Strange Qualities that Attract You
 

Okay, so last night the new boy I am digging on and I were hanging out and something was said about him being a lefty.
It is strange but I realized that I am attracted to left handed men.
SERIOUSLY!
This guy is left handed, my recent ex is left handed, my ex fiancee is left handed. I counted it up and about 85% of the guys I have dated are left handed. I am talking about 9 of the last 10 guys I have dated have been left handed!
Now- throw this into the mix... my pops is a lefty.
NOW- is this a Freudian thing? AND- It isn't like you can tell from looking at someone that they are left handed... it isn't like blue eyes or something. NO-

Please tell me someone else has a strange quality that they like?!?!
I mean I feel so weird. And I realize that I really do find a man that is left handed more attractive. I guess because so few people have that quality.

I always fall for drummers. Except for the guy from Journey.

I have this thing for men with small/girly hands... not like the guy himself is feminine or anything but I always date guys with small hands... not that it's a bad thing but I noticed that... I even dated this huge football player type person and he had small/girly hands... I just noticed this when you mentioned the whole lefty thing...

I go for somewhat "nerdy" guys. Not the pocket protector type, rather, the type that would rather go to the movies on Saturday night. The kind that doesn't drink or smoke, never tried any drugs. The kind that doesn't like to set foot into the party/club scene. The kind that is quiet and does really well in school. Yeah, most of this is totally opposite of me! Another thing I just realized, most of the guys I've dated like oldies. Oh my gosh! I'm the nerd!! LOL

w the exception of mr. amycat-- all my exes are aquarians. it was freaky how that happened. I'd meet a new guy, be digging on him, ask when his birthday is, he'd say Feb 2nd, and I'd just say, of course it is! Seriosuly, from HS up to just before Mr amycat--all aquarians.

I don't know if this is really strange but I am attracted to guys with rough hands, I know someone said they like small/girly hands. I like the exact opposite. The more rough and callused up they are the more I like them :) I know that I also go for the guy who isn't traditionally cute, maybe I just have weird taste in men....I dunno. Great teeth also do it for me....they have to be perfect or else I don't like to look at their faces....I am a weirdo. :D

I've always dated guys who were by no means ugly... not even close... but that aren't so hot that every girl would drool over them.

i don't normally check out a guys hands I just all of a sudden realized that all guys that I have dated have smaller hands... I don't think it's necessarily something I like though... just something that is coincidental... :)

I tend to like guys who are very youthful. It helps if they are younger than I am and they say cute things like "You're the dope shit." That drives me crazy!

I also like guys who don't really give 2 craps about fashion and what not -- they have to look good, but not really care about it and not make an effort. If he only has 3 pairs of pants and doesn't comb his hair, it's all good. He better not iron or use hair gel.

I like the dorky guys too, not ur typical hot guy, but cute in their own right. They r usually funny, and sweet too. Oh I also like baseball players, just something about them.......

musicians in general...but i know of PLENTY of people that like that

My friends are always harping on me because of the guys I fall for. I guess because I'm attracted (usually- but I've been straying off it lately..) to the typical "metal/goth" kind of guy. (Forgive me- but music is a big thing w/ me and if you don't like Metallica well then i'm sorry, it's not going to work! hehe)
There have been times my friends and I have been checking guys out while we're out someplace and some tall, thin, pale guy w/ dark hair and painted black nails (yeah, i think guys w/ nail polish and eyeliner are sexy) will walk buy and i'll be like "ooh he's a cutie" and they LAUGH at me like i'm JOKING!

Chalk that one up w/ the rest of them.

just about ALL of my exes and the other guys I date for a bit have been part of Boy Scouts of America. They were either still actively involved or quit when they were 12. Somehow they all dated me.

Mmm...reading this thread I've agreed with a lot of things, and concluded that my ideal guy would be a left-handed, slightly nerdy drummer. Yeah.

As for looks, I normally go for tall guys with dark brown hair (the hair has to have a little spike to it) and are really good looking (hence my next sentence). As for personality the guys are always jerks, because they know that they look good, plus they're players. I have yet to be attractive to a nice guy just the good looking jerks.

like to add teddy bear types...i like to feel small and protected, so i tend to go for them, too, moreso than those pretty boys. big funny boys are the best............

for some reason all the guys i date are slightly dorky guys with long eyelashes. they aren't scrawny, but they aren't built either (and i love them like that!). i also need a guy who will laugh at and argue with me....i know it's kinda weird. It's funny because that's the exact opposite of the type of guys i hang out with at parties.

