Chapter's favorite song?
 

I was just wondering if any of the other chapters on here have a certain song they sing at get-togethers or parties and the like.

For example, I know one fraternity chapter that sings "Dixieland Delight" by Alabama at every party, and another chapter that loves "Shook Me All Night Long". When those songs come on, the boys go crazy!

Piano Man is OUR song...always one of the last songs played at a party and all the Beta's and their dates (or hookups) put their arms over the shoulders of the person next to them and sing the lyrics drunkily!!! it's great!!!

Ours are Like a Prayer by Madonna, I Love Rock N Roll (the Britney version) and I Will Survive.

I know the Ag Sig's song here is American Pie and whenever it plays they insert the line "F*ck FarmHouse" at the end of the chorus. I dunno, they're boys, they're weird. :D

God I swear every single sorority here uses that song and makes it their own. They all change the brown eyed part.

LMAO at put it in her mouth. That song is so funny. A lot of guys I know here love that song. It is a running joke with one of our sisters and her boyfriend...so when ever we hear it we just start busting up laughing.

Our pledge class song was Nazareth's 'Hair of the Dog' ("Now you're messin' with... a sonofab*tch!"). After a week of pure hell, we were ready to get some payback! ;)

Some of the usual songs at the chapter back when I was an undergrad: "Mony Mony" by Billy Idol (especially the shouted "Get bent, get f*cked!), almost anything from Van Halen (in the days of David Lee Roth), among others too numerous to mention.

"Sweet Home Alabama"....but its "Sweet Home Delta Gamma". We changed the lyrics to something like

Our chapter song that is played at every formal and semiformal is Dancing Queen by Abba :)

not so much anymore but we used to sing Michael Bolton's "How Can We Be Lovers" and the Golden Girls theme song every night before we went out

I know ALL the sororities can claim this one, but our chapter loves "We Are Family". Of course, for us it's "We Are Alpha Phi". Whenever we were at formal or even out in bars or clubs, if my boyfriend heard this song, he would say, "Oh it's the Alpha Phi song again" and get out of the way so I could sing and dance with my sisters.

We also loved "Back That Ass Up" by Juvenile. "We're some fine Alpha Phis, won't you back that ass up!" :p

Our chapter songs are American Pie and Piano Man, which are played at the end of our parties or formals. We edited the lyrics of course!

We didn't really have a chapter song officially, but any time a group of sisters went out, we always had to request "Devil Went Down to Georgia" and dance to it :)

The Betas here ALWAYS play that song on the jukebox at Carney's whenver we're there.

Our song is Freebird. We sing it to honor our fallen brothers. It's sung at the end of our social events, with all the bros circled up, arms on shoulders. We finish it up with a "3 Cheers for Sigma Nu"

"Come Sail Away" was started for a fallen brother. He was killed by a drunk driver on his way for the first day of fishing season. We recieved word that year while at Greek Sing rehersal and this was the song we were rehersing. It fits in it's message and we use it to honor all of our fallen brothers. Both from Nu Pent and nationally.

We sing Brown Eyed Girl except it's "my Chi O girl" and after the Sha lalalalala part we shout CHI O HELL YEAH! And of course "Sweet Home Chi Omega." Another favorite that makes people teary is She's Every Woman by Garth Brooks altered into "She's Every Sister."

The TKE's here sing "Have You Lost That Loving Feeling" :) They normally sing it after dances in which all the dates stand in the middle while all the guys get on their knees and sing, hehe, it's great :)

....and my group of girls (that will hopefully be a sorority soon) have "College Girls" by EasyE (or someone like that) Umm..it get's interesting... *grin*

back in the day, we also used we are family. the iota class changed the words to a song and sang it to the sisters at a semi-formal...i love you always forever....i don't know if that is the real name of the song. i love you phi mu forever, near or far will stick together....la la la, etc. etc.

plus, when we started the phi mu dance...we used saturday night. what song do you use now claire? i know we did it at krissy's wedding to the new song, but my old brain that is on vacation, doesn't remember!!!

In APO, we ALWAYS had to play "Time Warp" from RHPS at any party.

I don't know the first two, the we are family song and i love you always forever song. I do know the dance but I can not think of the name of the song off the top of my head :confused: We like to party by the Venga Boys is another popular song that we play at formals and I believe our newest phi class made up a dance to that song. I wasn't at the formal though so I don't know. A bunch of us skipped the formal so we could avoid forfeiting greek week games that were scheduled for the same time as the formal.
