Someone tell me why UF_Pike is banned again?
 

UF-Pike is banned? I had no idea.

Did this really need a new thread...? Couldn't we just pull up the old one? :rolleyes:

Why don't you PM John the administrator. I'm sure he can give you a good, unbiased explanation.

John's the only person who can ban anyone, I just posted a message in the mod's forum requesting that he be the one to explain, if he chooses to.

It was his decision.

yeah i got a pm from shopgirl and she told me it was variety of things he did...*sigh* i dont agree with it...like it matters.. but i really did like the guy, now i cant even talk to him anymore. it is a shame cause he was just telling me that he coming to the university of north florida.. now i wont know anymore:mad:

If you want to talk to him, why don't you email him?

If you didn't notice, I was giving you credit....I suggested you email him because it sounds like you want ot talk to him....you make it sound as if he fell off the face of the earth because he was banned from gc.

I don't like the guy, but I don't know what he said to get banned. He must have pissed off a "higher up."

ETA: You guys we have a protocol to follow for UF_Pike banning threads.

First we have some people saying UF is a great guy and people just don't know the real him.

Then someone has to :rolleyes: and say gawd do we really need another thread about him?!

Then some people have to say all of the offensive things that he has ever said and how he might be insane or a liar or both.

Then some people have to defend his right to post, like him or not.

Then the mod hating.

Then the mod defensiveness.

Then the mod locks the thread.

I haven't really followed UF Pike and this whole situation, so I really don't know what the deal is. I know there have been problems in the past, so perhaps it was a "last straw" sort of thing.

Just wanted to clarify.:)

UF_PikePC98 was banned in the past (under his previous account UF_Pike) because of extremely offensive messages. After being allowed back on GC with his second account he has been warned many times and has been given ample opportunity to follow the site rules. The site rules are not that difficult to understand, and we don't even enforce some of the rules strictly since this is a site for adults which is taken into consideration.

I'm unable to show you the most recent problem messages posted by UF_PikePC98, they were deleted from the threads they were in. He was not banned solely for these specific messages, but more because he has crossed the line way too many times and seems intent on continuing to do so.

Someone tell me why anyone actually cares?

he posted something in the spring break that was offensive to asian folks, i called him out with the quickness...now both of our posts are deleted. that probably was the last straw considering it happened yesterday.

Yeah, that was pretty bad.

A lot of times you have to be on all the frickin' time to catch the really bad/offensive stuff, because we have such great mods. :D

I guess my issue with the banning is that while UF_Pike had said some nasty things, I noticed he said it to ONLY people who have bashed him first. There's many many other GCers who rip other GCers into shreds w/ their tongue who have never even insulted them specifically before and they never got in trouble. I can't count how many people who bashed me in the past who I NEVER specifically insulted them before, and I can't count how many times I witnessed it happening to other people.

Whether he was bashed by individuals or not, is not the question here. He was being abusive and derogatory to many people because of physical atributes, color of skin or origin!

While some of you profess to this person being a nice guy, I too backed him until he reverted to his previous actions!

He is the only one who did it to himslef! Period!

John does not Ban someone on a whim or what any of the Moderators say about an individual.

John is the final authority on banning and has ways to find out if it is the same person. His decision is final. He does not do it lightly even though there were many people who did not want this person back on site. John has given plenty of chances to no avail. UF-P had the rope and he hung himself with no help!

Remember, John, who happens to be the admin for GC banned pike. Good luck with your "investigation!!"

YOu know, I agree w/ everyone that has been saying what is the point of this thread or why argue over it, so after this I'm going to leave it. I was just looking at the title, and to be honest, there's your answer. "Someone tell me why UF Pike was banned AGAIN."

On that note, it's a monday, school is hard, I'm drinking a beer, now who's with me? Say you now!

As John said this would be impossible to do since the offensive material was edited out or deleted as soon as it was reported. Unless someone was keeping a file on him (hopefully not) such a search wouldn't bear much fruit.

To give all of you UF Pike lovers hope-
He was banned once. He came back under a different name. Like the bad guy in a horror movie, or the good guy in your fave action flick, he will be back.
Even if his IP address is blocked, he goes to a university. I'm sure there are computer labs there. Something tells me this isn't the last of him.

Either way, I too need a beer. Actually, fuck that. I want a beer and a shot. It's gonna be a long nite.

EDITED TO ADD- I obviously am not a MOD and have no inside information so I could be totally wrong. I'm just making an guesstimation.

Everyone should read this, and read it now. And once you are done reading it, read it again. This is by far the best, and IMO, only good thing to come of this thread...
