seems like an asshole. I think #17 was cool, so was the attorney. I'm not sure what number he is. When the mascot guy went off about how stupid the whole thing was, I kept thinking, "Umm...you chose to be on this show. Did you seriously have great expectations? Then you are more disillusioned than the astrologer you are railing about!" |
I am so digging Joseph, the guy in the light blue mask :D
|
ok, Light Blue man and Dark Green man....yum
and what was up with #10...whatta freakshow |
wait which one was he? The old bald one?
|
#10 was the dude that flipped out on the psychic and then bitched at the girl when he wasn't picked...major headcase
|
Okay, so #17 (Chris, green mask) is turning out to be a little possessive and creepy.
Now I am rooting for Will (Silver) and Jim (Purple). Personally, I don't think Hayley is that great. She's a little obnoxious herself. |
* BUMP *
anyone watch last night? |
I wanted to but I had dance practice for Greek Week. anyone know what happened?
|
Last night was the first time i've watched.
Red and yellow were picked to leave. Red was a weaseling looking bald guy, Hayley was VERY happy that she picked him to leave once he took off his mask. The whole show he had been so overconfident it was to the point of being obnoxioius. Mister Yellow, before the ceremony in the last episode, had taken a Xanax (he has a history of panic attacks). It showed him afterwards, they were all drinking and he was MESSED up. That's a very large part of why she cut him. He was decent looking though. I agree with LeslieAGD, Hayley's no prize. She has zero personality, she's just a network puppet. Maybe b/c i missed the first episode, but seriously, what the hell is so great about her? |
Thanks kddani for the recap.... i taped it last night, but it cut it off after she had picked he orange mask- peyton, so i dont know who she let go.
I am glad she let the red mask guy- richard? go. He was not very attractive at all, and just kind of boring the yellow mask guy- ted.... I thought he was cute and she should have given him a second chance, we all make mistakes. Anyway, Haley isnt all that but she sure thinks she is. I think the green mask guy, Chris might win. Well it looks like it so far anyway. |
I like how all of the guys are concerned about the one (don't remember his mask color). Apparently, they found hypnotism books in his room and stuff. The other guys feel that "his motives may not be pure". Hee!!!
|
I'm glad that she turfed red mask guy and "Big Bird" (yellow mask guy).
I like the looks (okay and $$$) of Silver Mask guy (although his doughy body needs to see the inside of a gym). http://www.fox.com/mrpersonality/ima...ill_fresno.jpg Green Mask guy (Chris)...he's definitely "Dr. Smooth", but he's sexy. I like his looks. He bugged me at first, but now I like him. http://www.fox.com/mrpersonality/ima...s/chris_la.jpg Jim the Grad Student (Purple Mask guy) is pretty cute too: http://www.fox.com/mrpersonality/images/bios/jim_la.jpg I think Peyton is a sweetie as well, even though I don't find him particularly attractive.
