KD wins best sorority at University of Pittsburgh!

I'm so happy to announce that the KD girls of Xi chapter at the University of Pittsburgh won the Cathedral Award (those are our Greek awards) for best overall sorority for 2002! (it goes by calendar year, and the award is announced at the GreekWeek formal every year, which was last night) This is the 3rd time in 5 years that KD has won!

Don't know any other details..... I just found this out from reading their away messages. But i'm so excited for them!

I'm not sure. Tri Delts won, they didn't place in a lot of things but they donated a TON of money and that counts for a bigger portion.

My roommate thinks that the DZs placed, but she wasn't sure.

I think we were probably close to placing in Greekweek, but we got disqualified from Greek Sing b/c a member of the fraternity we were matched with decided to streak across the stage during the last group's performance. Real smart there.

KD isn’t the only chapter to represent well at Pitt. SigEp came in second in Greek Week the highest ever for our chapter, and I won our first ever-Cathedral award for fraternity rush chair of the year. :-D They announced with right before we came in third for Greek sing. I have to say that between that and the Greek Week formal where we walked away with four trophies comprised the best weekend ever so far. :D

Congrats to all the winners especially KD, they deserve it!

How is the top group chosen, and by whom?

We put together these HUGE binders (usually 3 or 4 inch binders) together with our submissions. There's a bunch of different categories, and you prepare a section for each. There's awards in the different categories (examples- scholarship, recruitment, philanthropy, leadership, etc). Whatever group wins the most categories wins the overall award. It's a ton of work (I was in charge of our submission last year).

I didn’t realize you won so much; it was so hard to hear at the formal. I knew you won president of the year but not that you won the others congratulations. The DPhiE’s here are great we just mixed with them a week or two ago. Congratulations again.
