Summer 2003 Plans: What are you doing?

So, about four weeks left in school, any exciting plans for summer?

As my self, I will be studying abroad in Rome, the whole summer. Should be a good time, and HOT HELL HUMID days in Rome. ;)
Then backpacing all across Europe.

MSSTCY1 04-13-2003 04:37 AM

I WISH!!!

I am going back home to work and actually save money!!
( last summer I didn't have a jnob and my parent's paid my way:()

moe.ron 04-13-2003 04:44 AM

it'll be winter down here. but hopefully I'll get the WTO job in Swtizerland to avoid the winter. So that mean I have 3 months to kill. Doing the Southern Africa trip again, Cape Town - Namibimia - Botswana - Zimbambwe - Mozambique - South Africa - Lesotho - Soth Africa - Swaziland - Finish it up in Johanesburg Internatinal Airport and fly up to Switzerland for the interview.

OUlioness01 04-13-2003 10:14 AM

I still havethe better part of 2 months until school is out (counting down to June 12!) but i'm going back to my hostessing job at perkins and i'm looking for a part-time afternoon/evening job as well so i can save money.

Munchkin03 04-13-2003 11:01 AM

queequek, what will you be doing in Rome? I was there last spring, and if you have any questions PM me! What will you be studying there? Do you know where you'll be living in the city? I am soooo jealous...;)

On my note, I don't think I'm going anywhere exciting. I start grad school in the fall, so money will need to be saved. I know I'm working for my school's summer program, which is a fun gig--well-paying, trips to the beach...woo-hoo!

LeslieAGD 04-13-2003 11:23 AM

Either teaching summer school or starting my masters.
My family may or may not try to squeeze in a vacation to Santo Domingo.

Kevin 04-13-2003 12:04 PM

I'll take the LSAT on June 9th.. My main goal this summer is to get accepted to a law school.

You have to tried LaNova Pizza and Wings. Also go to Elmwood Ave and go to JP Bullfeather. Find a SigEp and tell them you know Scudz (me). Also Mr. Pizza, try the Chicken Finger Sub.
Stay around elmwood ave, very nice long street.

I did the Disney World College program last fall, and this summer I'm going back to Disney World to work.

I'm also trying to find an apartment in Tampa and get enrolled at a new school, whichever one accepts me!

I was going to do the Disneyland college program this summer, but unfortunately it's not being offered this summer :( It all sounds like such a great experience :)

SilverTurtle 04-13-2003 05:23 PM

I wish the so-called real world allowed for summer internships, vacations, trips, programs, etc. I'm jealous :p

James 04-13-2003 05:41 PM

Hopefully spending a few weeks in Europe. England and France.

swissmiss04 04-13-2003 08:44 PM

First thing after exams I'm hitting the beach for the weekend and then back to the real world. I'll be moving into a new townhouse and then starting school June 6th. Taking 3 classes 1st term and 2 second term. I'll be going to Pennsylvania (Grove City, to be exact) for my dad's 30th h.s. reunion and then right after that coming back here and going to New Orleans for a couple days. Also I need a freakin job. Anything would be great right now.

chideltjen 04-13-2003 10:01 PM

looking for a job along with the zillion other gphd graduates. if i get an internship, that works too and i can probably work another job.

FAB*SpiceySpice 04-16-2003 12:19 AM

Going to Myrtle Beach with the fam right after school gets out.

I'm also working part time and of course taking summer school. :( Hopefully there will also be lots of nice warm summer nights out at the lake. That's the best part of summer! That and fraternity float trips of course. ;)

Jaggergirl 04-16-2003 04:20 PM

sigh... I miss summer. The kind where all you had to do was work for spending money and not worry about making rent and you could take long vacations. Maybe I should have been a teacher after all so I could keep that schedule.

Still, I have been frequenting Orbitz much more often lately. I'm dying to take a trip so I'm hoping some fantastic weekend fare will pop up. I like their car rental grid - it makes it very easy to decide on what kind of car you want and at what price. Who knows. Maybe this time next month I'll be cruising down south beach Miami in a hot convertible... sigh...

Yeah, Conclave should be cool - I went to Memphis two years ago, it was awesome, wish I could go down this year.

I'll be doing whatever job I can get in the next few weeks...hopefully working in publishing, but who knows. I'll be living in Boston, where I'll be for at least the next year.

Collin

mu_agd 04-17-2003 08:43 PM

Working since I don't get a summer vacation anymore in this so-called "real world"... :(

but weekends will probably be spent on Cape Cod, which is always a good time!

MTSUGURL 04-17-2003 10:02 PM

16 hours of summer school and working at the preschool. I may go as a chaperone to Mexico with the youth group at church, but I don't know yet. I'd have to lay out a term of school if I do.

i became a teacher so that i could have summers off!! of course the last 4 years, i worked in a residential, full year school....i was lucky if i was able to get 2 weeks off in the summer! now that i am in the public school world, i am working at the pool all summer!!! i might get another part time job bc i am currently poor, but we will see. i am also going to take many trips to pennsylvania to see friends and family. nothing too exciting this year, but i am hoping to save up money so that in a few summers, i will be able to go to europe!!!

valkyrie 04-18-2003 01:44 PM

Yeah, I'll be working all summer, too. Hopefully, I will also be moving far far away!

tnxbutterfly 04-19-2003 12:01 AM

working and hoping to see Dave in concert twice this summer

AGDPrincess70 04-19-2003 12:08 PM

I just sent out 50 resumes to PR firms in the area, trying to score another internship. If I don't get SOMETHING, I'll cry.

If I don't find an internship, I'll probably just continue helping out at the internship I have now, take a class, and get a job at this bagel shop where like half my sisters work. How crazy would that be. I hope the manager knew what he was getting himself into...
