It's almost here....
 

I get initiated into the Delta Upsilon chapter of Gamma Phi Beta on Thursday night! I am so excited! This is going to be such a great weekend for me between initiation and my get-together with some friends from college. I can't wait!

I've noticed that I cannot get time to pass quick enough for me. Anyone else experienced that? It's like, I'll check the time. I'll do some things, check the time again and only 2 minutes have passed. Maybe I am just weird... :)

Nope--you are totally normal.

Take a deep breath and wait it out--time just slows down like that once in a while!

No, it's totally normal to be excited and waiting for time to pass.
Maybe keep a journal or diary of these last few days as a non-sorority woman? Or go to IKEA...they have these cute little crescent moon lights! (See the Gamma Phi Beta forum...I posted in there a while ago!)

Nope, you've just got PNAM-itis! The same thing happened to me before my initiation.. luckily I had a full load of coursework to keep me occupied!

I just got in from eating dinner with Cluey and GPhiBLtColonel. They were on their way to the Gamma Phi House for Cluey's initiation! Unfortunately I couldn't join them for initiation. There were 7 Gamma Phi's who got together for dinner (including Cluey). One collegian from UGA, her mom who is an AI, two alumnae from Kansas State, GPhiBLtColonel from Southern Cal, and Cluey and myself from the Delta Upsilon chapter at UGA.

Hey y'all!

I apologize for the delay in response. As Andrea mentioned, I was attending a college reunion / bridal shower this weekend. Even if I had taken my laptop, it wouldn't have done any good, as I was in the middle-of-nowhere Alabama :)

Thank you all so much for the well wishes! They mean so much more to me than I could ever express in pure text. Without GreekChat, I would have never known that AI existed. Without GreekChat, I would have never read all of CutiePie's helpful information for potential alumnae initiates. Without GreekChat, I would have never met Andrea or Cele, who was instrumental in my initiation into Gamma Phi Beta. I was reflecting on the way to Alabama on Friday morning about just how fortunate I am to have met such wonderful people, who helped me realize my dream. Everyone on GC gives of themselves so much in so many different ways and I am just lucky to have found this site.

Thank y'all again for everything -- ideas, inspiration, encouragement, etc. Most importantly, Cele, thank you for being not only my sponsor, but my friend as well. You are definitely my benchmark for a devoted Gamma Phi Beta.

This has gotten kind of long, but I really wanted to speak from my heart and let y'all know what I was really thinking about since initiation. I know this kind of sounds like an Oscar acceptance speech, but everything I said is true. May GC be a site where women interested in AI will always find advice and encouragement :)
