Natural Born Killers-So many, I can't even name
The Ring-Katie's corpse in the closet

LeslieAGD 03-27-2003 08:00 PM

Not a particular scene, but.....

Granted, it was when I was a kid but Stephen King's "The It" messed me up! I still hate clowns.

Also, when I saw the movie "Urband Legends" for the first time, it was my first year away at college and I was watching it in the middle of the night by myself. Kinda freaked me out and had me checking the windows and locks! (yeah, I know I'm a dork)

xok85xo 03-27-2003 08:02 PM

not a particular scene..but, there is a movie called "The Lady in White" this movie is the reason that I had to sleep with my TV on from the age of 7 to the age of 18. To this day, I still have to fall asleep with it on, and am scared of the dark..this movie is just creepy as hell..it was actually on tv last summer and it still scares me.

smiley21 03-27-2003 08:11 PM

'the exorcist' didnt sit with me well. when i first saw 'the ring' i had trouble walking aroung in the dark. 'what lies beneath' was such a scary surprise. a particular scene from 'sleeping beauty' gives me nightmares. i cant watch the movie.

Peaches-n-Cream 03-27-2003 08:30 PM

The Exorcist is still freakin' scary especially "the power of Christ compells you" part.

The Silence of the Lambs was scary as all hell.

Hannibal Lecter: A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. **chills**

Rosemary's Baby, Seven, The Sixth Sense, The Blair Witch Project

lauralaylin 03-27-2003 08:45 PM

The Ring scared me so much. I'm sure I screamed during it. My heart was certainly pounding throughout the whole thing. Afterwards, I was afraid of the tv for the next month. One time I was sleeping on the couch because I was hung over and throwing up and didn't want to wake my husband, and I was scared because the tv was right there. Of course, I wasn't really myself at that moment! :)

AlphaGamDiva 03-27-2003 08:48 PM

the ring....chick in the closet, when she was in the well (boo), the end with ol' boy....it just freaked me out. i had to sleep with one of my sisters that night b/c we couldn't handle it....and then that whole next week, i was randomly drawing in dark circles, saw a HUGE fly in my room, and my tv (which normally just goes to a blue screen) DID go to fuzz. bad, bad, bad week....but now i like to throw all my hair in my face and go scare my friend john. he STILL gets freaked! haha!

the exorsist...wow...creepy
seven...dude that coughs! buh!
candyman...don't play! none of y'all could go to the bathroom by yourself in middle school, either!!!!!!!!! lol

valkyrie 03-27-2003 08:51 PM

The end of The Blair Witch Project.

Nikki_DZ 03-27-2003 09:06 PM

This isn't really scary, per se, but the end of "Sleeping With the Enemy" when Patrick Bergen grabbed Julia Roberts. My brother's then gf and I were watching it and screamed so loud we woke my mom up.

Other scary sh*t:

The whole movie "It"...I've never been able to listen to anyone sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" since.

"The Haunting"-when the fireplace jumps

i totally forgot about seven. the movie gave me serious chills. kevin spacey kicks ass as the villian.

KillarneyRose 03-27-2003 09:10 PM

Can't discuss it 'cause it might come get me :o

MSSTCY1 03-27-2003 09:39 PM

The Sixth Sense and The Others

Those twisted endings gave me chills

chideltjen 03-27-2003 09:56 PM

the end of "carrie" freaked me out even though i knew it would happen cuz i read the book. i still jumped when her hand popped out of the grave.

UGAGal 03-27-2003 10:03 PM

THE SHINING! I love it!

I watch it practically every time it runs on TBS and TNT.

What Lies Beneath is a good one also. When she walks in the front door and the stereo comes on by itself. Yiiikes!!

CutiePie2000 03-27-2003 10:23 PM

1) I would have to say "What Lies Beneath" where Michelle Pfeiffer is propped up in the bathtub by Harrison Ford, and when he goes to lay her back, she's all grey and rotten looking like Amber Valetta's corpse...eeek!!!

2) "Signs" with Mel Gibson where the alien tries to grab him under the door

3) Friday the 13th, where the girl is floating in the canoe and Jason comes out of the lake!!

Jadey28 03-27-2003 10:50 PM

OH "The Ring" definately scared the crap outta me! That's pretty much it bc I don't scare too easy. The end of the Blair Witch Project was creepy, but it was also really cool in a weird twisted way. (If you saw the second one, everything is sorta explained as to why things happened the way they did in the first one.)

ZTAngel 03-27-2003 10:53 PM

Any scene in Red Dragon. They all creeped me out. I couldn't fall asleep that night.

LeslieAGD 03-27-2003 10:53 PM

Also, half the scenes in the movie "From Hell," which is super gory!
Warning Ladies: See this with your man because you'll want to spend the majority of the movie with your face buried in his shoulder.

33girl 03-27-2003 11:02 PM

"Carrie" the hand coming up out of the grave (I STILL scream every time I see it)

"Blair Witch" the ending

"Signs" the part where they are showing the video from the kids party and the alien walks through.