I seem to crush on straving artist types. My 4 latest crushes are all guys that want to do something in the entertainment field.

Well for some reason that I have yet to figure out, gay men hit on me all the time. Gay men in denial, gay men who are out but discreet, flaming gay men, drag queens, I have had it all. I go to gay clubs with my roomie and I used to think they were just trying to get to him, but I don't think so anymore. I think some gay guys are just straight-curious? I dunno.

Every guy I've had anything with has always asked me to watch "For Love of the Game" with them. I have no idea why...but whenever I really start to like someone and they ask me that, it seals the deal.
Not like this is something that attracts me to them, especially considering I'm not a Kevin Costner fan, but just something weird that I noticed.

Another thing I remembered, arrogance really turns me on too. That's horrible I know, but it just does something for me. Also a guy who is aggressive, not abusive, just aggressive. And he has to be over 6', I've never been attracted to a guy that's been shorter than 6'. My dream guy would be 6'4", green eyes, dark spiky hair, nice rough hands, and a slightly cocky attitude. Yum. :D

I read in one of my psych classes that only 10% of males and 8% of females are lefthanded.

I just thought this info was interesting. (BTW i'm part of the 8% so maybe thats the real reason I find it interesting)

I have some of the same attractions that a lot of other people have mentioned..

The dorky guy
the teddy bear
sporty types
and of course the baby faces....

and even though I think I am attracted to the Tall dark guy, I always seem to find myself dating the opposite. I like a guy that is close to my height so that way I feel we are always looking right at each other (dumb I know, but I can't help myself...yumm)

For some reason, I always say I like tall dudes, but then end up dating guys just an inch or two taller than me. I think its that wanting to look straight into thier eyes thing.

That is something I hadn't thought about but is true!!!

I don't really care about height, as a matter of fact since I am 5'2" I ideally like guys that are around 5'9" but every guy in the past two years has been over 6'.... most around 6'4" which is REALLY tall.... hmm... weird...

I knew that a small percentage of men were left handed that is why it is so weird to me that I have dated so many.

I love the dark haired men, too.... light eyes and dark hair are sexy, but all my serious men (but one) have been blondes or light brown haired, so I guess I am attracted to one, but have another.

Oh, and I don't usually date guys I am attracted to at first, I want to get to know you and if you make me laugh let's get together. I have to laugh!

I tend to be attracted to the "boy next door" types. Don't like the big beefy guys...can appreciate it, but not my thing. Also tend to like those with somewhat old fashioned values...not too old fashioned....but someone who opens the door, values hard work and family, etc. Intelligence is key....and I find little "geeky" quirks endearing (like someone said no pocket protector geeky!). My friends say I definitely have a "type" that I gravitate towards. Lucky for me, my b/f is that "type"!!

I'm attracted to dark hair guys with light eyes... and most of those guys can really dance... when we're at the bars I love grabbing one of them and just dancing with them all night, sometimes they're better dancers than me!

My boys are always tall. I like to feel little when I'm standing next to a guys.. I think thats where I get it from, I don't know. I do find the wierdest thing attractive though. The vein that bulges out of a guys forearm... yes, this turns me on.. I LOVE THE VEIN!

side note.. everyone in my family except for my older brother are left handed!!

As far as looks, I'm attracted to surfer looking guys, i.e. light hair, light eyes, tan and built. I have no idea why these kinds of boys are attractive to me, but they are. Also, I tend to gravitate toward the sarcastic/witty type of guys. I have to admit that I use sarcasm to flirt a lot, so maybe that's why I like these types of "wise guys"...guys who can take my sarcastic comments and try to dish them back to me.

I don't know how strange of a quality this is, but I really likes guys who aren't afraid to be honest and upfront with me. Almost every relationship I have ever had has began with the guy telling me that he's going to "kiss me right now." I also had a boyfriend in high school say "you're my girl now, " as a way to ask me out. Assertive, but not pushy. Or something like that. :p

I like sexy/hot librarians. Think of the movie Tomcats and not Grandmom . . .

I always seem to go for guys who are not into sports.

I am the envy of my football-widow friends. :p

I did briefly date a guy who was obsessed with baseball. As soon as spring training started, that was the end of the relationship. :rolleyes:
