LeslieAGD 04-14-2003 09:23 PM

I just saw the commercial for this.
SO PATHETIC!!!

The1calledTKE 04-14-2003 09:24 PM

I thought it was a tv show but I see it is a movie. That should bomb real quick I am sure.

SATX*APhi 04-14-2003 09:33 PM

Okay, so it's a movie, but it's "reality television." Oh gosh.

LeslieAGD 04-14-2003 10:16 PM

Anyone else wish the reality craze would stop expanding?

PhiSigSandy 04-20-2003 01:35 AM

when will it stop??? I can answer that when we all stop watching......
this sounds dumb but of course I'll probably end up watching it...gosh really I sometimes contradict myself...jut a little, just a little!

Thank you! You said exactly what I was thinking

moe.ron 04-20-2003 04:47 AM

With enough hype, the movie can make decent money, think of Jackass.

KSigkid 04-20-2003 09:04 AM

I've been complaining that we can't get a good graduation speaker...maybe Brittany can come, she's from Boston U.

Seriously though, that's crazy. There had been talk that there would be a few local students in the movie, but I had no idea someone from Boston U. was going. The reaction around campus should be interesting once the movie comes out.

Although...Adam (the Chi Phi) from Road Rules is from Boston U., and there wasn't much said when he was on that show, so maybe this girl's appearance won't cause much discussion.

But Jackass was actually a show with a pretty good following before the movie came out. And Jackass was also something different from the typical "look how hot I am. Let's get drunk. Let's hook up." reality shows that are slowly overtaking intelligent programming in America.

What intelligent programming? They've dumbed down everything, from A&E to the History Channel to even PBS.

Did you have sex with her while she was there? Does she still attend BU?

I think this whole thing is absurd.

I will make a movie out of the american dream.

breathesgelatin 04-21-2003 01:33 AM

Ok--

So one of my really close friends from North Carolina Governor's School, who I keep up with through livejournal, is friends with the girl from UNC-Chapel Hill:

My friend is like a super-indie rock chick and is completely bowled over that Amber is doing it. To quote her LJ:

my guess is that it's a total social pysch experiment

so yeah.

Jeopardy, Biography, Bravo channel, and some of the premium cable channels have some intelligent stuff from time to time.

(How sad is it that it took me a full five minutes to come up with even THAT much of a list. )

TaraHopeful 04-22-2003 11:42 PM

Guess I'm the only one who will be paying to see this. Call me pathetic but i think it will be amusing...come on we all love to laugh at drunk people

dzandiloo 04-22-2003 11:48 PM

I think 2 Texas Tech students are in it. Woohoo...gitchergunsup. Sooo proud. I won't be going to see it. at least not until its out on video....

FuzzieAlum 04-23-2003 08:14 PM

Dear lord, I hope none of these people are Greek. "There was debauchery, drinking, sex ..."

At the very least, if they're Greek, please let them not reveal that in the film.

I wish, but I doubt it will. Earlier today, Reuters had a Hollywood Reporter piece that indicated that Orenthal James Simpson would become a reality TV star a la the Osbournes.

PiKA2001 04-23-2003 09:23 PM

I can't wait till it comes out!

Rudey 04-24-2003 01:11 AM

Nope, I am definetly going to see this movie as soon as it comes out. When the previews originally came out I thought that it was just a joke that it was a "reality movie." Now that I see it really is, I'm entrigued. It might be a complete trainwreck, but its one I would love to watch.

PM_Mama00 08-20-2003 01:16 AM

K I'm a lil slow.

I just saw Real Cancun tonite and I think it was hella hilarious! Seriously you couldn't tell if some of the stuff really was real or if it was scripted. But OMG I love Jeremy.. even tho he was a whore and had a diff girl every nite.

"You wana make out?"

SparkliiQTMTSU 08-20-2003 01:38 AM

NO WAY! I so thought this movie was all about some boring and the fact that Cancun is so always more packed than that especially on spring break. i dont know it just wasnt very good to me at all.

Nichole

DZHBrown 08-20-2003 01:40 AM

What happened to quality entertainment?

GeekyPenguin 08-20-2003 01:41 AM

This is kind of old news so I'm willing to share now:

For those of you who paid to see this, the girl at the end of the movie who is with one of the guys in the lawn chair (and also the girl who won the wet t-shirt contest, named Jenie) is from UW-Platteville. Exciting, I know - she's in one of the locals and when I went to go see the movie the theater was filled with Greeks.

sigtau305 08-20-2003 10:18 AM

I rented the movie last month and it wasn't all that.

When I went to Cancun it was exactly the same packed like that and we got there like March 3rd back in 2001. Fat Tuesday and Coco Bongo's looked exactly like it did when I was there.

ZZ-kai- 08-20-2003 12:19 PM

I watched this too, and one of the girls who hooked up with Jeremy (I think thats his name) is an Alpha Xi from Oshkosh - I know her. Her name is Rebekah - she is the one sitting on the guys lap, and the other girl (house girl that Jeremy hooked up with right away, another WI girl) spazzed out in front of her. Rebekah, the girl from Oshkosh, was wearing the leopard print dress thingy. She has a rep. at Oshkosh stringing way before this movie.