And any of the old Chariots of the Gods/Nostradamus movies - they are really cheaply made and just short of cheesy, but in a weird way that makes them more believable.

bucutie02 03-27-2003 11:25 PM

The Ring- when I was in the theatre my heart was racing, but I thought it was because I was just caught up in the moment and that was it. Well, when I got home, i couldnt sleep because of it!

Also, Urban Legends. To this day I have to check the freakin back seat of my car!

FAB*SpiceySpice 03-28-2003 01:22 AM

I would have to say:

The Ring, esp. with that part with the girls body in the closet....eww, I screamed

Urban Legend....I was so scared after this movie I RAN out of the theater and tripped down the steps....oops :o

Candyman

Red Dragon, the part when Edward Norton is walking in to the first family's master bedroom and you just see blood everywhere....I dropped my soda b/c I was so frightened.

Lots of movies scare me, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer scared me so much that I threw away our copy of the movie, b/c just looking at it scared me

AGREED! That was totally unexpected and totally vivid. The shot was so fast but DAMN it was realistic looking ya know?

The other movie that's sorta lame but had a freaky part was 13 Ghosts ! I was very distrubed when I sat through this movie in the theater with Will. I almost started crying because I didn't like it. It was too freaky. The part that got to me the most was when the daughter (played by that foreign exchange student in American Pie) was being attacked by the Jeckle and the father couldn't see what was going on...but then they had the camera from her "view" and this maddening, histeric face with claws of knives was cackling and ripping at her flesh. TOTALLY FREAKY! A lot of the other ghosts disturbed me, but that one really got to me.

Maybe I am just a dork, but I was going to say the same thing...I can watch people getting stabbed/shot all day long, but I cannot watch something with a ghost/monster/devil in it!!! The Jackle (sp?) was the scariest crap I have seen in a minute!! The only reason I watched it is because my cousin and her family were watching it and she was braiding my hair.

Another scary scene was from Nightmare on Elm St. I am not sure which one it was, but it was the one where the guy gets swallowed up into the middle of the bed, and all kinda 'gook' starts shooting out. I was young, (not supposed to be watching it anyway, I was sitting in the hallway, peeping around the corner), I didn't sleep in the middle of the bed until my teenage years! LOL

I completely forgot about this movie. To do this day I have never seen the ENTIRE thing b/c I get so scared during certain parts that I actually have to turn the channel. I usually not such a wimp. I have not seen the worst parts of this movie, but still get nightmare every time I see it.

are you talking bout dude that jumped up and they thought he was dead? man that scared me too!

The first Jason when he comes out of the lake. It's the music man cause it was all peaceful and then the music comes out of nowhere and there he is! freaked me out cause I didn't think the movie was that scary.

Yes 13 ghosts is no joke, it's not scary until they show the ghosts, and you can't see them without the glasses.

Exorcist will always scare me.

Candy*** I can't even type all of it damnit, lol

I will NEVER watch the ring, too many people have told me it will freak me out, and I get scared EASILY.

The First Scream when Drew Barrymore is looking out the window, he's there and she screams and he just busts through the glass, how bad does someone want to kill you that they'll bust through a WINDOW?

What lies beneath was freaky when the dead woman in the waters face comes to life and looks at him and smiles, then she travels back to the bottom and she has this peaceful look on her face after killing him*shudders*

the sixth sense when the little boy is in his tent and then they cut to that little girl throwing up, lawd that scared me.:o

I co sign on whoever said in signs when they showed that footage. I knew they were gonna show something, but not that vivid or that BIG of an alien! and with the kids screaming in the background, I was freaked out. also when they are in the basement and one of the aliens puts his arm around the little boys neck out of nowhere.

I'm looking really hard and all of a sudden, the horrible face popped up and your sound was turned up? I know it scared the bajezus outta me!

I'll add another from "What Lies Beneath:"
when the husband is walking through the house and all of a sudden the stereo turns on...the loud noise made me freak!

AOX81 03-28-2003 10:19 AM

Scary movies usually don't bother me but I remember watching Seven for the first time and I remember how my stomach was all knotted up thinking about what was in the box at the end. :( When the guy that was tied to the bed moved it scared the shit out of my ex-boyfriend.

I watched Thirteen Ghosts at work one day (when the boss was gone :)) and I thought it was really good. I told my husband that we should rent it so he could watch it. Lets just say he turned all the lights on...what a baby. ;)

AGDPrincess70 03-28-2003 11:52 AM

Quite honestly, I don't think I've ever been really sared by a movie. But I have a funny story about my dad and the Exorcist...

I love my dad, but he is the biggest wimp in the world. When he was in college, he took a film appreciation class. This was right around the time the Exorcist came out, so they were required to go see it as an assignment and write a review on it. So he and my mom went. The very first scary part comes on (I don't remember which part it is...I haven't seen that movie in years), and his head went between his knees...and it stayed there for the rest of the movie. My mom had to write the paper for him.

