And, let me state for the record, I am loving Bird's hair!! It looks so neat and healthy. And I'm also feeling Terri Vaughn (Bird's friend) hair. It's tight.

Does anyone here check out the Soul Food (hereinafter, "SF") message board? I know ya'll do, I'm just late. I checked it out earlier today for the 1st time & I saw something posted about this being Boris' last season.

BTW, I hate Damon as a drunk!

I was feeling Bird's hair too. Did anyone notice that "J" was home alone when Bird & 'nem went out for capuccino cuz Lem was not home yet when they left.

There's always lots to talk about after an ep. of SF.

CT4, how did you cope w/seeing your folks? Did you know what you saw? That's too funny!

#1 -- BOO HISS @ it being his last season. FUGGERS. They betta not kill him off in a drunk driving ep.

#2 -- he is annoying as heyall as a drunk.

#3 -- yes J was left alone. LOL, wait til next ep.

#4 -- yes I knew. My mom never knew til about the last 3 years when I told her. I ran out the room chile. The door was shut but my mom had told her to wake her @ a certain time, but the only digital clock was in her bedroom. Oh and my parents were separated at the time. My dad had dropped us off the night before. That next morning they were "reunited." :o

HILARIOUS!!!! Thankfully, I never caught mine, but I know that they really (really, really, really) liked to do it cuz I have 6 brothers and 3 sisters--LOL.

One of my sisters told me that she heard them once but she didn't realize what she'd heard at the time until, about 9 months later. LOL.

LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO -- practice makes perfect. But you know what, that's cool because at least you know there was love between your folks 10 times in their life. :p

@ Mz Sportz Luva, I too heard it was Damons last season and it seems like they are getting the script ready to send him off, I hope they don't kill him off. Maybe he will hit someone and kill them and wind up in jail for life is the only other thing I could think off.

Also, how many yearbooks does Bird have??? :rolleyes: I mean, didn't they show her flushing the year book pic of that teacher in last season??? Like it was said, the scene with Lem, Bird and Terry was a classic. Terry or Lem could not stand to be in the same room at one time now they are giving group hugs, I was happy to see that. I am also feeling Bird's hair, it is fierce.....LOL.

All of them looked really nice last night.


Damon poor thing is in denial that he is an alkie. He left that AA meeting before they could finish. A classic sign of denial!

All in all I think this is going to be a good season!

Last night’s episode was off the heezy!!!!

I was so feeling Byrd when she was kicking Mr. King. How bout, before she started kicking him I was like kick his butt. Then when she started doing it, I stood up and joined her. I guess the drama queen in me started coming out.:D


Terri was too funny when she was acting jealous toward Byrd’s friend. IMO it was hilarious to see her act so childish. Then the group hug. Oh my!!!:eek: It was nice to see Terri come to Lem's defense. I was also proud of her for addressing Damon's drinking problem. I kind of figured last season they would portray him as an alcoholic given his previous episodes.

The scene when Ahmad kept vacuuming Kenny's feet was too funny. I understand the bedroom, but to see your parents gettin' their freek on in the kitchen is absolutely sickening!!! (If I knew where the smilie was that vomits, I would insert here).

Overall, I was well pleased! CT4, you have me on edge for next weeks episode:D :D :D

BOOOOOOO HISS for not changing the opening montage. Last night I almost slit my wrists with my ink pen when Terri started dancing. Everyone in the audience was clowning her.

I also noticed no ring on Teri's finger. I told my Honey, what goes on with that? If they have been engaged for 3 months, as the folks were saying, then she should have a 3 month old ring on her finger!!!

As for Max, yes I noticed her stomach a little big, I think she had on a blue top when I noticed, so I thought it was going to be her and Kenny who were going to announce they were pregnant and NOT Bird and Lem.

I also read someplace that this is Boris' last season. I read the previous posts and was/and still is in denial. :( I don't want him to go......I just got used to Teri having her OWN man for a change....:rolleyes:

I missed Wednesday's ep. Ws crushed. But my ls hooked me up with atape on Friday. I am jus getting to post now.

Stalker guy was too much!! I was screaming when he pulled her out of the car and atacked her. And the fear in homegirls voice when she came to the rescue ...whoa! I was in the moment with them.

Here are my comments about the whole BIRD storyline: She was SELFISH. I mean, okay, yeah pregnancy was unplanned, but homie you have a husband who LOVES the shit out of you. You are straight selfish to have ABORTED that baby. If Mama Joe were alive, she would beat dat azz. Bird is too immature and this really made me look at her in a whole new light.

Her reasoning for aborting was BULL!! I commend Lem for being a daddy in this situation. I felt so bad for him. I love him as a character on this show. Too bad, his wife did not realize that they were in it together.

Terri and the panic attacks/dreams: I am glad she valued her health and sanity to say no to teaching at her alma mater.

Oh and if Damon don’t come on and get her a ring – WTF is up with that.

I think Ms. Bird was a wee bit selfish. I'm a little shocked b/c I didn't think she was gonna go thru w/it. I'm shaking my head. I feel bad for Lem.

Good for Ahmad for breaking up w/Keisha, although it prolly won't last. She's too young to be that insecure & controlling.


Terri was funny as superchick & it was good to see Damon not drunk.

Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locamotive, able to keep ole'ladies from being mugged........it's a bird, it's a plane it's SUPER CHICK!!! That scene had me LMAO:D :D .

Bird and Lem's scene towards the very end of the show was soooo special it was tear jerking. The whole issue is a controversial one that is a hard nut to crack, so I can't really get into that one.

I think maybe Terry should either start her own practice or see if she can get on with the college as a full time professor. She is doing too much and I don't know if it is because she feels she has to or it won't be good enough if she doesn't have a hand in something. She really needs to slow down. PLUS, she done had 25 dreams about wedding rings AND still does not have one on her fanga!

I got kind of nervous because when Damon said he wanted to talk to her, I thought he was going to break up with her. And NOTICE she was to'up at Lems party, but he wasn't or maybe he was a lil "nice", but not as drunk as he normally gets.

I am glad that SOUL FOOD cast and poduction are tackling critical issues in the BLACK community: abortion and alcholism but why couldn't the abortion have been a FRIEND of the family.

This storyline has people (not all, but definitely ME) disappointed in Bird. In my eyes, it would be one thing had this pregnancy occurred because MICHAEL raped her, but she has a HUSBAND saying BABY I LOVE YOU and I am HERE. I am LEGIT for the love of you. She killed the part of him that pushes him to keep trying no matter what.