I still tease him about it to this day.

OUlioness01 03-28-2003 11:53 AM

The Ring- the beginning of the movie and the last half hour/15 minutes especially

Seven- never been able to watch straight through to the end, so to this day i don't know what happened at the end

What Lies Beneath

It- i thought i would be ok 'cause i read the book first, but that ended up making me even more scared

The Haunting- i've never seen the original but i was terrified during the new one

The Others- the only part that really scared me was when she looked like an old lady and when Mrs. Mills Mr. Tuttle and Lydia look like they're about to walk through the door

DigitalAngel126 03-28-2003 12:23 PM

The Ring seems to be the big thriller here..I agree...It was the first movie that actually had me terrified.

As for a couple other scary moments....Y'all gon think I'm a dork, but Joyride got me crazy.. I hate semi's anyways, and hearing that dude being all like "Caaaandy Cane"  I couldn't drive home that night, I was like NOPE! And at the end, how he gets away...PSYCHO!!

Another not very scarey movie that rubbed me the wrong way: JEEPERS CREEPERS!!!! That movie had me goin until ol' boy turned into like a mosquito or whatever...But before that it was creepy...Esp. since I got lost in the country last year with one of my friends and there was NO ONE anywhere, and then all of a sudden this truck came barrelling up behind me and would't pass us...I even slowed way down and pulled over....I was like OMG...Finally I turned and he was gone, but it was scary! :(

valkyrie 03-28-2003 12:23 PM

Oooh, I forgot about the Shining. The whole movie is pretty creepy (I was just at the Stanley Hotel, which inspired the book, and got creeped out even being in there) but there is ONE scene that freaks me out to no end. The kid is in the hallway of the hotel, and he looks into a room and there is something going on in there. A man in either a dog or bunny (I can't remember exactly because I haven't seen it for a long time) costume is standing there and they only show it briefly, but he turns and looks and it really terrifies me.

ilovemyglo 03-28-2003 12:26 PM

In SIGNS when he looks under the pantry door and the hand comes out- I was sitting next to my dad and jumped and grabbed his foot and appearently I clawed him cause his foot started bleeding from my fingernails- poor papa!

SEVEN when dude coughs- amen sister Monica....

I HATE SCARY MOVIES!

AKA2D '91 03-28-2003 12:29 PM

The Sixth Sense-Whenever the little boy recanted the events of those who were deceased.

Poltergeist-( I saw it when I was 10 or so at the theater) The scene where it rained and the tree sucked up the little brother.
Also, the scene where CarolAnn was taken away in the closet. To this day, my closet doors MUST remain closed. :o

Mind you, when we got home from the theater it rained severely that night. There was this big pine tree in front of my bedroom window. I was frightened that night to say the least. :o

texas*princess 03-28-2003 01:07 PM

Red Dragon  too many scenes there to name

The Ring - that chicks corpse in the closet, and the last 30 mins. or so.

Children of the Corn -- ok even this movie is superold, it still freaks me out. Last time I watched it I was probably 7 or 8.. my older sister just *loved* to watch it all the time in the living room, because she knew it scared me and I'd have to pass through the living room eventually :p

AHHHHH! I totally forgot about that movie. I almost wet my pants the first time I saw it b/c it scared me so much. Rusty Nail's voice is just SO creepy. After I saw it for the first time my roommates boyfriend kept calling my cell phone going "Caaaaaaaaaaandy Cane" oh Lord, it scared me!

Another movie that really wasn't supposed to be scary but it did scare me was Unbreakable w/ Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. The only scary part was when bruce was in the train station and he'd brush by all these people and he could then see what horrible things they had been doing. That creeped the hell out of me!!! Yuck. :(

I totally agree. I HATE clowns, and "IT" is probably the scariest movie i've ever seen. I still remember scenes from the movie that scare the crap out of me

-The part when the little boy is playing with the sailboat in the street, and the clown is in the sewer drain and eats him (screwed me up, I walked home from elementary school)

-The part where the clown's face appears in the moon (I think about that scene everytime I see a full moon)

There's also a "Nightmare on Elm St." movie where this guy is lying in bed and the middle of his bed falls out and turns into a portal to hell. I saw it when I was 9, and slept on the edge of the bed for weeks.

Peaches-n-Cream 03-28-2003 02:17 PM

Misery was pretty scary.

ADPiViolets 03-28-2003 04:58 PM

The part in the Blair Witch when something starts to shake their tent... after I saw that movie, I had to drive my friend home... and she lived in a small wooded area! Scary!

And in The Ring -- well, everything in The Ring scarred me, but what freaked me out the most was near the end when Samara climbed out of the TV after Noah and she was a good 10 feet away from him and then suddenly BAM she was right in front of him. That still scares the crap out of me, especially at night... I imagine her climing out of my TV and then BAM have her be right in front of me!!!
